1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin QT wallet won't sync on: December 29, 2019, 09:41:22 PM
Hey guys,

I'm trying to sync my slimcoin QT wallet, but reading the debug file I get something like this:

mapBlockIndex.size() = 1
nBestHeight = 0
setKeyPool.size() = 100
mapWallet.size() = 0
mapAddressBook.size() = 1
Bound to port 41682

I'm particularly wondering about this portion of the debug file:

addrLocalHost = 192.168.1.109:41682
addrLocalHost = 0.0.0.0:41682

why are there two local host addresses? Shouldn't there only be one? To test this, I ran this same wallet on a different computer and saw that the debug showed only one local host address. Can it be possible that the wallet is getting confused at these two addresses? If so, how can I remove the bottom address (addrLocalHost = 0.0.0.0:41682)?

I'd appreciate any help! Thank you!
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer does not display temperature info for one of the boards on: November 29, 2018, 12:23:07 AM
Hi everyone,

I have an old Antminer S5 laying around…a friend of mine who is curios in mining ask me to show him how it worked.

After turning it on, I noticed that both boards on the miner began hashing, but the temperature information for only one of the boards is displayed (see the image I’ve included).

I realize that mining with an S5 is not at all profitable, but for the sake of curiosity and fixing things, I wanted to know what could be the issue.
Does anyone know why only one of the boards is displaying temperature information?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

3  Economy / Goods / WTB Avalon Nano 3 on: February 15, 2018, 02:46:17 AM
Hey everyone,

I'd like to purchase one or two Avalon Nano 3 miners. Yes, yes I know, these guys are obsolete with today's mining difficulty. This is more of a hobby for me than anything else.

If there is anyone out there that is willing to sell their Avalon Nano 3 miners, please shoot me a message with your offer. Or please point me to a source where I can purchase one.

Thank you!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / sgminer question on: September 18, 2016, 05:02:24 AM
Hello,

I'm trying to solo mine with sgminer. I can't seem to find the command for the payout address. I know in minerd it's "--coinbase-addr=" but that doesn't work on sgminer. Can someone please help me out? I don't really have to work with sgminer if there isn't such a command for it. I just need something that can mine x11.

I'd appreciate any help. thanks!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What is a p2pool? on: September 16, 2016, 01:59:09 AM
Noob warning....

Can someone please explain to me what a p2pool is? I'm trying to solo mine myriad coin, but apparently the wallet doesn't support solo mining...I was told you could use a p2pool as a way to solo mine. Is this true, and if so, how does this work?

Could someone show me how to setup a p2pool for yescrypt on a windows pc?

I'd appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Help!!! Cannot Solo Mine!! on: September 12, 2016, 10:18:20 PM
I'm trying to solo mine myriadcoin. I'm using ccminer. When I start up ccminer I get the following error: HTTP request failed: The requested URL returned error 404

This is my wallet's conf. file:

listen=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
server=1
P2P Port=10888
RPC port=10889
listen=1
maxconnections=32
server=1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.0/24
addnode=85.195.118.163
algo=yescrypt

When I go into the browser and type in the local ip and port I get the following error:
{"result":null,"error":{"code":-32700,"message":"Parse error"},"id":null}

Can someone please help me out? It's been driving me crazy. I've spent hours trying to figure it out and searching the web.

Thanks!
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Does this site really sell mining hardware? on: September 11, 2016, 12:57:06 AM
I came across this website:

Bitmainminer.com

Does anyone know if this is a reputable site...as in if I try to buy something will they actually send it to me?

Thanks!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / CPU only altcoin that you can solo mine on: September 09, 2016, 02:58:32 PM
Hey everyone,

Not sure if I'm posting in the right section, so please forgive me if I'm not. I was looking for a CPU only altcoin that you are able to solo mine with relative ease. By relative ease I mean that you're able to actually mine a block without waiting for weeks.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've searched some in the past but it seems like most of the one's I've seen are from 2-3 years ago and are now dead....at least no one is actively posting on the altcoin's thread. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong direction.

Speaking of wrong direction, is this the section I should visit in order to see any new and upcoming cpu altcoins?

Thanks!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Is Moneta Verde still alive? on: January 23, 2016, 06:55:31 AM
Hey everyone,

I'm a newbie to mining and I'm curious to learn more about altcoins. I came across Moneta Verde and was interested in getting into it for fun. I seem to be having trouble setting up the wallet. This is where I got the wallet from:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=653141.0

When I start the Moneta Verde Daemon, I get the following error: Failed to connect to any of seed peers

I tried to find an example of what a config file should look like and add some peers, but I couldn't find anything online.

The last post on the link above was from quite some time ago, which makes me think that this coin is dead, but I saw that there is a mining pool still available for this coin...so maybe not?

Could someone please help me get this set up?

Thanks!
