What is pcie revision good for for miners? Nothing?
I've been told that pcie rev 2 is needed to mine, but this flies in the face of what I've read and what I've done with my systems... We use extenders to chop card bandwidth all the time with no detriment... How is this any different unless it has to do with specific card / mobo compatibility.

I've mined some Terracoin, who's interested in a trade?
I'd be intersted in litecoin as well as even more alternative currencies.

How long does it take to get some coins? Just curious, solo mining right now.

So, hoping to get a laptop for Christmas. What do you guys recommend? I had some excellent suggestions from you guys on a gaming desktop recommendation a little while ago, love to see what you think about this.
I'd like ability to install/use multiple hd for dual booting, ssd drives, and probably radeon graphics for some video games. Durability is probably the main thing I am looking for--budget is maybe $500. New/used isn't a problem, just want it to be fairly newish.

Looking to buy a 5970 video card, other cards considered I guess-I am not too picky on anything except looking for air cooling and high mhs at a good price. Thanks.
**edit**
No terribly exciting offers made so far, using my current total BTC to buy a laptop, but PayPal is still an option for a good deal, should one arise!

I received this is a trade, being told the battery was dead of course, it certainly seems to be being that it won't charge. Anyway make an offer and it is yours! I am very interested in alternate currencies so I may be able to take terracoin, litecoin, devcoin, or? just as soon as we figure out a deal and I get a wallet set up. I can take a picture of it for you, try anything you suggest to see if we can get it going!

Hello,
Just struck by an idea. I'd love to try it out:
I will give a Radeon 6770 video card (pics to come tomorrow!) away to the winner of a raffle I hold myself! As I'm sure you guys know, this isn't a particularly awesome card, but not terrible either. This is a completely legitimate offer and wish to make everyone believe this is so in any way possible, for .5 coin you could get a halfway decent card! Please fire away with suggestions or pipe in in the thread if you are interested!
Parameters: (So far, will update as they change)
-Buy in is .5 btc -Set number of raffle tickets (20?) -US bidders only, I will pay us flat rate shipping with tracking which should be about 1btc
More Facts
-I have no address listed to accept coins listed anywhere, *no one* can buy in yet! -I have some positive transactions on this forum, please run a search if you are suspicious of me -I am welcome to suggestions for transparency that do not involve releasing personal information -I'd be happy to hire an impartial third party (from forums) to write out candidates on paper and draw from a hat!

I have mainly 5xxx series cards at this point. Terracoin seems to have "blown up" on the forums recently and it certainly sounds appealing. I plan on checking litecoin out but heat generation is still currently a problem (I still mine in "regular" pcs with cases and will for a few more weeks) and so it is on the back burner. What currency (also miner) do you guys think I should try? I mine on windoze for now but plan on switching to ubuntu for some machines for the alternative currencies as I am about out of windows licenses.

I am located in the greater Seattle Area, it seems to me it would be advantageous if I could cut down on some shipping costs here and there. I've only bought/sold a few things here but the po does take a bite, even when utilizing flate rate shipping in us. I have a lot of equipment, and am looking for a lot of equipment, but generally the chances are if it is cheap I am interested. Meeting locally also would allow us to barter, which is impractical with shipping.
Anyone interested? Let's talk, "hash" out the details, if you will.

Hey I have:
RAM
9 or more sticks of 1gb pc3200 DDR ECC RAM 4 or (possibly more) sticks of 512mb pc3200 DDR ECC RAM ? sticks of 266 and other speed ECC 512mb and 256mb
4 matching kingston ddr pc3200 non ecc 4 matching 512mb ddr pc3200 non ecc (several different sets of 4 matched brand of this)
Lots of "loose" or unpaired modules and smaller sizes and speeds I can include free if you want some of the above.
About 16 512mb ddr2 hp 667 speed ecc rams. These can clock down to 533 speed in some motherboards but are very finicky modules. CPU
6 various opteron socket 940 processors all of which work
I also have a dell 1850 server which was dropped. The cpu are an "odd" socket but the system boots up fine. Case is just damaged, would imagine there is zero desire to move that huge mobo into another one, so procs are for sale cheap!
Others....
Hard Drives
Lots of 100gb or less hard drives IDE / PATA 30, 60, 80 etc 9x 250gb IDE Hard Drives
Random
IDE / pata raid controller for pci slot firewire pci card
Any takers? I would love to move on and be done with ddr-generation equipment and I don't need the ddr2 ecc either. I can look around for other parts, make an offer on something if you would like to own it, include shipping, I am in US. I have the ability to check the regular ddr with memtest 86 and the hard drives with gsmart, (which I plan to do before shipping) I don't have any equipment anymore for testing the ecc ram or the opterons, so selling it cheap (and I can always work with you if there is a problem) although I have personally used most of those things and only pulled for ugrades.

Not really, but I'm curious to see how many clicks this topic gets. Mainly to verify my suspicions about the nature of bitcoin lending on this forum.

Installed msi afterburner on a computer and now my guiminer window won't come up. I can reduce it and see it on my taskbar (win7) but it never goes to actually be on my screen.
What is this problem?
Deleted guiminer and reextracted, no fix so its got to be a config file bug for it...?

So I want to try playing some video games, I'm almost at the point where I will have spare time so its now time to plan!
Options: PCs
I have an msi board which will do quad crossfire, this has a 1090t in it now. I have an asus board which will do 2x crossfire, with the 8120 processor in it. I am looking at buying a socket 1356 i5 system which I believe will do 2x crossfire as well I also have a socket fm1 llano pc And finally I have several fairly good for their time gaming boards that are socket 775 (to consider all options) Not really interested in building/buying anything else anytime soon.
Options: GPUs
I have 4x 5870 cards of various makes (or will fairly soon) I have a matched pair of 6950 I have maybe 6-10 5770 cards Oddballs like a 5570 (to consider all options again) Always looking for new video cards, probably no nvidia however.
What would you guys say would be the strongest setup? I want to play eve online, minecraft, maybe some first person shooters, as well as of course, whatever I find cheaply on steam.

MOTHERBOARDSIntel Motherboard D975X BX2 Intel Bad Axe 2 ( 5.5 bitcoins shipped in US.) I originally called these mystery motherboards because it was not too clear exactly what the real "name" of this motherboard is, I believe I have found a spec sheet of sorts here: http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/whql_mlp_d975xbx2_d53347.pdfHere is a photo: http://imgur.com/1AMDJWhat I know about these: Socket 775 (Accepts Core 2 duo, Core 2 Quad, Pentium Dual Core) 4x DDR2 667 and 800 mhz speed 4 Sata Ports 3 PCI-express full length card slots 2 PCI slots From what I can read crossfire is possible between the top pcie either @ x16 and x1, or x8 and x8, and no matter what the third slot is x4 speed. What I can tell you from personal experience is that I put three 5770 cards on the board with no risers for one mining machine, and I have one with a core 2 quad q6700 8gb of ram (4x2gb) and windows 7--I also plugged a usb3 pcie mini card into the third pcie "video" slot and it works, I guess people do this all the time but it was a first for me, lol! I also read that these are a "stripped down" version of another board with a sata raid controller. I wouldn't doubt it it is hard to find info on it, but they work great! I should also have either a 2ghz or 2.1 ghz core 2 duo, or pentium dual core along with a coverplate for the i/o on the back of the motherboard for each available. Infinity Dark P965 ( 9 bitcoins shipped in US, also a socket 775 but fsb is 1333 capable with 2 full pcie and 2 short, they look like x1 to me ) 1 ram plastic lock down thing is missing unfortunately from the infinity board but it hasn't given me any problems I have been able to properly seat ram without it... CPUsCore 2 duo 2ghz Core 2 duo 2.4ghz Pentium Dual Core 1.8 ghz RAMSome DDR2, will check 12 or so 667 ecc ddr2 modules 6 or so 1gb 800 mhz ddr2 Various 512mb modules 4 256mb of 533 (lol) So thats what I've got! I bought all the same type motherboards together from someone locally who upgraded a whole bunch of workstations and apart from my checking one or two out for specs, and an odd sale here or there they not been touched since I acquired them. The other couple motherboards are mainly from desktops that I wanted the cases for or that I was planning on mining with and haven't yet. Feel free to post or pm with questions about the stuff listed here. I *don't* know exactly what I want for each so please feel free make an offer on what you can use. I'd be interested in bitcoin, local wa transactions possibly, or even trades for other pc parts. I plan on continuing to mine so if you are changing up your gameplan I might be interested in gpus (or ?) that you are not. **edits** Changed things as it seemed prudent to do so, also added non-negotiable motherboard prices in bitcoins.

I am looking for some good socket 775 processors I have some boards that could use some upgrades. Since these are no longer manufactured but still widely used, there is still demand for them for people looking to upgrade, especially the core 2 quad but even for the faster core 2 duo's. I occasionally can find them cheap, but only one at a time and this has grown tiresome. I am not looking for celeron (I typically just give them away) but could be interested in Pentium Dual Core if the price is good. Please let me know what you have and what you will accept for it, including shipping to US. Thanks!
**edits** (bold)
**edit** I can do paypal or ebay I am low on bitcoins but still looking for core 2 quad

So two questions really:
1. Are ALL women on here (female avatars, names I mean) trying to get loans or coin for free one way or another? If so why? I haven't seen any particularly reputable looking women here, no offense intended, just facts.
2. When everyone knows about a dummy account, why is it just allowed? I can't see any real violation but it sure does seem like a waste of space.

This is going to be a busy couple of months for Microsoft. How do you think they will fare? I think all these release dates are so close together there is going to be a major bottleneck in support, especially for their brand new products. I personally think Halo 4 is going to be the only release that goes off "without a hitch."

Looking to avoid "duh" answers to this problem.
Windows vista is utilizing 100% cpu when mining with 3x 5770 cards on a core 2 duo cpu.
using -v -w128 -f60 as flags.

I find myself buying things on amazon every week, does anyone have any gift codes or gift cards?
I occasionally receive the cards as tips (awesome!) and am looking to buy from someone who does also or who just doesn't utilize amazon. I am looking for a better deal than the cash value of the cards, paying out in bitcoins. Let me know!
**edit** aaaaaaannnnd I won't be buying from grantbdev, so offers welcome.
