2  Bitcoin / Mining / SCAM ALERT! Anyone else got this shit? on: June 10, 2011, 12:48:34 PM
Anyone else got this shit?

Hi Jason,

Long time I have not seen you on IRC? What's up?
I do not know if you still use DiabloMiner on your GPU cluster?

I have bought the same config you have and I have tested DiabloMiner
on it. I can produce 3Gh/s. That's quite good.

Yesterday I have talked with Alex, he has developped an optimizated version of DiabloMiner.
He has committed the soft on github: https://github.com/speedygonzalez/OptDiabloMinerII

I have tested it, it's quite good, I can produce 1Gh/s more. You may try it...

I hope to see you soon on IRC!!!

4  Bitcoin / Mining / Third card doesn't work on: June 02, 2011, 02:42:28 PM
I am running Windows 7 32bit
Motherboard Gigabyte AM3 AMD 870 DDR3 ATX (SATA 6G/s USB 3.0)
I have 3 XFX 5870

The problem is that I can't get the third card to work. The two that are in pcie x16 slots are working fine. If I plug the third to pcie x1 via extender Windows doesn't recognize it. I've tried dummy plugs and even plugging in monitors, but still no luck.
However, if I take the two card from x16 slots and leave only the one in x1 it boots up fine and I can start mining on it.

What do you guys think could be the problem?

10  Bitcoin / Mining / Mining in UK/EU. Hardware info on: May 12, 2011, 06:02:59 PM
Mining seems quite addictive, so I'm here once again looking for your help.

I would like to build a dedicated mining rig.
For the psu I chose this

What are the cheapest options for 2+ cards motherboard and processor here in UK/EU? I'll be using 5870/5850s if that matters

I noticed that in USA hardware is very cheap in comparison to UK, so I would like to know maybe there are some places in EU where prices are more reasonable?
11  Bitcoin / Mining / 5870 = free beer on: May 10, 2011, 11:26:39 PM
My friend and I were enjoying beer when suddenly it dawned on us - we could have beer for free every day for the rest of our lives. So we bought this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-147-XF&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1711

Anyways, my questions are:

1. 32bit is windows or linux better? (xp/vista/7/ubuntu/centos/other?)
2. What is currently the best miner. Electricity is free so we are looking for the fastest miner.
3. What are the best setting for it. edit: it's going to be a dedicated miner
4. Is it worth overclocking? How big is the risk of damaging the card? Does it invalidate warranty?

I tried searching for answers but there are millions of post contradicting each other and I know that miners get updated frequently so they probably out of date too, hence this thread.

If you could post what speed you're getting with what settings, that be cool too.

Thanks

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Turn miner on/off on: May 05, 2011, 02:00:26 PM
I would like my miner to turn on/off at a specific time of day. What is the best way to go about it? Has anyone maybe got a script for that? Solutions for both Linux and Windows are welcome.

What we have here is my iPhone 3G 16GB. It's about 2 years old. I bought it new from cardphone warehouse. It comes with original box and everything that came with it. Make me an offer. Bitcoins only

If you live in London I could arrange delivery for an extra 5 BTC on top of whatever we agree. If you live in EU, it would cost you 10 BTC. If anyone interested from US, i'll have to contact post office for a quote.
