2  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Bitcoin debit kaart on: March 21, 2020, 09:43:41 AM
Vraagje mensen,

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Full node on Raspberry 3: Out of memory on: January 03, 2020, 12:09:38 PM
Hi,

As the topic states:

1. I have a Raspberry 3+
2. I downloaded the binaries from bitcoincore.org
3. I have a simple bitcoin.conf which only states it should run as a daemon.
4. Everything fully updated.

And this happens:

4  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / De Bitcoin voorspellingen voor 2020 on: December 27, 2019, 01:11:30 PM
Hier komen mijn voorspellingen  Grin

  • Mainstream media blijft negatief over Bitcoin

5  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Waar goud kopen? on: July 09, 2019, 09:40:54 PM

Alvast bedankt!

6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum 3.34, Cosigner Signing not working on: March 29, 2019, 07:29:37 AM
Hi,

- I created a 2 of 3 multisig wallet
- installed two wallets on different machines
- Sent some satoshi to the multisig wallet
- Sathi appears on both wallets
- On both wallets enabled "Cosigner Pool" plugin
- Restarted both wallets

I try to send 5$ from my wallet to a test wallet. When I press send and enter my password, I see the 'Send to Cosigner' plugin.

I press this button, but nothing happens on wallet 2. I restart wallet 2 but still nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong? Whelp!
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Multisig - How to restore 2of3 when 1 key is lost on: March 24, 2019, 06:13:04 PM
Hi,

Situation: I have a 2of3 multisig setup using Electrum, I printed every seed on a piece of paper and put every paper in a different location. I remove all Electrum installations/wallets so all I have left is 3 papers with each of them one seed.

What happens: Location 3 burns down, only two seeds left in different locations. I now want to move my BTC to a new wallet.

To recover, I need to move my BTC using two signatures, so the idea is to set up two wallets 1 and 2 which information I still have, and move my BTC to a new wallet.

Wallet 1:
- I start Electrum
- I enter my 1st seed which I have, continue...
- I enter the 2nd cosigner xpub key which I have, continue....
- It asks my for the 3rd cosigner key.... the one that went up in flames.......

And here i'm stuck.........

This is not a real situation i'm having here, just drawing one because I'm interrested in using multisig, but want to know 100% sure i'm able to recover in case of emergency.

Can anyone here tell me what to do in this situation?

8  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Help! Does this multi-sig plan work? on: March 24, 2019, 12:24:55 PM
Hi,

I'm trying to figure out a way to be more secure, but i'm unsure if this plan is working, I need more technical advice.

What i've done: I've set up a 2-3 multisig wallet using Electrum on my computer and sent some satoshi to it. I've sent some satoshi from that multisig wallet by creating a signed transaction with wallet 1, and signed that transaction with wallet 2 and the transaction was approved, all satoshi's moved to a different wallet successfully.

I'm thinking about the following plan:

The idea: In case one site burns down, I always have the information of all three keys spread over two sites and I will always be able to access my BTC.

Here's what confuses me and why I need technical help

1) When looking at the picture above, you see every site contains the seed and xpub of 2 wallets. Imagine burglary at site 1 and the thief steals the information (seed + xpub) of key's 1 and 3. Will he be able to access/send tx with that information?
Reason I'm asking: Electrum asks me to provide the information of all 3 wallets.

2) I could successfully send tx using 3 Electrum Windows clients. I wasn't able to spend satoshi's using 1 wallet, HOWEVER: when I moved one of the seeds to the Android Electrum wallet, I was able to spend everything without any other signature at all! TX already got confirmed 8 times! How is this possible?

- Zeer lage dekkingsgraad banken.
- Een derivatenmarkt van 1.2 biljoen USD
- Rechtse politieke wind (Trump, Le Pen, 5 Sterren beweging, AFD)
- Brexit
- Handelsoorlog

10  Economy / Economics / NYSE:ICE offering BTC derivatives, what will happen with price? on: August 10, 2018, 03:04:16 PM
Hi people,

Hoping to see a healthy discussion here about this. Caitlin Long mentioned a two edged sword a few days ago: NYSE:ICE derivatives where investors buy 'paper bitcoins'. NYSE:ICE buys 100.000 and holds BTC (which directly influences the price up), but then sells this to their customers and leverage everything. Example: they let 100 of their customers buy 50.000 BTC from them, not onchain and in a true bitcoin wallet but on their BAKKT app.

What limits are on leveraging? What are your thoughts on this? How will it affect the price? Why would any investor be interested in this?
11  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Exchanges, Tether en money supply on: October 30, 2017, 08:30:43 AM
Ha luitjes,

Via twitter kwam ik dit tegen:
https://twitter.com/Bitfinexed/status/924704580931289088

[edit]

Ik houd even dit plaatje aan:

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin vs Bitcoin2X - November, whats it gonna be for you? on: August 09, 2017, 08:24:21 AM
Hi Community!

Still a few blocks for the 'technical lock-in' and we will 'probably' have Segwit in roughly 2 weeks. Does that finally end the scaling-debate? Personally I don't think so, as scaling will always remain an issue. In a couple of weeks we can celebrate the power of UASFs and Bitcoins technical progression for a short period. After that, reality will kick back in and all of us will face another big question: 2X or BTC?

The 2X part of the New York agreement states:
- A large part of mining power will be taken from BTC and moved to 2X
- A lot of Exchanges have agreed on exchanging 2X
- A lot of wallets have agreed on supporting 2X

An important note: Bitcoin Core does NOT support 2X

My personal view and choice: I think 2X will fail, and thus many people see it as another airdrop and sell when they think the price is right for it.

I know i cannot speak for the entire community, but to me it feels like some people (miners) are trying to force the community towards 2X and making choices for us, while none of us wants 2X, just a few miners. We are being forced by a group of people who have their economic incentives. Imho, the ultimate reason Bitcoin is a success, is because it gives you ultimate freedom. No one is forced, everything is free, it has a truly magnificent development team who put security, continuation, efficiency and Satoshi's white paper first. Core does not have economic incentives, miners do.

I truly believe that the community follows Core, and not a group of miners that force us in their hands by using hashrate power. I support Bitcoin Core, and the more support in the community i see for it, the faster i will dump the 2X coin.

** Note: 2X is planned for November. I personally doubt they will make it as it i feel development needs more time, and miners/exchanges can pull out of NYA.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tether, anyone using it? on: August 07, 2017, 08:50:15 AM
I like the idea of being able to move my holdings out quickly.

I tried it, it works fine, except I'm missing complete transparency on Audits. They claim to have 320M USD in store and say "Our reserve holdings are published daily and subject to frequent professional audits". Where can i find these audit results? Who is auditing exactly what?

So far I'm not really impressed about their so called '100% transparency'.

Anyone using it or have more information about their audits?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tether and its transparancy on: June 14, 2017, 02:13:24 PM
Hi folks!

"One Tether (USDT) is always backed by one 1USD."

The token is premined, according to Coinmarketcap there are 127,493,815 USDT circulating, which means Tether needs to hold 127,493,815$ in stock correct? According to a couple of sites, their balances can be verified right here: https://wallet.tether.to/transparency

What i don't understand: how does that tell you they actually have that amount of money in store and have all the USDTs backed? They can put whatever they want up there? "Yeah no worries dude we got the dollars here in a safe, you just get your USDT bro, no worries. Just take a look at our site, see? It says we got it."

They claim they got their bankaccounts and papers checked by 'professionals' on regular basis, but where can i verify that? Shouldn't they at least not be listing who is auditing them so we can do some more investigation?

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is history going to repeat itself? on: May 24, 2017, 01:06:38 PM
I mean come on.... are you kidding me? Huh Huh

Look at this chart:

Have we forgot about december 2013?  Shocked

I have people at my work talking about fucking Masarati's ffs, while a lot of pro's completely burn the 'agreement' that has been made yesterday by greedy shitheads like Roger Ver and Jihan Wu (no core devs involved). Alts are going crasy atm because news keeps flooding in from Consensus 2017. I wonder everybody is still with 2 feet on the ground?
17  Economy / Speculation / Will the BTC go through $700 barrier before halving? on: June 12, 2016, 09:41:04 AM
Hi,

This 1,5 week the BTC had trouble breaking through the 588$ barrier, and after watching football last night, I check the BTC price and got surprised in a very positive way: $610$ and climbing. At the moment it is 630$+

We are getting closer and closer to halving, what pricerange do you guys expect at 1 July?
18  Other / Beginners & Help / A message from a complete bitcoin newbie, a regular, saying hello bitcoin word! on: January 24, 2016, 11:22:57 PM
Hi everyone,

One month ago Bitcoin caught my eye again. After it dropped dramatically (from $1100 to $150?) i couldnt really be bothered to read any BTC related shit, but i got suprised when i read a new article about the BTC going 400+ again... What is this Bitcoin? How does it work? How is it possible this technology is not dead in a world controlled by what i call 'the eilite'? Is it possible 'the elite' can't get rid of it? Is it really true you can sell one BTC for 400$? How is this thing still alive? How the fuck does it work?

I wanted to find out what this bitcoin really is. For me, as a regular, it felt i had to leave the 'normal'  and 'safe'  internet and had to enter a unknown different area of the internet with some possible dark corners in it. I saw messages and news items everywhere, telling me it was unsafe, telling me it was marvelous, telling me it was next-gen, telling me you will get bankrupt and all kinds of other stuff. I didn't really trusted the whole business until i came across a very decent site which told me in a clear Youtube video what the bitcoin really was. Need information? Call us! Or visit us on our next meeting! It was a video dedicated to normal people like me, instead of financial guru's.

I went back to the internet and wanted to learn more about this system, and altough i'm technician, i was surprised i couldn't understand half of how it works, but the terms 'peer-to-peer' and decentralized really got me thinking. Wait, is it seriously true this 'more or less works like Napster' but 40x more sophisticated, that central banks cannot control? This can only work when people widely accept it? But the price just went up again, so people seem to accept it?

It took me just one day to figure out, that BTC IS revolutionary. I did bought a couple of BTCs and once they arrived in my wallet (and noticed cool stuff like other nodes acknowledge the transcation) it felt like i opened a door, with a new world behind it. A digital world where payments are 'as good as' anonymous, instant, and most important: not controlled by the elite.

I noticed a lot of speculations where BTC lovers are hoping it will eventually reach the 'normal citizen'. Although i'm IT Staff, for some reason the company i bought the BTCs took away the barrier for me to at least take a look at it, and convinced me that BTC is something very unique, very exciting. Altough its future is not yet totally clear, lots of the technique behind it is marvelous, amazing, and normal people like me realize that the more people invest in it, the bigger it gets, and the bigger WE as normal people get.

I think the BTC is revolutionary but is still in the 'dark and unknown area' of the internet for the simple reason i had to push myself though a emotional barrier to buy a couple. That's where  it got developed for good reasons but for it to move on, it needs to leave that area. People need to understand that Bitcoin isnt complex and revolutionary at all, they need to understand that it is 'just another currency'.

It will imho be the biggest problem of all: how do you spread this word in a world that is in control of the elite, that controls media, banks and currency. The fact that no matter all the negative news spread out, the price of one BTC stills keeps rising, gives me hope there is a chance my generation could see the very beginnings of humanity globally making their first steps in a decentralized world where value and interest is not beeing manipulated.

I think BTC is revolutionary, it's beautiful, so beautiful it can't be neglected.
