1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / tool for money laundering - true? on: June 15, 2018, 06:05:16 PM
Often you will hear from mainstream media outlets and other opponents that crypto currency is used as a tool for money laundering, drug deals and other forms of illegal activities. I don't know, maybe I just crawled out from under a rock or something and please correct me if I am wrong but hasn't that activity also been going on for a very long time with all forms of fiat currency across the globe?
Seems like a pretty lame argument against crypto to me.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Error loading blkindex.dat on: December 15, 2011, 10:25:45 PM
I've been getting this error lately. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still got the error. Anyone know what I need to do to resolve this problem?
3  Economy / Currency exchange / $60.00 moneypak for BTC[CLOSED] on: August 08, 2011, 04:12:32 AM
Edit: Closed, transaction went smoothly.

Wanting to trade my $60 moneypak for some bitcoins, whatever the rate is at the time the transfer is started because I guess BTC are dropping pretty rapidly right now or whatever.

I'm listed in the honest traders thread numerous times: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484.0

Go there and search my username.

I'm only willing to do transfers with other users listed there since it looks like these forums have been overrun with scammers lately.

I guess I could do a transfer with someone not listed there but you would have to send the BTCs first in that case.
4  Economy / Currency exchange / Greendot Moneypak for BTC on: June 25, 2011, 03:23:56 AM
I have a Greendot Moneypak for $40.36, looking to buy BTC with it. I'm listed multiple times in the Honest Trader's Thread, would prefer to do the transaction with someone who is in that thread as well.
5  Economy / Marketplace / [LOAN - CLOSED] 22BTC will pay back 25-28BTC on: May 10, 2011, 03:35:29 AM
EDIT: Temporarily Closed - Made this topic when BTCs were $3.85. Price just jumped to $4.99. I don't want to be loaned anything until prices stabilize somewhat and I can recalculate everything. FML Reopened.   CLOSED  BTC amounts readjusted.

Looking for a 22BTC loan, I will pay back 25BTC(about $15 USD interest) at the beginning of next month. I get paid on the 30th.  I will cash ~$230 into BTCs using bitcoinexchange or anyone listed in the honest traders thread who will trade BTCs for a moneypak. Plus I'll be running my miner all month.

I'm listed three times in the honest traders thread(Twice for loans similar to this one, once for a sell): http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484.0

(Search my username while in the thread): CryptikEnigma

I always pay off my debts as specified.

If for some reason I am not able to pay you by June 2nd, I will have my miner payout directly to your wallet until 28BTC(instead of 25BTC) is paid.

Example: During the course of my last loan BTC price jumped from .77 cents to $2.75, so instead of getting ~60BTC like I was expecting from Bitcoin4Cash I got ~25BTC(took over two weeks for the B4C transaction -.-). Took me a few extra days but I did pay off 60BTC on a 51BTC loan.(The upside to that was the guy who loaned me the BTCs more than doubled his money in terms of dollars off of that loan)

My bitcoin address is: 1PksKSxdRKF4qqjdD7dZE9rEWQe9CRTJu

I always check my messages here at least once a day. Also, you can PM me and I will give you my IM and e-mail upon request. I'm very easy to get a hold of.

(also, not sure if this counts as buying or selling or if this topic is indeed placed in the right place)
6  Other / Off-topic / New alternative news site: End The Lie on: April 24, 2011, 12:52:28 AM
My buddy from another forum launched this website to compete with the Zeitgeist movement and Infowars.com, both of which he despises, yet he largely agrees with their main platform(End the Fed, End the Wars, etc). Personally I'm an Alex Jones(Infowars.com) fan, but my friend takes issue with some of Alex's sponsors. I've written a few articles for the site but 99.9% of the work has been done by my buddy.

Praises and criticism are welcome.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is the absolute fastest way of turning cash into BTCs? on: April 23, 2011, 03:23:20 PM
I was thinking get a greendot moneypak at like a Wal-Mart or something https://www.moneypak.com/

Then find someone on the forums and do a transaction with clearcoin. Any other fast ways?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ATTN: People who have sucessfully used bitcoin4cash on: April 23, 2011, 04:43:29 AM
How long did the transaction take? It is going on 12 days for me and nothing yet. I've heard people say here on forums that it can take up to 2 weeks, but I'm am starting to get extremely worried here Sad I'm also wondering what on earth would take the mail that long to go from WA to just over the border

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why is the bitcoin value skyrocketing? on: April 22, 2011, 09:17:12 PM
What is causing this?

After being involved with bitcoins for a few weeks and seeing the rate staying at the usual .77, I deiced to use the bitcoin4cash service with an open rate(thinking it'll only rise maybe ten cents tops.) Literally the next day the value started skyrocketing, climbing like 5 cents a day. So while I was expecting ~55-60BTC now it looks like I'm getting around 35BTC when my order finally goes through.

FML

Should have done fixed rate but at the time there was really no reason to want to do that.
10  Economy / Marketplace / [LOAN - Agreement reached] 51BTC will pay back 56BTC on: April 12, 2011, 09:02:43 PM
Looking for a 51BTC loan.(agreement reached) I just put $50 in the mail yesterday using Bitcoin4Cash service. But I just read in the honest trader's thread(which I'm listed in Smiley) that it can take up to a couple weeks(not sure why it would take that long, but there you go) to receive your bitcoins, which kinda sucks because I was hoping to do some shopping this week.

I'll repay as soon as I receive my BTCs from Bitcoin4cash(which I guess could take up to a couple weeks). I also mine ~1BTC a day and if for some reason something goes wrong with Bitcoin4Cash(which I'm sure it won't since it is my understanding the person who runs it is one of the most trusted people on this forum) I'll repay 60BTC instead for the added delay of repayment.

I'm pretty active on the forums so you can always get a hold of me here, or if you do loan me the BTCs and it would make you more comfortable you can request my IM, e-mail, etc in a PM and I will provide you with them. Bitcoin address in sig.
11  Economy / Marketplace / [Small Loan - Agreement Reached - Loan paid off] 8 BTC will pay back 10 BTC on: April 01, 2011, 10:05:02 PM
Looking for a small 8 BTC loan.(Found one) Will pay back 10 BTC.(Paid off) I'm listed in the honest traders thread. Smiley

I currently mine ~1BTC a day, but since I'm in bitcoinpool which is small compared to some of the other pools we sometimes get unlucky and get stuck on a block for more than a day or so. So I'll pay the loan back within 10-20 days. 20 tops, but probably before that. Address is in sig.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Does it take awhile for bitcoins to show up in a clearcoin escrow? on: March 29, 2011, 10:27:09 PM
Edit: Nevermind, apparently it does take awhile to show up. Mods feel free to delete this topic Tongue

Do they have to get confirmed first before it shows up?

Trying to do a transaction but I got:

"Ready to Release

0.00 bitcoins are ready to be released to 1GG1x1Cxb5cDXZopupg87LKATFQzLgnGnf. "

Wondering if I should wait or ask the guy to try again
13  Economy / Invites & Accounts / [SOLD] Call of Duty: Black Ops(Steam Account) on: March 23, 2011, 05:45:44 AM
SOLD

Basically I bought Black Ops on the day it came out. Played it for a week or so and went back to Call of Duty 4. Haven't played it since. So I figured why not sell it here and make myself a few bitcoins. Since I'm new here I understand anyone who wants to use a middle man for the transaction. I'd prefer its a trusted member of this community like a Moderator. I AM ALSO WILLING TO USE CLEARCOIN. So I don't get scammed. I paid $60 for it on release day.

So I'm asking 35BTC which is around $26 PRICE LOWERED TO 30BTC PRICE LOWERED AGAIN TO 25BTC 20BTC OR BEST OFFER.

Included:

Steam Account(Username and Password)
Yahoo E-mail account that is tied to the account.(Which you will need to change the E-mail/Secret Question to your own)

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hi I'm new, I have a few quick questions on: March 23, 2011, 03:55:08 AM
Hi, I just installed bitcoins and got my free 0.05 BTC yesterday(what a nice guy who runs that site BTW). I was a little confused on how generating works, it doesn't generate you free bitcoins does it? That seems too good to be true. It is generating bitcoins into the community as a whole is what I'm thinking? On that same note, what exactly does generating a block do, I read a couple FAQs/wiki but I'm still a little hazy on what exactly that does.

Also, from lurking the forums for a bit today I see a lot of people talking about their khash, so I'm guessing its important. Mine is around 4200-4500 khash/s. Is that good?

I've also seen that using your GPU instead of your CPU is better, how do I do that?

Also, what's a good way to get started making bitcoins? I seen the market section, I think I might try selling my Steam account with Black Ops on it(played it for a week then went back to CoD4 lol). But other than that I'm drawing a blank since I'm completely new to the community and don't know anybody. Any ideas would be welcome.

And finally I'd just like to say I think the philosophy behind bitcoins is awesome. One of my favorite documentaries of all time is Bill Still's 'The Money Masters', which chronicles the evils of central banks and fractional reserve lending.
