1  Other / Meta / Older profile than Theymos on: March 07, 2015, 02:37:41 PM
Hello! i was just searching something and my eye happened to fall on the profile uid of our Great admin Theymos .
I was really startled to see it was 35
I was curious to know who were before him , i know satoshi is 3
Sirius is 4

As theymos mentioned ,

The story of how I became head admin is actually pretty boring. Moderators were needed, so I was made a global moderator. Then admins were needed, so I was made an admin. Then over time the other admins slowly lost interest and resigned until I was the only one left.

I see that these profiles doesn't exist which were created before him
2 ,5 ,7 ,8 ,9 ,15 ,18 ,19 ,20 ,25

Does this Belong to past Admins ?

Also amazing that probably Satoshi or Sirius made the account named admin but never used it.

There are many other but all of them left after a while some of them in a day , some in months and some recently .
Keeping in mind how Sirius is also not here , Only Theymos stayed.
I feel like am writting Legends on Theymos Cheesy Cheesy Grin

Anyways just wanted to ask , are the deleted profiles once of admins. Theymos might know it or maybe not since they were before him.
2  Economy / Speculation / Effect of Ulbricht's 50,000 Btc Auction on: March 07, 2015, 09:49:10 AM

On March 5th, 2015, the United States Marshals Service concluded its second online auction of bitcoins seized from Ross Ulbricht. The sealed bid auction was for 50,000 bitcoins divided into two series. The first series comprised ten blocks of 2,000 bitcoins and the second had ten blocks of 3,000 bitcoins. Bidders had to deposit US$ 100,000 for the first series and US$ 150,000 for the second series. The total number of bids stood at 34 from 14 bidders, and the value of the bitcoins at current market rates stands just shy of US$ 14 million.

The winning bidder will be notified on March 6th, 2014, and will be required to wire payment to the USMS by 2:00 pm, Monday, March 9th, 2015

So what do you think, will be the effect of this on market.
The winner will be disclosed on 9-10 march .
What if the Person dumps those coins ?
Are we ready to take such a big hit?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Augur bets on blockchain on: March 06, 2015, 03:35:42 AM
In conversation with CoinDesk, Gardner and Krug sought to portray Augur as a project that plans to use decentralized public ledgers to create a way for anyone in any field, from finance, healthcare and governance, to tap into the collective forecasting power of a global user base.

http://www.coindesk.com/augur-future-blockchain-prediction-market/

"With bitcoin, it’s a better money than what we have, but it's a version of what we have today. We’ve never really had a wildly popular prediction market. We’ve never had these open-source tools to be able to bet on the Internet and turn that into a social good."

"If Augur is successful, there’s a huge opportunity to make money, but we believe that if this succeeds, we’ll have created this world-changing forecasting tool."

White paper of Augur's Project

Seems pretty much interesting and will bring great change to bitcoin community Smiley
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / bitcoin.org using Satoshi's name? on: February 28, 2015, 06:34:32 AM
So i was just going though some old news

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=912442.0

First of all , hope everything's fine now , didn't heard of it again

As this links provide

http://qntra.net/2015/01/theymos-claims-josh-garza-is-sending-him-legal-threats-to-have-content-removed/

This shows the summary of what legal threats was Josh implying on Theymos.
But if you see below , the comments show two names , someone satoshi and one other satoshi nakamoto
I understand that anyone can use any name to comment but why is bitcoin.org using Satoshi nakamoto's name just like this to comment useless things?
How could they?
5  Other / Meta / Who created this forum??? on: February 28, 2015, 05:04:39 AM
As we use this forum and see it!
Theymos is our awesome admin
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35

But i always thought that Theymos created the forum and continued to develop it so well!
Seeing this thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0

Satoshi welcome's everyone to new forum , dumping up the old one .
My question is who exactly created the forum Huh
I always thought it was Theymos , but it seems Satoshi was original creator of this forum.
Then how did Theymos got his admin post , did satoshi appoint him as being one of the early adopter's ?

PS : that is the first post for General people though there were 4 more theads for testing by satoshi
https://bitcointalk.org/first_topics/

Thanks to theymos for providing this to us .
It got some really awesome and great things Cheesy
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / One of Satoshi's BTC address on: February 27, 2015, 07:14:19 PM
This seems to be one of his probable address
It still have 50 btc from 13 jan 2009 , i.e. 10 days after the first Genesis block was mined
Block number 264
https://blockchain.info/address/1CFBdvaiZgZPTZERqnezAtDQJuGHKoHSzg

Just thought to share it with you guys Smiley

EDIT:
Found some more
So this is the Genesis block
http://blockexplorer.com/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa
People have tipped into it for goodluck it seems Cheesy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=70553.0

EDIT :
IT might belong to Hal Finney, as he said

When Satoshi announced the first release of the software, I grabbed it right away. I think I was the first person besides Satoshi to run bitcoin. I mined block 70-something, and I was the recipient of the first bitcoin transaction, when Satoshi sent ten coins to me as a test. I carried on an email conversation with Satoshi over the next few days, mostly me reporting bugs and him fixing them.
7  Economy / Gambling / Bitcoin Kitty Lottery on: February 25, 2015, 08:58:37 AM
Hello! i was just sitting here right now , seeing how people do so much Gambling/ Investment / faucets to earn some btc.
I just got hit by an Idea -
Suppose, 100 people send 0.001 btc to an address that will make it 0.1 btc And than we use random.org to pick two Numbers and any two random people who invested 0.001 btc get 0.05 btc . It's just like gambling or more like Lottery.
But i got a problem , if someone receive's so many of small input's(Dust) ,as we all know , the output will have a larger fees, any idea to avoid that?

14  Local / Markt / [TE KOOP] 2x Radeon HD 6990 OF Miner 1.75mhash/s on: March 22, 2014, 10:33:12 AM

18  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Voorvechter 'legale' bitcoin zelf gearresteerd on: January 27, 2014, 08:43:35 PM
Hier het artikel zelf: http://m.hln.be/hln/m/nl/942/Economie/article/detail/1782196/2014/01/27/Voorvechter-legale-bitcoin-zelf-gearresteerd-voor-witwassen-geld.dhtml?originatingNavigationItemId=1

Quote
