Anyone up for a game of trivia? We need some more people to get a good game going. @bittrivia.com
2  Economy / Gambling / BitTrivia.com - play trivia for Bitcoin on: December 27, 2012, 07:31:05 PM
I just launched a new website a few days ago at:
www.bittrivia.com.

You can compete against other players answering trivia questions.

After you make an account (quick and anonymous), you can send bitcoin to the btc address shown under your name to deposit money to the site. Or you can play a few rounds without bidding to see how it works. During the guessing phase, try to answer the question as fast as you can - either from trivia knowledge or from being able to google quickly. If you're the first person to correctly answer it, you win up to how much you bid from each of the other players. It is also possible to win if you didn't answer it first, if there is still money left over in the pot, and you bid higher than the first person.

The way it works is similar to poker with side pots. If the first person to correctly answer bid 0.01 BTC, they are entitled to up to 0.01 BTC from each player. If the second place person bid 0.02 BTC and there is money still left in the pot, they can get bitcoin up to the amount they bid from each player - and so on down the line. Money left over in the pot is returned to the players that bid it.

After you are done playing, you can cashout to any bitcoin address. Cashouts are instantaneous so long as there is at least one confirmation on your deposit.

Check it out, it's a lot of fun!
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Free bitcoin for answering trivia :-) on: December 22, 2012, 12:56:11 AM
In an effort to promote the site, I'm offering free bitcoin for anyone who answers trivia questions right, if no one else has bid and they are the first person to answer the question. You do not have to make a deposit to the website. Right now there are long periods of time without any bidding activity, so you have a good shot at getting some!

Make sure to press enter after you type in your answer! Also, Googling is allowed.

I plan to restructure the way that winning works so that people without bitcoin can always win free bitcoin from the site if they win, even if others have bid. Basically it will be set up like poker with side pots where multiple people can win different portions of the pot depending on how much they bid and the order that they came in. A person who has not bid will always be able to win a certain amount directly from the site (not part of the pot). This will be coming shortly - maybe this weekend.

Thanks for checking out the site!

Here's a trivia game I made where you can play trivia for bitcoin:

www.bittrivia.com

Basically the way it works is you create an account and send bitcoin to the address listed. In about 10 seconds the bitcoin will be credited to your account and you can start playing!

Everyone bids a certain amount of bitcoin.
After the bidding round is over, a trivia question is shown.
The first person to correctly answer the trivia question wins everyone else's bitcoin up to the amount that they bid.
When you're done playing, you can cashout to a bitcoin address.

I'd love to get feedback on what you all think!

I've been lurking in the forums for several months, but this is the first time that I've actually made an account and posted. If you guys think this game is a neat idea, I'd really appreciate it if someone could repost this in General Discussion or another board.
