I'm interested in BTC/anything as I'm mostly interested in selling and buying BTC and never intend to take fiat out, so it doesn't matter if its USD/EUR/CAD/etc. Take all factors into consideration: security, scalability, usability. EDIT: Since I made this poll, two important developments:Bitcoin-24.com shutdown on Friday. Funds seem to be stuck.Btc-e.com users are having trouble withdrawing coins. Please read the entire thread before choosing an exchange.

Ok so there are a lot of stories popping up that bitcoins dont show up on MtGox even after many confirmations. Which is a decent functioning exchange? (no Nigerian exchanges please ) I just want to dump a few bitcoins and buy when they are low. Can't be sure I can do this on MtGox as of now.

Its time we figured out a truly decentralized way to exchange btc for fiat. Title is not typo.

To whoever that is playing with the market.
Please hold off a big dump until we cross $1820, preferably this year... I need to pay off some loans.. Let me know a day or so before dumping.

Would like some data about market depths of the two currencies with USD or even each other? How much volume of LTC would it take to move the market significantly, and same with BTC.

One of my friends want to buy BTC worth 1000 USD. The payment can be in INR and/or USD, and also via meetup in Bangalore. Please respond or pm me to discuss.

So some of you will have a lot of BTC, and it is imperative that you secure them properly. Here are some of the threats: - Trojans on your computer can steal your bitcoins
- Online wallets where your private key is stored are not safe (they can get hacked (Bitomat, etc), or run away with your bitcoins
For storing large amount of bitcoins, the following wallets are not recommended - Instawallet (stores private key on server, url based secrecy)
- Coinbase (stores private key on server)
- Any exchange (mtgox, etc) (can get hacked any time)
- Any wallet on Tor (can disappear anytime)
- Closed-source or properietary wallets for which you need the actual software
Even the Bitcoin-qt wallet and blockchain.info wallets are not recommended for large amount of BTCBTCBTC. The best bet is to put your coins in cold-storage as described here (Hybrid Paper Wallet Tutorial)Few things to note about using a blockchain.info or bitcoin-qt wallets. Always set to backup the wallet frequently. The best thing to do would be create a offline paper wallet and regularly transfer all funds to that secure address. Be sure to keep multiple copies of the paper in case of fire, etc.

I had a few ltc but wasted them on experimenting. I also didn't steal the 6 LTC from the "circle of trust" Can anyone spare a few LTC? also point me to some good LTC java libraries and web-wallets apart from btc-e. LTsiqpNHxN7pShS13XbQYCGDFmFYdMq4fN I tried mining but getting only Hashes per second (No mega/kilo). Something wrong with my setup.

I have a bitcoin spinner wallet (cool app) with 0.007 btc. I need to extract them to my other wallet to use. The app neither lets me spend them (not enough fee) not lets me export keys to another different wallet. When I export the key from bitcoinspinner, i get a text file with following content: bsb:some-base58-encoded-string?net=0 From this page, I figured that the backup is just a seed to the key generator, so I need the actual key, not the seed. http://code.google.com/p/bitcoinspinner/source/browse/trunk/BitcoinSpinner/src/com/miracleas/bitcoin_spinner/SettingsActivity.java?r=78&spec=svn85Is there any way for me to import that key into blockchain.info? I tried all different import options but it doesn't seem to work. That address is "watch only"

Both are a gamble. If I want to make more bitcoins, which is a better strategy? dump and buy on Mtgox or play satoshidice? or a combination?
