1  Other / Beginners & Help / bASIC Refund - received (posting here since I can't post anywhere else) on: January 28, 2013, 06:52:10 PM
So, I just wanted to say - got a refund on my bASIC from BTCFPGA.

I didn't even have to do anything.  I had mine on CC via Google Checkout so I figured I would wait a week or so to see how things panned out and calmed down while Tom and Dave were dealing with all the haters.  If things didn't work out I would do a chargeback on my CC.  Well, I checked and they refunded me yesterday.  Never needed to call, write horrible posts, send obnoxious emails; nothing.  They just refunded me.

So, for all the hate and discontent I have to say that Tom is a stand-up guy.  I went with bASIC because I did some research into BTCFPGA and BFL and others and based on his prior ability to deliver coupled with the fact that he always appeared to live up to his obligations led me to select bASIC as my ASIC miner of choice.  BFL, on the other hand, historically seems to miss dates pretty drastically coupled with trolling by their main dude (inaba/BFL_Josh).  They may deliver but the inappropriateness of their posts steered me away from them.

While I am disappointed that my bASIC will never arrive, I am glad to see that Tom is still living up to his obligations and taking care of his customers.  Hope he finds a better venture in the future.

As for BFL/Avalon: I will sit on the sidelines and watch.  So far no AVALON ASICs have shown up and even though they are supposedly shipping no one has a DHL tracking number ( Huh).  BFL keeps shipping dates and continues to advertise vapor-ware so I won't be spending a single penny or satoshi on them until someone confirms that 1) something other than a box of fans has arrived at their house and 2) it actually does something.

Same with Avalon.

Highly skeptical at this point,
Rockin
