1  Other / Politics & Society / Democrats & Debt on: July 20, 2011, 06:00:06 AM
The graphs below show that Democrats are incapable of managing the U.S economy.

Republicans always inherit governments containing fiscal time-bombs. They battle against the culture created by the previous democratic government only to be thrown out of office. Democrats inherit a government of strong fiscal position. Bill Clinton in particular inherited the good works of Bush senior. The American people realized this and decided that they would remove Bill Clinton in favor of Bush Junior. Unfortunately Bush Junior inherited a fiscal mess from the Clinton administration. But the American people have made the same mistake again by electing President Obama.

Lets try to understand this more closely.

This graph clearly shows consecutive Republican governments attempting to reduce the government spending created by the previous democratic governments. But to no avail. The American people realized that Clinton was secretly implementing programs of massive government spending. Luckily Bush Junior was elected, because if Clinton was allowed to continue the damage would have been much worse. Thank God for all of those fiscal conservatives that removed Clinton. And as it can be seen Bush is fighting a losing battle against the large spending programs started by Bill Clinton.

Now lets look at government revenues.

Republicans are very efficient operators. They extract the bare minimum from the American people, where as the Democrats are greedy and need lots of money to fund their big spending habits. Look at Bill Clinton, this guy thought he was clever, but he was wrong, the American people were on to him. He tried to extract significant sums of money from the American people and implement lots of secret big spending government programs. But he was undone! The Republicans were elected to return American to strong fiscal standing. Bush Junior was able to fight two wars and reduce taxes. Why can't the Democrats do this ? And they wonder why the American people are unhappy.

Americans Its Time.

Democrats == Debt

Republicans == Responsible

Outlaw the Democrats. Being a Democrat is unconstitutional. Its unlawful. Its evil. Americans must remove Obama before he commits the same evils as Clinton.  Americans must engage in a unrelenting battle to spread the message of the Republican Goodness. The media must be used to spread the word of the Republican message, at all costs, and even subliminally. The American people must have their senses saturated with the message of the Republican Goodness.

Only then will America be liberated of the perpetual Debt Disease caused by Democrats.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Island Economics: Forced Education on: June 28, 2011, 07:21:50 AM
There is a small island with five people. A fisher-men, water collector, coconut collector, trash processor and someone in-charge of building and maintaining shelter. Another person comes along, he has no skills to offer to the community. The other members of the community offer to teach them how to fish. The newcomer refuses. Should the community forcibly teach the newcomer to fish?

Assume they have the means to force teaching.

Assume this is a "good person" and they will fish for the community once they are taught.

[Edit] Assume the person will die if he does not fish.

My personal preference is yes they should be taught.

I am wondering if anyone knows a term that summarizes these three words?

I think that there should be a term that satisfies these three different ideas.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Anarchy =~ Communism on: June 27, 2011, 03:41:42 AM
In my mind, there is no difference between Anarchy and Communism, both are based on lawlessness, mutual benefit and a non-existent human hierarchy.

This is despite on all scales and across all times of the universe there is hierarchy. From the structure of the atom, to the evolution of life, the way networks process traffic, the existence of solar systems, the fractal structure of weather systems and galaxy super-clusters there is a hierarchy where something is apart of the whole. Your telling me that somehow we humans, us mere little people are so special that we are above this rule.

That there is something so magnificent, so amazing about us that the system you propose will somehow just completely disregard this fundamental law of the universe. Your telling me that despite the recent human hierarchies, the hierarchies of our primate cousins and all other lifeforms that we are so so so special, that we are god-like and do not belong in this category.

We are gods and that we are above the rest of the universe and we are capable of creating a system that does not obey the universe. So when you say that this new Society is great, because we will be all “fundamentally equal, there will not be a hierarchy”, remember to wipe your mouth with toilet paper once you’ve finished speaking. Because what you just said is the abstract logical equivalent of what I hear at church. That your system is above the mechanics of the universe and that's why it will work.

This why I don't bother reading about such fantasies.

"A further examination of the 39-year period extending from the end of the Nixon administration until 2008 shows the Swedish economy, known for its high taxes and heavy regulation, growing at a significantly higher rate than the US."

6  Economy / Economics / The bad of High Frequency Trading on: April 19, 2011, 12:50:16 AM
I recall in some other thread mentioning that there are some aspects of high frequency trading that play no role in reflecting supply/demand for goods.

And here is the link: http://www.themistrading.com/article_files/0000/0348/Toxic_Equity_Trading_on_Wall_Street_12-17-08.pdf
7  Economy / Economics / How does new "Base Money" enter the economy? on: April 10, 2011, 07:44:59 AM

[Edited after the 9th post]: The title of the topic has been changed from

How does freshly minted money enter the economy to its current title.

Sorry for the inconvience.

Fairly basic question I know, can't find a definitive answer. And I'm not talking about liquidity, M0 capital requirements, etc, and I'm not talking about currency entering via government spending.
8  Other / Off-topic / Ideologies in terms of evolution on: April 10, 2011, 05:37:17 AM
I generally think of different ideologies in terms of evolution:

e.g

Capitalism -> natural evolution, no manipulation of fitness space

Socialism,Communism -> manipulated fitness space with: fitness penalties for high performers(disproportional taxes) and fitness benefits for disadvantaged(social benefits).

There seems to be a huge cross-over how currently these different ideologies are defined and leads to opponents discussing definitions rather than which system is actually more beneficial. Its like arguing over the length of a piece of string.....  its quite clear there is a problem with the argumentative framework used.

I believe (maybe one day a mathematician will show) that all ideologies can be transposed into "Theory of evolution logic space".

We know that the theory of evolution is proven.

10  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin Failure is likely on: March 26, 2011, 02:36:11 AM
Now that I've caught your attention, I believe that there is one fundamental flaw with the bitcoin model, failure to be recognized by any authority.

If it is failed to be recognized, then the value cannot be guaranteed. Modern day currencies are recognized as payment by a authorities within the country of issuance, e.g the government recognizes them as payment for taxes, etc, and once upon a time the value was guaranteed by gold.

It has been brushed upon in another thread1.

Essentially the problem is this, firstly Bitcoin shows

It is possible to have a currency without a central banking authority.
                 That implementation is not difficult.

So why are these issues? Whats stopping a different another crypto-currency with exactly the same attributes as bitcoin? And by extension I believe that there will be competing crypto-currencies forming a "crypto-currencies market". This takes away one essential property that makes bitcoin by itself appealing.

The amount of crypto-currency in circulation is no longer pre-determined, rather it is infinite.

How is this achieved? If an entity does not want to recognize the value of a particular crypto-currency then they will simply start their own. Hence crypto-currencies will be plentiful.

There needs to be an attribute of bitcoin that mimics the same function as these authorities. Until then as long as it is easy to create a crypto-currency, I believe that bitcoin will be nothing more than an academic study. Nonetheless, I think that maybe crypto-currency systems will be adopted within companies as the company can force recognition of currency within itself and possibly governments/countries will adopt bitcoin-like currency systems, this I believe can have some real social benefits.

The technical design of bitcoin is worthy of a Nobel-prize, as I'm sure that there will be many benefits to humanity in the long run. However this isn't really about the quality of the code, imo the quality of the code and review process is proven by the use of an opensource model. It's more about properties that currently are not in the code, whether such properties can be coded, and the fact this problem is not being discussed.

Anyways I hope I'm wrong, I really do.
