A Swiss bank has started selling paper as bitcoins, in the place of real bitcoins. In the same way that since the ancient times, they stored your gold and gave certificates, which then became money!

It's the daily blockchain transaction volume in USD for all bitcoin time. In order to avoid those huge spikes from above,
I averaged each value with its previous 200.

As is obvious, there has a huge ramp up starting on October 2013, I guess it was the Chinese entering.
Now we seem to be leveling on the trend line that started on April 2013.

Now, Willy was only trading on gox without any real money (USD or BTC) and hence couldn't have caused that huge ramp!

It escapes me how people decide to get out of bitcoin without an emergency need, while central banks are printing like crazy. Even if they stop at one point, peripheral banks will continue via loans etc!!!

According to Greek media, the EU are thinking of proposing a new law that will allow confiscation of deposits that are above the guaranteed level in case a bank develops problems. The guaranteed amount is 100000 euros. Any amount above that is not insured. The law is supposed to become active in 2015.
