Currently the most popular instrument is BTC/USD-12.2013, total volume: $517 820, Open Interest: 12 713 contracts.
The instrument with highest total volume is BTC/USD-09.2013, total volume: $1 426 350, Open Interest: 6 644.
Leverage is approximately 1:5
Other instruments include bitcoin difficulty, S&P500 and LTC/BTC futures.

New trading instrument added to the https://icbit.se platform: LBU3 LTC/BTC futures contract.

You can buy contracts to profit from the LTC price rise (relative to BTC) or sell contracts if you expect the opposite.
Contracts are settled in BTC, lot size is 10 LTC, settlement date: 17.09.2013 20:00 UTC

Напомню, что для ставки на повышение курса надо покупать контракты, а чтобы поставить на падение - надо их продавать.

Bitcoin difficulty "futures" are added as an instrument on our https://icbit.se trading platform.
Now you can try to guess the difficulty and get your exact profit or loss instead of just using the discrete bets on bitcoin betting sites :)

Ticker: DFU3, measured in thousands of difficulty, so 77 000 price means bitcoin difficulty 77 000 000
One contract moves 0.00001 BTC per one thousand of difficulty change.
How to use: if you think that bitcoin difficulty at 16 Sep 2013 will be higher than some specific value (77 000 000, for example), then you BUY DIFF-9.13 contracts at this price. If you think that it will be lower than some value then you SELL contracts at that price.

Let's imagine that you bought 100 contracts at 77 000. You would need to have ~16 BTC on your account for this.
If the difficulty at 16 Sep 2013 will be 87 mln, then the difference between your position and reality will be 10 000 units of one thousand each.
10 000 (difference) * 0.00001 (lot size) * 100 (contracts quantity) = 10 BTC of profit
Fees will consist of 0.0001 BTC * 100 (contracts quantity) * 2 (number of operations: 1 buy and 1 settlement) = 0.02 BTC, or 0.2% in this case.
Buy and sell operation fees have volume discounts so it can be up to 50% cheaper.
If your guess was wrong and difficulty turned out to be less, then P/L is the opposite. Or you should have been selling, not buying contracts.

Теперь вместо заключения пари на сайтах типа betsofbitcoin, вы можете попытаться угадать будущую сложность более точно и получить конкретную разницу между желанием и реальностью :)

Тикер инструмента - DFU3, единица измерения - тысячи сложности, т.е. значение 77 000 означает сложность 77 000 000
Один контракт перемещает 0.00001 BTC за одну тысячу изменения сложности.
Принцип работы - если вы думаете что сложность на 16 сентября 2013 будет выше некоего числа (например - 77 000 000), то вы ПОКУПАЕТЕ фьючерсы DIFF-9.13 по этой цене. Если думаете что будет ниже - то, соответственно, продаёте.

Допустим, что вы купили 100 фьючерсов по цене 77 000. Для этого на счету надо иметь 15.4 БТЦ.
Предположим, что на самом деле 16.09.2013 сложность составила 87 млн. Разница между загаданным и реальным числом составляет 10 000 единиц по тысяче сложности.
10 000 (разница) * 0.00001 (размер лота) * 100 (количество контрактов) = 10 БТЦ прибыли
Комиссия составит 0.0001 БТЦ * 100 (количество контрактов) * 2 (количество операций: 1 покупка и 1 сеттлемент) = 0.02 БТЦ, в данном случае 0.2%
К операциям покупки и продажи применяются скидки за объём, то есть размер комиссии может быть уменьшен вплоть до половины.
Если же вы не угадали и сложность оказалась не выше, а ниже - тогда, соответственно, наоборот. Или следовало не покупать, а продавать контракты по данной цене.

Речь про посты о новых законах, изобретениях, проблемах и.т.п., не имеющих прямого отношения к биткойну или его важным форкам.

After mass-production announcement you'll be able to exchange 4 bonds for one basic device (Reclaimer One). Number of bonds per device is fixed and won't change.
You'll need more bonds to buy bigger models.

Reclaimer RM is a 3U 19"-compatible 'rackmount' device which can be controlled via Ethernet connection and work directly at selected pool/bitcoind without any PC. You'll be able to mine on any pool or your own mining server.

I would like to know is someone will be interested in buying mining contracts with following terms:
1000 BTC upfront for 1 year (365 days) of 5 GH/s hashpower or 36 628 938 accepted shares (preferred), directed to your account at Deepbit.
LR payment is also possible. Smaller hashates are available, but those may be less interesting for me.

What is Long Polling ? Explained here.

Miner authors can implement simple detection routine that will stop mining if pool jumps back for more than a 5 blocks (checking by the hash of previous block).
This will make ">50%" attack much more difficult to accomplish.

There is also another vulnerability to cover - the block holding, this may me the next task for miners.
By doing this, at least all honest miners can be sure that their pool is not trying to make a fork.

Overtaking the pools or pool owners to disrupt the blockchain will be useless if the protection will be implemented in the miner software.

There is concern among bitcoiners, that pool with >50% power can exploit the network with double spending transactions. I think that someone should make a service for monitoring blockchain forks and double spending attempts. I'm pledging 50 BTC for such service; if you are concerned with this problem too, add up your pledge.

To receive award this service should provide at least

1) Real time list of blocks, including orphaned ones
2) Real time list of transactions with double spend attempts
