1  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-15] Taiwan Central Bank Chief Cautious on Central Bank Crypto on: March 15, 2018, 01:36:04 PM
The new governor of Taiwan's central bank has said speculation has taken over from cryptocurrencies' original role as a payments tool.

Earlier this year, while still in his role as deputy chief of the central bank, Yang Chin-long indicated that the central bank has started the evaluation of the benefits and challenges of a central bank-issued cryptocurrency.

In responses to lawmakers at a meeting with the island's legislative arm today, though, he argued that cryptocurrencies are not fulfilling their originally intended function in payments, according to a report from Taiwan's Apple Daily.

Although he had "wanted to go in that direction," cryptocurrencies have since become a commodity with extreme volatility due to market speculation, he said.

The central bank is now observing experiments conducted in other regions and "doing experimentation," but "we can't go as far as announcing we plan to issue digital New Taiwan dollar yet," he said.

I guess there is some truth to it. Cryptocurrencies are far away from being used in commercial transactions or what it was intended for. It's merely being used for speculative investments.
2  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-03-13] Large Mining Farm Discovered in Abandoned Russian Factory on: March 13, 2018, 08:28:46 AM
By Lubomir Tassev

A large illegal facility for mining bitcoin was discovered by police in the Russian city of Orenburg. The farm has been set up on the premises of an abandoned factory. The masterminds of the crypto project have stolen electricity worth 60 million rubles. They risk years of imprisonment.

One of Russia’s Biggest
Investigating unusual consumption of electricity, police in the Russian city of Orenburg came across one of the largest facilities for cryptocurrency mining in the country. The unknown miners have illegally set up their farm in a closed-down plant, plugging the cables into the nearby transformer station.

In what Russian media described as “a scene from The Matrix”, investigators found racks upon racks of mining processors. The farm was equipped with powerful application specific circuits, and not the ordinary video cards, used by amateur miners.

That is a lot of stolen electricity and for sure the people that operated these mining farms are for sure rich as hell now!
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Men only. Are you daring enough to have a boob job to complete a bet? on: March 06, 2018, 09:26:20 PM
So, during my browsing of the internet and I've again fell down the rabbit hole into the weird parts of the internet, I stumbled upon an article about a gambler who had breast implants to complete a bet. He walked away with $100,000 in 1996, which was a lot of money back then and even today. The bet parameters involve that he get breast implants and leave it for one year, however the guy fell in love with it and only had it removed after 20 years (in 2016).

If you were the guy, would you have done it?

Do you have any other crazy bets with your friends? Please share.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How likely will there be a chain-split for X2? on: October 31, 2017, 09:21:51 PM
Another possible fork is coming up this november, how likely do you guys think would there be a chain-split? If you think it will, do you think the new coin will topple Bitcoins and it will be "The Bitcoin"?

I think if it happens, though, it would still take a while before the dust settles. So, it would take some time before we can all know which chain to follow.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Does bitcoin's price volatility affect your gambling habits? on: September 08, 2017, 10:37:14 AM
So does this factor affect how you gamble?

If prices go up, do you lower you bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you lower it to 0.0001 per bet?

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / If today was your last day, would you gamble everything? on: January 09, 2017, 03:16:34 PM
So, I heard the song from Nickelback titled "if today was your last day?"

I thought if today was my last day, would I gamble everything since I wouldn't have any use for this money when I die.

My answer was no at the time. Because I was thinking about my family, especially my kid. What would he eat tomorrow, if I lose everything? Then again, what if I win from just one yolo bet? Like bet every penny I have in one bet. What if I win that and give my kid twice what I could give.

What do you guys think?
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / If bitcoin prices rise up to $100,000, will you still gamble using bitcoins? on: December 20, 2016, 08:48:45 AM
When that time comes that the price of bitcoins will be $100,000 will you still gamble in casinos and sports books?

If the price of bitcoin is $100,000

0.001BTC/1mBTC/100,000Satoshi = $100
0.0001BTC/0.1mBTC/10,000Satoshi = $10
0.00001BTC/0.01mBTC/1,000Satoshi = $1

1 Satoshi = $0.001

Hey folks, im trying to create a relatively safe script for dice and crash sites (like freebitco.in and bustabit/csgocrash), but i don't have enough btc to test it, so i ask you to contribute, making donations or creating a program that simulates these sites, i appreciate very much, thanks.

Edit: My btc address is 12UxzCy3qivk3chPNyHJtzoTgvFcgd3siL
Edit2: If you're gonna try to develop the program, remember that it must accept js, cause i only code in js
Edit3: If the script work, i'll share it for free, no ads, nothing
