Has this been covered? It seems strange that we cant tip other members for quality posts that help us. Is this being considered?

So, I used to mine and stupidly sold all my bitcoin, I was thinking about getting back in with a bigger bang. I am saving up around $2500CAD for a rackmount miner. Which brings me to my questions. I understand all the risks, the need to add more with each (exponential) difficulty, etc. Ive simply fallen behind with all the rapid changes.
1. How many TH/s would I require in February to produce 0.5-1BTC/day (Approx)?
2.What are some of the reputable places I would be able to purchase rackmountable miners that preferably I will not need to preorder. Or perhaps a rackmount chassis and required hardware that can neatly mount a bunch of relatively powerful ASICs, such as beagleboards(?) or better?
3. What can I do with the hardware afterwards that could potentially be profitable?
Thank you all for filling me in on what I simply can no longer find.

So I pretty much have everything down, what I wish to do is configure it, and somehow set it up for a web page for someone to simply put their BTC address, a username and password and be set up on the pool. I am using this as a way to extend my knowledge of computers a bit more. So if someone would be so kind as to guide me through the simple steps on the pushpool backend and the simple html to set it up on a web page. I will pay in Bitcoin (not much, but enough to at least make you feel appreciated for your efforts)
Im not looking for anything fancy, just the core idea of how its done, something I can dissect and learn from, commandline is preferable (the whole learning aspect of it)
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and consider helping.

Long story short, Im inheriting $5000, with this I am looking to turn a profit, should I invest it in bitcoin miners, or should I invest it in GICs and government bonds, or perhaps play with it in the stock market? Note: I am getting a bit ballsier with money, knowing how worthless it actually is.
Also, Im 24 years old, and I have to start thinking about my financial security for my future.

This is a little theory I am working on about the impact mining will actually have. Currently I see one major point people have not covered - Evolution of computing.
In the race and eventual implementation of a digital currency that is produced by processing power will lead to a faster evolution of computing prowess in both silicon based, graphene based and quantum based computers. As mining catches on, it will become more and more prevalent for computers to be built for it, just like that of gaming hardware in which we are currently using as is. We will end up influencing an entirely new genre of hardware specifically for calculation for profit, this will result in a massive splurge of new, much higher throughput devices, technological achievements and much much higher encryption.
One downfall of this, will be the fight for anonymity. Sooner or later, government will try to put their hand in this pocket, so we will have to develop better, more secure ways to fight them to avoid conviction. But, at the same time, the Internet itself could become a country or universe, it's own governing body, in which case war and many different "countries" could form, censorship and greed will ensue, not to mention, we will end up having many different currencies in which we will have to trade to and from, stifling any e-commerce - nullifying any reason to have a digital currency in the first place.
But there is hope for us if we can overcome greed and stay away from centralization, but if the government and banks/corps get involved.. who knows what might happen.
Please feel free to share any thoughts or feelings you have on this subject. I am looking forward to different views as to what may happen, what causes and effects will become of us.

I have accumulated a number of PlayStation 3s, most of which with dead lasers, other than that nothing wrong. Now, with that said, I know you can only get ~80Mh/s out of one, but what if you were to cluster? Have them all operate as one computer? either GPU-wise or CPU-wise? would it be worth the power drawl?

I am a bit of a mathematical mind, and I wish to find the threshold/point of intersection where an average Mh/s / Gh/s to realworld currency. So.. how many hashes does it require to make 1 bitcoin?
And yes, for those who are curious, I will post the equations and graphs after I am done.

Currently I am getting 745Mh/s, I would like to fine-tune this to as high as possible through standard air cooling. Current temp is 78-79 Celcius. Hello everyone, it'll be a pleasure working with you all. Currently I am hitting around 650 Mh/s with my single graphics card computer, but in the next while, I will be setting up a couple more.
