1  Bitcoin / Armory / How many GB do your Armory and Bitcoin Core Folders take up? on: February 16, 2016, 06:29:55 AM
I'm thinking I can delete a folder, because together these folders occupy 177 GB on my hard drive.  147 GB for Armory and 30GB for Bitcoin Core.  Does this sound right?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / All new blocks are just about filled: It's time to raise the block size on: November 05, 2015, 03:00:53 AM
1mb isn't enough for the # of daily transactions occurring.  Head over to blockchain.info, just about all the new blocks found are at the 1mb cap.  People are waiting too long for transactions.

The price is increasing by a ridiculous amount daily.  With this increase of price comes the absurd amount of transactions occurring.

Please Bitcoin devs:  Reach a consensus soon to increase the block size, it is long overdue.
3  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory / Bitcoin Core / SSD on: September 03, 2015, 03:06:15 AM
So who doesn't have an SSD in 2015?

Who wants to store 50 GB+ of blockchain files on their limited SSD?  I'd imagine nobody.

Figuring out how to store all the blockchain and database files on your large hard drive and not your C: drive is too complicated with Armory

Armory NEEDS a friendly wizard to assist people in moving the gigantic blockchain to their large hard drive.

I've been using Armory for over a year and I can't believe this hasn't been implemented yet.
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinbase sucks on: July 09, 2015, 12:07:08 AM

Buy bitcoin on Monday, get told I'll receive bitcoin Friday.

Cool, so if the money's in my bank account Wednesday I'm good right

Nope, $34 fee because the money wasn't in my account four days before I'd receive the bitcoin.

Hey coinbase, why don't you take your noses out of the governments asshole for a minute and realize tattle-telling on what people do with their BTC, charging bullshit fees like this, is only going to fuck you over in the end?

You already have a shit reputation for sucking all that government cock, all it's going to take is one single decent competitor to put you assholes out of business.

p.s. your logo sucks cock, muh minimalism, muh facebook.  No self-respecting bitcoiner has any respect for you cunts.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hard fork Bitcoin with the strengths of altcoins now! on: May 20, 2015, 03:54:46 AM
I value a conservative approach, but if Bitcoin is really open source then what's stopping us from hard forking 100% anonymity that some altcoins are currently enjoying?

Does it really take months of work to make Bitcoin 100% anonymous?

7 Transactions a second, another issue that shouldn't be an issue.  It's simply not enough for the future.  Why wait until 2016 for a hard fork?

Let's hard fork this shit and send these make-believe pretend shitcoins to their graves where they belong.  Altcoins are a cancer.
6  Bitcoin / Armory / Is an Armory update on the horizon? on: December 18, 2014, 10:26:50 PM
I hate redundant updates that fix little to nothing, and I can't seem to find anything wrong with Armory, but is there an update planned?

Hasn't 0.92.3 been out for awhile?

8  Bitcoin / Armory / Trying to save precious space on my SSD on: November 25, 2014, 03:50:17 AM
I have Armory and Bitcoin Core installed on my non-ssd drive, yet every time I open Armory a lovely 42GB folder "leveldb_blkdata" presents itself in my severely space-limited SSD drive here:

C:\users\solitude\appdata\roaming\armory\databases

How can I direct the program not to create the gigantic blockchain in my SSD drive?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Daily reminder that all altcoins are dogshit on: November 19, 2014, 02:51:39 AM
It's bitcoin or nothing.  You will only lose money investing in shitcoins.
10  Bitcoin / Armory / What if... on: November 09, 2014, 02:02:10 AM
What if my cold storage laptop dies or gets stolen?  How do I spend my bitcoins?

Is the only way to make a fresh install using my paper wallet?
11  Bitcoin / Armory / How Am I Doing? on: November 05, 2014, 08:43:13 PM
I've made a paper wallet backup and put it in a safe place.

I've got Armory installed on a shitty laptop running Windows 7

Should I backup my .wallet file also?  What else should I backup?

What If I want to install Windows updates?  Can I connect my cold storage laptop just for that?
12  Bitcoin / Armory / Blockchain won't update on: October 23, 2014, 09:03:12 PM
I have a custom location for my Bitcoin Core directory so I don't waste precious space on my SSD drive.

Is this somehow affecting Armory not being able to update the blockchain?

By the way, under settings, Bitcoin install directory and Bitcoin home directory is too confusing.  What is the difference?

Which should I use, E:\Bitcoin\daemon ?  or E:\Bitcoin ?
13  Bitcoin / Armory / Switching from Bitcoin Core to Armory - A Few Questions on: October 18, 2014, 07:17:39 PM
I've read the FAQ and documentation but there's a few questions I'd like answered.

I've already made a paper wallet backup like Armory suggests.

When I want to backup my bitcoins with Bitcoin Core, all I have to do is backup my wallet.dat file.  Can I do the same with Armory?  I see a wallet file named .wallet in my BitcoinArmory directory, is that the same as wallet.dat?

What happens if someone steals my offline (cold storage) laptop?  How do I send bitcoins?

If someone gets access to my paper wallet keys, do they have access to all of my bitcoins with ability to send bitcoins?

Thanks for your time.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Keeping your butts safe on: October 14, 2014, 09:43:42 PM
If you have a fair amount of bitcoins is it stupid to keep them all on Bitcoin Core on a computer that's just about always online?

Even with a good password?

Do you think cold storage is essential?
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Is there any fixes when only 1 chain works on the Antminer S1? (see pic) on: August 26, 2014, 10:42:46 PM

I've tried rebooting already.

I know the fan doesn't work, I have an adequate table fan blowing air directly onto it.

17  Bitcoin / Hardware / ebay chargebacks on: August 19, 2014, 11:15:00 PM
How often do chargebacks occur on mining hardware?  People claiming either they didn't receive or it wasn't described properly.

Ebay always takes the buyers side so how risky is selling your shit on ebay?
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer S1 WiFi reception tweaks on: August 15, 2014, 04:27:17 PM
Can anyone offer some tips/tricks on how to get reception to my S1 that is just barely out of wifi reception?  Tin foil?

I've tried two different antenna's including an Alfa panel and I can't get it hashing.

Some S1's are really fucking picky with wifi.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How to keep your bitcoins secure if you suddenly disappear (jail or prison) on: August 13, 2014, 02:50:23 AM
If you get jailed for years for whatever reason what is the best way to keep your bitcoins secure for when you (hopefully) get released?

There is currently a lot of bullshit laws in the USA that a red-blooded white man could easily get jailed for.

Discuss.
