1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Valorant Champions Tournament (VCT) Discussion on: July 21, 2023, 11:14:56 PM
Since there's no dedicated thread for Valorant and Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) which is something that I think this forum should have, I made one. Make this a hub for everything about professional Valorant, from predictions, bets, odds, and insights about players and teams!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum being used to further Cancer studies on: October 28, 2022, 02:02:00 PM
While scrolling the vast expanse of Twitter because of the news that Elon, upon firing multiple executives after a full acquisition of the social media platform, I stumbled upon this post that is quite revolutionary and is nonetheless motivational. It was stated that Cancer Studies takes a lot of data from multiple countries, and these data are very integral in ensuring that the studies are furthered, and because of the border problem, a group of laboratories across the planet have started using the Ethereum Blockchain to store cancer studies data for the very reason that it is secure, and is borderless. How cool is that?!

4  Other / Meta / Some URL tag changes that has to be made on: September 04, 2020, 12:44:34 PM
UPDATE:
I've just tried using the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags inside the someurl 2 and it would simply link some fake website.

I've just noticed (so late) that you can phish someone with a simple URL tag.

if you would use the tags
[url=<<someurl 1>>]<<someurl 2>>[/url]

you can insert some phishing links in the someurl 1 and put a different link in the someurl 2. Here's a sample:

If I were the phisher:
Guys is this guy should be reported?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268229.msg54979042#msg54979042

By clicking the link that seems to just a simple bitcoin talk post, you'll be redirected to facebook page. In which, if some wouldn't be bothered clicking it, users clicked it would be hacked instantly and the hacker would just get his information. And we all trust bitcointalk related links, but I just wanted to open this up as well to be a reminder for everyone that any links can be deceiving, I can even say that this medium.com article or any articles is the link of my thread yet it would direct you to a phishing website.

I hope that the URL tags should only accept context that aren't URLs I think the forum must now don't include the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags. If not and impossible to be implemented, guess every users must be warned with such possible attack.

My bad it isn't possible lol locking the thread

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Would you trust a controlled ICO? XIAN COIN in particular... on: August 17, 2020, 01:23:07 PM
I posted it in Trading Discussion as I want to know the side of traders in trading per se, as you might be recommending this to be moved on AltDisc.

Recently, I've come up to this doubt in what factors do we need to consider in trusting an ICO (Initial Coin Offering)? But this is the issue why I've been thinking if I should lend a trust and invest or not:

XIAN COIN is a centralized digital currency powered by the Ethereum blockchain and it is not open for public trading on any cryptocurrency platforms. XNC is owned and issued by a virtual central bank where you can exchange your Xian Coin to Colombian peso, Mexican peso, Brazilian real, Peruvian sol and Philippine peso.

The currency was founded and created by an infamous convicted white-collar criminal, the National Scammer of the Philippines, Christian Albert Gaza aka Xian Gaza.

The primary use of Xian Coin is to establish a non-regulated and untraceable financial system for the notorious business partners of Xian Gaza in Latin America. It will also be used as an anonymous payment system in the Philippine e-commerce and other underground industries.

The value of Xian Coin shall be very stable and safe from the high volatility of the cryptocurrency market because it is independently controlled by the virtual central bank of Xian Gaza with a limited global supply of 75 million XNC.

It is projected conservatively that its value will increase between 300% to 400% by 2021 due to the expected influx of investments from the notorious Latinos and from thousands of Filipinos. It will be the digital currency that will connect the underground business worlds of Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Here's some facts about the XNC:
  • So basically, it wouldn't be listed on any cryptocurrency exchanges, nor be in any open markets, but rather in direct p2p exchange using MEW and any possible forms of transaction.
  • It's presale price is 40Php (Philippine Peso) to 50Php in September 1's ICO release.
  • It would be used especially as a payment system on illegal activities.
  • 100Php is the transaction fee per buy and 1000PHP or 25XNC is the minimum you can buy.
  • You'll use MEW as the wallet.
  • NO WHITE PAPER NOR ANY LEGAL DOCUMENTATION.. because its purpose is for illegals.. lol
.

Hence, I was shocked in how would they earn nor make its price grow from 40Php on Pre-Sale and 50Php on their ICO without even making it on the open market? Yes, many Filipinos might be investing on this ICO as it promises so much (and us Filipinos are too lazy to search for what is a crypto and what is an ICO hence as long as they think they'll earn, they/we invest...), but if presale would be available in any countries that has connections with the XNC Founder, how can it even influx the price for 20% increase? I only think this would be possible if they managed to exchange the supported countries' fiat to each other.

What I doubt more is that just this day, some Chinese POGO owner bought almost 500,000 (0.6667%) of 75M Total Supply of XNC, in which ONLY COSTS 18PHP, yet if a normal person would buy, it costs twice. Then it scares me as if such amount would be sold by almost 25Php (half) upon ICO release, then it would dump the price and such investments of 40Php would be somehow gone..

Am I getting the logic here right? The Crypto Open Market makes a price bigger, and so the re-sellers of a certain coin as well, depending on many factors such as the volume etc. But then not releasing such ICO on the crypto market, how would it even increase it's price??

Important Notes and Updates (will edit):

I know some users might not reach this end of thread nor read replies or the others, so I made this self moderated (i'll just disregard them) to delete unnecessary arguments.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / [LEARN] BBCODE Shorthand listing, naming code and colors, and table generating on: August 12, 2020, 06:40:09 AM
Hello guys! I've been experimenting lately with the Forum's BBCodes. And while quoting most of the topics I've been replying, I noticed that most use too many bbcodes to show something that is just short. I know there are a lot of BBCode guide in the forum yet this is a tip that focuses on posts and how to use bbcode with less work, shorthand, and have same results. I know some would say that this is just a duplicate of most, yet I still even find only less users do the following. Hope you like it!!  Grin

Note: if you'd notice, some bbcode are in normal form without using the code tag, I just used [nobbc]{value}[/nobbc] tags to show it by default bbcode.

Table of contents:

LIST FORMATTING
I've noticed that many still uses closing tags in list items such as [li]ITEM1[/li] in their posts. And having many items and closing it manually takes both the user's time and character in a post. Meanwhile, you'll notice I used [*] in the start of each item on the list as it would only output the same (using other options than asterisk will result to error).

Code name and code colors using PHP tag
Have you know that you can post programming codes here without formatting colors? I know some often uses the code tag, but do you know it can have some name to it?

____________________
____________________
CODE NAME
CODE COLOR WITH PHP TAG
In naming Code Tags, simply use [code={any name you want}]{value}[/code] to insert a name with it.

Example:
[code=java]
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
[/code]

Output:
Code: (java)
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
If you would post some codes and wanted to have colors with it, simply use [php]{any code here}[/php] to have it colored automatically (note that it wasn't fairly colored based on what language you'll insert in those tags)

Example:
[php]
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
[/php]

Output:
class Simple{
    public static
void main(String args[]){

System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}

Useful websites for bbcode

I know a lot had struggles manually making tables, but do you know that there is a table to bbcode generator?

Simply use www.theenemy.dk/table/ and simply paste your table there.

Aug. 15. Edit: This wouldn't work if you would have bbcode in your cells or you have multiple lines in a single cell as it would read per line with your data pasted as raw text.

Here is the following instructions:
__________________________
____________________________________________________
____________________________________________________
COPY YOUR EXCEL CELLS TO CONVERT IN BBCODE THEN GO TO THE WEBSITE
SIMPLY PASTE (CTRL+V) TO THE CORRESPONDING BOX
CHOOSE ANY OPTIONS YOU LIKE THEN CLICK GENERATE BUTTON

To be updated when there are more useful websites to come...

7  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Nasubukan niyo na bang mag Stock Trading? on: June 18, 2020, 07:19:05 AM

Why not try using BDO Nomura? My cousin who's working at the BDO bank near us shows me na madali lang magtrade doon and she has holdings but then hinold niya lang kasi di naman siya active trader. But the trading time isn't 24/7 but rather 9:00AM to 1:00PM and weekdays lang (dati itong 9:00AM to 3:00PM pero dahil sa quarantine, shinorten). Also, need mo lang is magpaopen ng account sa BDO (Php 2,000 ang minimum balance and di bawal bumaba sa 2k) and of course register or Sign Up your Online Account sa kanilang platform to start trading, but then recently nabasa ko na marami ring fault ang kanilang system (and yung iba nananakawan) kaya if ever na may trust issues ka sa mga banko, it's better na disregard mo nalang ito.

And as far as I know malaki ang kinikita kapag sa Stocks ka nag-invest and this is the best way as an alternative kung medyo takot ka sa crypto-trading na sobrang volatile.

I've also seen a post by Theb indicating Online Stock Broker alternatives na magagamit mo.
Other Bank-owned Stock Brokerage Services...

If you want to start trading, sali kayo sa group ng mga BDO Nomura traders dahil madami active dito and makakatulong sila, Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1923933447917465

If may suggestions kayo guys like experiences sa BDO or other platforms like BPI or mga better ideas sa stock trading, share niyo naman! Cheesy
8  Economy / Service Discussion / [REVIEW] @BTTSuperNotifier_bot and why should we use it! on: June 04, 2020, 05:16:50 AM
Disclaimer: This thread is intended to promote and be a thread of reviews of @BTTSuperNotifier_bot, given approval by the maker - TryNinja, himself.
TBH,  I would like to make a thread for your telegram bot that would tackle reviews about it yet I don't see if it was necessary (I think it was because it will boost your bot's users and will surely help them a lot). Could I make one?
Sure. Thanks for the compliments. Smiley

As we all know, maintaining a continuous conversation and concrete exchange of ideas here in the forum takes time as there are no feature that could tell whether or not you are mentioned by someone or someone did a quote on one of your posts. Because most of us (I myself included), replies on a thread then manually searches if our replies had been quoted or questioned by someone else... But not anymore!

Recently (May 16 2020 to be exact), @TryNinja made a Telegram bot that offers and allows you to get notified for every mentions, topic replies, merit updates, and more to come! He also mentioned that there are only 91+ (shockingly yes!) users that registered on the Bot. In which, I was shocked because it helped my a lot in maintaining a conversation I started in a thread and sees whether someone is talking about me.

Also, it even supports my local language! (Filipino)

Now after you've installed telegram (or if you already have one!) Go check out one of TryNinja's masterpiece! It will surely help you a lot (if i could say extremely a lot, then I would!). Then come back at this thread and reply here your reviews, and let's promote this to other users here in the forum!

I would suggest this kind of format:
Code:
I give it <<NUMBER OF STARS>> Stars!

Reasons why you've liked it
Reasons why you've disliked it (I bet you wont!)
And suggestions you think that will make the bot much greater and helpful! (you can also suggests on the main Bot thread)

Here's my review:

Quote
I give it 5 stars!

Yes, there are options that I think would be helpful if the Bot includes such as searching for other user's information with only using their names, yet it is already superb as it helped me watching threads that I've replied on and even ignore users whom mentions me. Great great great job, TryNinja!

9  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / [SUGGESTION] Isang problemang mapapansin sa Local Board natin on: May 25, 2020, 01:26:52 PM

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Reddit: Why not bitcoin? on: April 12, 2020, 05:49:34 PM
I know a lot of you guys already know what's going on with Reddit taking on ethereum based tokens integrated with the platform. They are currently experimenting a point system where communities can give extra benefits to their users. Apparently they are using ERC-20 based tokens, obviously they are going to make it possible with Ethereum and most of you guys might ask why not bitcoin?

Here is my personal opinion about it.

1.It's not because Bitcoin is not fast enough for confirming transactions like ethereum, so if it happens that the experiment goes well then millions of users are going to receive monetary benefits that will only take a seconds.

2. Ethereum Integration is the best fit for the platform simply because Ethereum was made for facilitating smart contracts and applications under its own currency.

3. Ethereum has a brighter future than bitcoin, since ethereum is used to run applications there will be time in the future that we will be making payments using ethereum and not bitcoin.

11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: March 28, 2020, 11:54:17 AM
In short, is the martingale strategy in betting in such gambling games such as roulette and dice do really is effective strategy? For example, what if you are winning, and every time you win, you double your bets, and basically apply the martingale strategy, which is to double your bet when you lose.

Would that make a huge impact to your funds? I haven't tried it so far, but for me, I don't that is really effective as if we lose, we aren't really going to win right after, because there is still a possibility of losing once again.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Japanese people, here they come on: March 26, 2020, 08:46:26 AM
Quote
Bitcoin not Safu haven, but People Seem to not Mind that

Not to promote this source bitbank, but according to them, the bloodbath or the recent bitcoin decline seem to be an opportunity for Japanese people to accumulate or buy more bitcoins. That is based from the number of people registering new accounts on the Japanese crypto exchange which is the bitbank.

Imagine, a 40 percent spike for the number of people is quite huge and KYC doesn't restrict that to happen. What does that mean?

For me, I know Japanese people's actions are so absolute and precise, they have huge discipline in many aspects that they take  and with regards to the recent market decline, I believe that they know what they are doing, and with that, accumulation of huge amount of cyptocurrency would be advisable for us to consider.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling Physically vs Gambling Online Using Crypto on: March 11, 2020, 07:43:28 AM

We all know how gambling does really makes us feel good especially if we're tired and we won a decent profit from gambling. That's why it is good to talk about the excitement we feel while gambling but here's the question, what is more fun to play? Gambling physically, or gambling using bitcoin online?

For me, gambling physically is really good especially if you have a lot of funds to play, but with the alarming COVID-19 virus, it is quite dangerous especially to play tangible equipment that people are using so at this time, online gambling through cryto, on the other hand, is more reasonable,

Here are some reasons that we should consider thinking about gambling online through bitcoin and crypto from this resource:

1. Gambling using bitcoin is fast, you can deposit amount, withdraw your funds, faster than other platforms available.
2. When you are gambling, one thing you consider is your anonymity, and with bitcoin, you can play no matter who you are, with you identity isn't at risk.
3. Games from cryptocurrencies are probably fair, you can guarantee that you can win with a 50/50 chance.

And in addition, based on my experience, gambling through cryptocurrency allows you to play even without a fund deposited because of some gambling platforms allows players to use faucets so if you are not a hardcore gambler, then you don't need to worry about putting much amount just to play.

If you have any other reasons why gambling online through crypto is the best, please share it.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / March 9 2020, Start of Bearish Season on: March 10, 2020, 05:38:01 AM

Good day to all of you, I think my topic isn't that really appealing, though I hope we could still learn some lesson from it to stick with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

According to this article, the performance of bitcoin for the next months will not be appealing because of the factors such as COVID-19, and because of the 13000 Bitcoin lost from Plus Token Ponzi.

These factors are merely fundamental analyis why market price of bitcoin and cryptocurrency changes.

According to dailyfx.com, there is allot of patterns that shows that bearish season is about to come through the use of technical/market analysis of the graph of bitcoin.

April 2 - March 9, 2020

December 1 - March 9, 2020

Bitcoin couldn't break the 50 day moving average test that signifies that bitcoin's market price will continue to decline. There is also other signals that says that the non breaking of resistance of bitcoin's market is the reason why bitcoin remains to be declining.

Quote
On the other hand, any failure in closing below the low end of the zone signals bears reluctance. This could lead some of them to exit the market causing a rally towards the high end of the zone. Further close above that level could push the price even higher towards $9.579. Nevertheless, the weekly resistance level underscored on the chart should be kept in focus.

In reality, we don't have nothing to be feared of with today's market condition. If we hold many bitcoin, this is not the end and we're not lost yet. The bear season or bear market should serve as a way for us to invest more bitcoin and don't think about losing but to take it as opportunity. I can still remember, last year, the price of bitcoin dropped low to 3000 dollars. It increases in just a short time and that's how volatile bitcoin is. As long as we know that there is a reason for us to invest, we should always continue, what more today, when bitcoin halving is about to come. This will result to scarcity for miners and will force them to sell at higher price and market price increase holistically over time. I'm pretty sure that we could still have profit, that's why what we just need is to believe in Bitcoin, and take the bear season as a challenge to our patience.

16  Other / Meta / Is the wall observer thread not synced? on: March 08, 2020, 06:21:26 AM
I've tried to reference an image I've used from google and it came from the wall observer thread here on our forum but the page number it displays doesn't contain the image I've posted.
I am just curious because it isn't the first time I've clicked a link way back before about wall observer that displays an incorrect page.
If you have encountered such issues like this, please tell. Maybe there's a problem with URL linking in Wall Observer Topic.

Or maybe, I am just the only one that couldn't see the picture.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Let's break our boundaries with Bitcoin on: March 08, 2020, 05:38:26 AM
I've noticed that the concern about the Coronavirus is still continuously growing. More and more cases are being recorded day by day and I find it too alarming that we don't do something about it. Or just to contribute some ways on how we could reduce the cases by means that we know.

We need not necessarily clean every road we see, things we handle, or sanitize everything that we have. But to consider money as a means of transaction is quite dangerous day by day.

According to this article created by CNN, South Kore's central bank is currently quarantining all their banknotes from circulation as it became a big factor to the spread of the virus.

Image Link

This is when we need to take our edge on being one of the early adopters of Bitcoin to attract people to use bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies instead of cash.

There are some advantages that we could tell them regarding bitcoin being alternative to cash:
  • Cashless Transaction - The spread of the virus is quite fast, so transacting without personal interaction is advisable
  • Fast Transaction - Instead of staying in a place to pay a particular service such as bills or fees, bitcoin will save their time and can prevent them to interact to someone that is infected.
  • Alternative - We could tell them that for the meantime, it is dangerous to use cash so bitcoin will just serve as an alternative will not really replace their currency.
  • Potential Bitcoin increase - to further attract people to use bitcoin, tell them that at this time, more and more people are seeing the potential of bitcoin which is also classified as a good investment if they became early adopter of it, their money will not just serve as pure funds to transact but as investment as well.
  • Bitcoin as new leading currency of the world - In case that the concern about the virus raises too high, we need a unifying currency that could support each and every one of us regardless of our nation and nationality. That is bitcoin.

I know this is quite bias to consider only bitcoin as the crypto to be used, but the idea here is to introduce them and literally reduce their risk to acquire the virus. In addition, bitcoin will supply the basic knowledge of cryptocurrency to them as they enter the cryptospace, to learn and to innovate their way of transaction.
