4  Other / Off-topic / Fulfilling signature campaign post quota on: September 11, 2014, 06:54:25 AM
So as you can see, I'm in a signature campaign. The problem I sometimes have is finding posts to reply to which often results in me bullying newbies in the lending section, as I can't think of anything else to say. I never was the greatest conversationalist and I seem to get worse the older I get (my brain has probably become pickled by wine).

So I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how they manage to post so much on various topics month after month, or if anyone has the same problem?

I do hope this post is not seen as a shameless attempt to fulfil my daily post count because I certainly wouldn't descend to such depths....
5  Other / Meta / Using account as collateral. on: September 03, 2014, 08:19:31 AM
I would like to know, if someone used their account as collateral on a loan (publicly stated in a post), then defaulted on that loan (provably), would they be able to retrieve their account using the usual method of the signed PM to Theymos or would admin honour their public agreement?

I am not intending to use my account this way, nor give a loan; I was just wondering.

7  Bitcoin / Armory / Cannot scan QR code. on: July 13, 2014, 09:15:53 PM
In the "Address Information" box there is a QR code. I have been trying to scan it using Mycelium, but it won't work. I went to the same address on and the QR is similar, though has differences and can be scanned.

Why is this?

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Historical Bitcoin volume of sales graph? on: June 24, 2014, 06:55:52 AM
Anyone know where I can view a graph of the historical volume of sales of bitcoin?

11  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory failing to load. on: June 03, 2014, 06:51:07 PM
I keep getting this same problem over and over.

When I first install the databases everything works fine. Then I come back after a few days and armory wont load; just crashes out. I found a post on here a while ago saying that is caused by a corrupted bitcoin database and is fixed by deleting both DB and starting again.

So I do that and it works for a few days then crashes again... round and round..

The only thing I can think that could even be relevant is that I'm solo mining (probably isn't relevant at all).

Anyone have an idea what is going on here?

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Finding peers on: November 09, 2013, 05:03:17 PM

I'd like to know, how do the bitcoin clients find peers?

I'm wondering if there is some central "tracker" (like bittorrent), but that would seem to go against what I know so far about bitcoin.

Also, whatever this method is, is it immune to abuse/attack.

Another thing I was wondering was whether the network is vulnerable to a Dos type attack using large numbers of tiny transactions?

I hope that's wordy enough for my first post Smiley
