What is being sold: 4-module Avalon Batch 3 w/o PSU pre-order Order # 88xx paid for on March 26th
When it is expected to be shipped: Within 2 business days of my receiving it.
How will it be shipped: Buyer must request shipping company/method and pay the cost of shipping + (optional) insurance

4  Economy / Auctions / [WTS] 4-module Batch 3 Avalon Pre-order on: June 27, 2013, 07:12:07 PM
Due to an unfortunate and unforeseen change in my housing situation, I do not believe that I'll be able to run my long-anticipated B3 baby. As such, after much thought I've decided to sell my 4-module pre-order (a decision made even harder by the revelations contained in the following thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242423.0;all).

Now on to the fun part, terms and all that:

I'm not going to play the numbers game and convince you if/why this is a good buy. If in your opinion this isn't worth it, then don't buy it (duh!) but make sure to leave your opinion in this thread or call me a name or frankly whatever you want to do as the bumps will be greatly appreciated (I trust that whoever is interested in this unit will have already done the math for themselves, checked that math, and maybe even had a friend check it as well just to be sure).

I'm pretty sure that I've covered just about everything here, but if I have not please feel free to ask about any details I may have forgotten.

Happy bidding and may your Avalon arrive quickly and hash as fast as cheetah  Grin
5  Bitcoin / Mining support / First time miner questions on: April 09, 2013, 05:33:09 AM
I apologize in advance for the following obnoxiously newbie questions/mild rambling.

I have been following bitcoin ever since the summer of 2011 and greatly believe in bitcoin. I have never mined before, but when the opportunity to buy and ASIC presented itself in the form of a batch 3 Avalon, I couldn't resist. I'm estimating that I have about 2 months (hopefully not much longer) before the ASIC arrives and in that time I need to learn as much as possible about... well... everything!

I suppose the very first question is if I plan on running the Avalon from a dedicated laptop that I have yet to buy, what are the recommended specs (RAM? Processor speed? Any specific CPU?) Will I be able to set up the miner on Windows 7 or 8 or would it be better to use linux (I'd have to learn how to use this OS, but it's something that's been on my to-do list for a while)?

Thank you all very much in advance for your time!
