1  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS [US-48] 4x L3+ - Never Overclocked on: July 18, 2018, 01:03:21 PM
I have 2 Batch 1 L3+ and 2 L3+ from a subsequent batch, I think it was batch 3 or 4, can't remember.

These will be shipped with original boxes and packing materials along with box matching serial numbers.

Looking to sell these for $260 shipped each to US-48, shipping from Central US.

I would prefer to sell these all to one person and if someone wants all 4, I'll accept $1000 shipped for the lot.

Accepting Paypal from trusted bitcointalk buyers and LTC. If escrow is desired, you pay the fees and but I will need to agree to who is being used for escrow prior to funds being sent.

Pictures will come late today.

If these don't sell here quickly, they going up on Ebay (ebay profile: https://www.ebay.com/usr/eyedolx)

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 51% attacks, "secret asics", Exchanges losing money on: May 26, 2018, 10:58:44 AM
DISCLAIMER: I have no inside information, this is just speculation and my current "Tin Foil Hat Theory"

Some thoughts I've been having in recent days...

I recently read a blog from a SIA Dev on the state of cryptocurrency mining - https://blog.sia.tech/the-state-of-cryptocurrency-mining-538004a37f9b

In that blog the SIA Dev spoke about many things and one of them that stuck out to me was the "secret asics" piece. I had always considered this was likely and probably occurring but I'm starting to believe now that it's occurring more than we realize as a community.

Now within weeks we are seeing multiple 51% attacks on multiple chains / coins.

All this makes me wonder, are these 51% attacks and "secret asics" being used to justify the case for Asics? Furthermore, was that Dev right about certain companies "playing dirty" ? (note I'm not singling out any single company as he is in his blog)

Part of me wonders are these 51% attacks being done to create a community of fear that we "need asics" to defend ourselves against these attacks?

Part of me wonders if someone with a very large bankroll and the ability to create their own secret asic has realized they can take a relatively unknown coin that has a low market value and cap and exploit it by mining a ton of it and then sending that through exchanges as we have seen with recent attacks on XVG and BTG. Several large players come to mind on this conspiracy theory.

To me this all seems like a great coincidence or a serious situation where the entire industry is being manipulated and attacked (more so than usual).

I think these recent events may steer future algos/chains/coins towards Asics once they get up to speed. If these attacks on chains keep leaving exchanges at a loss from the manipulation, it may make it even more difficult for an exchange to list new coins... I could even see some exchanges refusing to list a coin without asics to "secure the chain" or requiring an insane amount of confirmations on transactions (100+) before they will process anything when an asic is not present.

One thing is clear in all this though, if these attacks keep up, we are going to see some huge changes on the way exchanges behave and that will only be the beginning.

Dear subscriber,

We are proud and happy to announce that we are launching the all-new Antminer X3, a new Antminer model for mining cryptocurrencies based on the hashing algorithm CryptoNight.

The Antminer X3 delivers a minmum hashrate of 220KH/s while consuming 550W of total power.

To prevent hoarding by certain users or resellers and to ensure that more individual miners in different time zones around the world are able to order this new ASIC miner, we have made some changes:

There is a limit of one miner per user for all orders in the current (two) batches.
We will release both these batches with an equal stock thrice today: at 3PM, 6pm and 9PM (15 March, GMT+8).
Click below to learn the price or to order after the scheduled time of launch:

Regards,

The Bitmain team

4  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS [US-48] 3-Cube A4 with 2 Extra Controller's - Batch 2 on: February 08, 2018, 11:03:38 PM
Looking to sell my 3-Cube A4 Setup -- Complete with original boxes the cubes shipped in, will ship the controllers in their own box with data cables.

I only have enough data cables to support 2 cubes on 1 controller and a 1 cube on 1 controller in the event you are interested in splitting them up.

I'll have pictures in a few days, listing them here before I list them on feebay.

Used in a temperature controlled environment only, no outdoor or non-temperature controlled use.

Never Overclocked.

Hashes about 413MH with all 3 cubes on 1 controller

Asking 22 LTC shipped or $3300 Paypal shipped to trusted buyers only in US-48. No International Shipping. If you would like to use escrow, I will accept it from Philipma1957 and you pay the fee.

Reason for selling, have purchased more miners than I can continue to power and cool and I need the space/power.

I'll post up some pictures when I get them from where they are currently mining but honestly you know what to expect, these things are in like new condition with little to no evidence of dust from the environment they have been running in.

Would like to get 1, maybe 2 of these.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Moonlander 2 - Performance vs Temp / Clocking vs Undervolting thread on: December 27, 2017, 09:17:22 PM

For Reference if you are looking for information related to "Recommended" Hubs for the Moonlander 2: Check out this thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2455609
For Reference if you don't know wtf the Moonlander 2 is or you are looking for General information: Check out this thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2125643

This thread is about clocking vs undervolting and performance vs temp. Please keep this thread on topic. If you are looking for other support, recommended hubs, or general Moonlander 2 information, please see the above links.

I just got some of my MLD2's today and have started to mess around with them. There are several threads going on about these units but it appears (unless I missed it) there is none dedicated to the best performance vs temp, clocking vs undervolting.

I'm going to edit this first post as time goes on with recommended settings or good worthwhile advice when it is either found elsewhere in forums or within this thread.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Coingate transaction times - Eyeboot - Expired Transaction? on: December 19, 2017, 11:12:42 AM
I ordered some items from Eyeboot and paid with an BCH. Eyeboot uses Coingate for the processing.

Unfortunately Coingate only gives 10 minutes for BCH to confirm before expiring the order and it took 18 minutes for the transaction I sent to get 1 confirmation.

After I refreshed the page it showed as expired but also showed as paid and they(Coingate) had converted it to BTC. The page asked me for a BTC refund address and other info as well as it included this checkbox that said "If possible, mark the order as paid instead of refunding me"

I checked the box to mark the order as paid and submitted the form. I received a notification that said I would receive a refund in 48 hours.

Anyone had any success with getting orders processed through Coingate in this manner? I really don't want them to refund me in this case as I want the order paid.

Thanks
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Windows 10 1709, AMD Drivers, and Afterburner on: December 02, 2017, 01:35:00 PM
After some success with a Single GPU Test Rig in updating to Windows 10 1709 with 17.11.1 Drivers and the latest version of Afterburner I decided to update 3 of my 7x GPU Rigs to this version.

Post the update, all 3 are having this common issue
  • Afterburner 4.4.0 Final displays blank driver information for the card on all systems

I've tried the latest versions of DDU on affected systems and done clean installs of AMD Drivers.

Other general issues observed:
  • Driver performance generally sucks, even with Patcher 1.4.6
  • One system keeps reverting to a driver version from April 2017, even after a clean install of 17.11.1 - Got this one resolved.

I have not yet run DDU in safe mode and obviously I know possible solutions are to revert to an earlier version of Windows 10 along with an older driver or just kick W10 entirely and move to SMOS.

I've seen several people out there indicate they are running this W10 build and these same drivers on rigs with success but I can't find anywhere a post where someone is experiencing these same issues.

I have not tried running 1709 with older more mining friendly drivers but I have found posts of people saying the drivers previously released will not work in 1709.

Anyone out there had similar experiences and found a solution that works in 1709?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Bitmain G1/G2 - ETH GPU Miners on: September 13, 2017, 12:55:06 PM
So there is an article indicating that Bitmain has a GPU style miner in the works and I found it on the Chinese language bitmain site.

I wonder if they will be able to source GPU's to meet demand or will this be a China only thing

The G2 looks like it's designed to mount in a rack and it comes with a PSU, I find that interesting.

Both batches are limited to 500 units

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ETH Metropolis Hard Fork and the Difficulty Bomb/Block Reward Reduction on: August 24, 2017, 12:44:54 PM
So it's been announced the Metropolis Hard fork coming in around 1 month (end of September) will include the difficulty bomb for ETH.

I've been super busy lately so I may have missed a thread or two on this subject.

Anyone care to speculate or have some info on how high the difficulty will go?

.. My current bet is we will see at least a 4x increase in difficulty.

Edit: Sounds like a Block Reward Reduction is coming first ahead of the bomb https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2116195.msg21163794#msg21163794

    Reasons I'm selling these:
    • Some of these are GPU's I gamed with and upgrade from or never got around to installing.
    • Some of these I mined with and I upgraded to different GPU's.
    • The iBuyPower laptop was my old Gaming laptop that I upgraded a few months back
    • The Razer Blade laptop was used for about 90 days for my business when it failed, it had to be sent off for repairs. I no longer trust it for my business use anymore and no longer desire it. Works fine post repair but can't risk it having problems in the future and have my business impacted while I'm waiting on a repair. Already purchased another laptop for my business use.
    • ASIC's - I just don't have power or cooling to run them anymore

It's going to take me a several days to get everything pictured and outlined as I'm intending on selling a ton of Stuff on Ebay soon (including unsold items from this posting). I will post pictures here as I get them taken and uploaded.

I will accept BTC/LTC/XMR/ETC/ETH/ZEC or Paypal + 3% from a Bitcointalk Trusted User - If you want to use escrow, I will accept from Phillipma1957 and you pay the fees. If Paypal is used, there will be an invoice sent to you for the purchase/receipt. Please check with Phillip to confirm he is again offering Escrow services before sending him coins.[/list]
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / POLL: What's your plan after ETH? on: July 14, 2017, 01:48:39 PM
I'm going to be mining one of those coins above primarily if ETH were to switch to POS or become unprofitable due to difficulty.

I haven't decided which but currently I'm leaning towards ETC because it makes most sense for my non-nvidia rigs. ZEC for my Nvidia rigs and wherever I would dual mine, I would pick SIA.

    What's your plan right now?
    13  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS [US-48] (2) A2 Mega Terminator 110MH w/ ANX Software on: July 05, 2017, 11:39:31 AM
This post will be updated with pictures and more details later.

I am going to be selling my (2) A2 Mega Terminator 110MH with ANX Software.
    • These A2's have the 4-Pin CPU Style power connector Hashing boards and I have upgraded them with Corsair HX1200 Power supplies. I had to purchase additional 4-pin CPU Cables to cover all the boards properly.
    • These come with original boxes from Innosilicon
    • As far as I know I'm second owner of these, purchased from Ebay about 2 years ago
    • All 5 Fans and all boards working on each unit, have been used in a temperature controlled server room their entire life, including with previous owner
    • Previous owner wasn't very gentle moving these around so they are scratched on exterior and there is some denting from shipping

My reason for selling these is I have L3+ now and I simply don't have the power to continue to run these. I've had them boxed up for over a month now thinking I would figure out a way to run them at another site but that didn't pan out so now it's time to move them.

These units weigh something like 60lbs shipped and the boxes are huge so seling to US-48 only.

Price will be determined once I have time to research what I think is fair, I'm posting this here first and if no interest, they will go up on Ebay where I know they will sell.

I accept BTC, LTC, ETH, ETC, ZEC, XMR, and Paypal + 3%.

Would love to sell to 1 owner and would be willing to make a deal just to make life easy for myself but I will split them up and sell them separately if I have to because that's how they will be listed on Ebay (individually)

Never had a single issue out of these minus the crap Gamezone 1100 PSU failing on one which prompted me to replace the PSU's in both.

Before a flood of offers start coming in, I have no intention to sell these for less than $1000USD + shipping but I will entertain reasonable offers.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / The New Nicehash Website - Yay or Nay? on: June 20, 2017, 10:11:46 AM
I just refreshed my page this morning to check stats and noticed Nicehash updated their site with a new UI.

Upon refreshing the site, I literally said "Wow, this sucks"

The new site shows significantly less information, it almost appears to be by design -- it makes it much more difficult to determine what coin is paying what at a time.

It looks like they completely eliminated the grid chart found on the old Nicehash Mining hompage.

    Fonts are too big...

The list goes on for me.

    Anyone else seen this yet?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / All this talk about "mining specific" GPU's on: June 15, 2017, 05:58:07 PM
These are my thoughts and a message to GPU Manufacturers:

GPU Manufacturers believe that they can stop miners from buying GPU's they want in the hands of Gamers by creating mining specific cards.

This is a great concept but there is one problem with this. GPU Manufacturers don't understand what miners want in a "mining" GPU.

GPU Manufacturers believe that they can pass off cheaper graphics cards that they produce without the "extras" built in for Gamers that miners don't need. In addition to this GPU manufactures believe they can pass off lower quality hardware at this reduced cost and get away with it by only offering a 3 month warranty for "mining".

The problem with this idea is that GPU manufacturers fundamentally don't understand miners or the mining community.

GPU Miners buy GPU's of value for mining but they also buy them knowing that they can resell them later and get some sort of return. If you turn a GPU into an "Asic Miner" that after a few generations doesn't hash at a rate that produces enough profits, just like old Antminer S1's and S3's, it becomes basically worthless at that point to anyone except a miner that can mine with it and still make a profit.

I ask this question of GPU Manufacturers: Why would any GPU miner want to buy a "mining" specific GPU that they know they are just going to probably throw away some day instead of resell to some gamer out there that might want it at a reduced cost?

Examples of things I would want in a "Mining" specific GPU - Better cooling options, more robust fans, High hardware durability testing, dust preventative designs, measures, coatings, etc., Dual Bios capability on all mining cards, unlocked voltage controls, mining specific driver support, bios customization support.

GPU Manufacturers: You bring something with the stuff I listed above to market, you'll really deliver something that miners would want and many miners would buy.

Unfortunately with what information is being leaked out so far, it looks like you're trying to pass off your low quality asics and lesser cost GPU designs as "mining" specific cards.

This simply will not do and I for one will just keep buying up your regular GPU's until there is a time that you deliver a "mining" specific GPU that really puts "Mining with a GPU" first.

My statement to any GPU Manufacturer that might be reading this: If you're going to make "mining" specific GPU's, you better bring something to the table that a miner would want. Otherwise, Miners like me are just going to pay a little more and keep buying up the GPU's you want to be in the hands of Gamers.
    16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Limit 6 per customer on: June 10, 2017, 12:46:24 AM
I think its awesome that Newegg making "Limit 6 per customer" instead of the old 5 limit

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487248

Wish they would have done this sooner, there have been a few times I've had to order from multiple sites to get the quantity I wanted.

Obviously they will probably lower this limit with other high demand items but I thought this was a nice change.
    17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Pandaminer - Nvidia? on: June 08, 2017, 01:27:37 PM
Disclaimer: No where does this indicate or show that this is a Pandaminer at this time.

...but this must be what this is, I wonder what they are going to do to fulfill existing pre-orders.

I wonder if they are going to ship these instead or launch them separately while people still waiting on AMD cards.

Today we give you the first pictures of upcoming Pascal GPU mining solution. This system is equipped with eight GP106-100 mining cards, which lack display connectors and are passively cooled.

It’s a full system with Celeron Mobile processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and 64GB mSata SSD. The power supply is offered optionally, otherwise, 7x 6-pin power connectors are required to run this thing.

We did some experiments with ZEC mining on GTX1080+1080+1070. Such system pulls around 750W from the socket (TDP optimized) with ~1400 Sol/s. This solution requires 1050 Watts for 2500 Sol/s. So it’s 0,5 Sol/s/W better. Not a huge difference, but I guess it all depends on the price. Also, bear in mind these cards (and such system) will have low resale value, unless they find better purpose (Folding@Home?) after GPU mining becomes unprofitable.

    18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Zcash4win / Zcash4mac - Anyone using them? on: June 04, 2017, 10:42:24 AM
    https://zcash4win.com/
    https://zcash4mac.com/

Just started using the Windows version this week, I like it much better than the other Windows Zcash wallet alternatives.

Looks to be a partnership between the dev making this version and the dev that created the Zcash GUI for Linux.

Anyone out there been using either of these? Any thoughts, comments, or warnings?

I've been messing around with a small about of Zcash within it, sending receiving, etc. No issues I've had so far with the exception of one of my computers having issues downloading the initial proving key.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Warning: Jaxx Wallet on: June 01, 2017, 12:53:51 AM
I recently started messing with Jaxx wallet for a couple of alt coins and noticed today that one of the instances of the wallet, specifically the chrome plugin, quit updating the Zcash wallet after an extension update on May 25th.

I can still access the wallet from the desktop application and by other methods but I figured I would open a support case with Jaxx regarding the chrome issue since uninstalling/deleting the plugin/resetting the cache had no effect on my system. I did some reading online and found other people with similar issues that appeared to have self resolved over time while others indicated they had to contact support.

So contact support I did and here is the canned message I got

Notice that part in bold... all I can say is "Wow" when I read that piece. Jaxx is very up front about this in their support case canned e-mail but no where on their website do they say "Hey miners, don't use our wallets"

Thought I would pass this info on as a warning to those out there using this platform for mining payouts.
    20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / R9 390x2 Devil Replacement Fan on: May 24, 2017, 03:01:26 PM
Anyone know where to get a fan replacement for one of these? Middle fan is going out on one of mine.

It's not affecting the cooling of the card from temps I can see so I'm not going to shut it down until I can get the replacement.

Anyone out there got a dead card with the heatsink assy they'd be willing to let go for cheap?

    Thanks.
