13  Local / Română (Romanian) / Intalnire Bitcoin Halving on: April 17, 2024, 04:14:01 PM
Salutare tuturor,

19 Aprilie 2024, ora 18:00.
Oktoberfest Pub, Str. franceza nr. 3, Bucuresti.
Anuntat si pe meetup.com.

16  Other / Meta / Second chances on: December 12, 2023, 01:13:51 AM
It's that time of the year again... and it's at least as good a time as any to reflect on both the good, and the bad; to think about how we can do better in the future; and also to... forgive. Regarding that last one, we've decided that for a limited time, we will be considering unbanning users previously banned for plagiarism.

This is not a blanket amnesty. We take plagiarism very seriously. Not just any banned account will be unbanned, not all sanctions will be lifted, and we'll be watching the unbanned users like hawks.

Here are the requirements:
  • You must have been banned already for an extended period of time, at least 6 months.
  • You must point to at least 1 really good, constructive post you've made.
  • A ban on wearing a signature will be added, equal to at least 2 years minus however long you were banned.

How to apply:
If you already registered an account to post in Meta for a ban appeal then simply reply to this thread.
If you didn't register another account send an email to this address: amnesty_2023_7ecwa@bitcointalk.org

Example info to include:
Code:
Username:
Constructive post:

We will post all of the unbanned users in this thread. Hopefully in the future we'll look back on this as proof of the value of forgiveness and second chances. (Otherwise, maybe we'll look back on this as a reason not to do it again in the future.)

Enjoy the Holidays and Happy 2024 everyone!

Edit: We've received 17 requests by email so far.

Here are the unbanned users as of yet:

20  Economy / Collectibles / [AUCTION] Bitcoin Sunrise stamp display on: December 23, 2022, 10:18:44 PM
Introduction:
Over the years, we've had various project ideas. Some remained just ideas while others lingered in varying levels of completeness and not made public. Today however we'd like to present to you one of these projects.
Some time ago we've got the idea of releasing a crypto stamp and ordered a very limited batch to play around with the concept. The idea was to create something fun and a bit different without taking itself too serious. But what about selling and trading something that comes preloaded? We mitigated that risk by loading it with something worthless! So we chose to preload them with a small amount of testnet coins*.
It would be humbling to see them being redeemed to test out a cool new Bitcoin project! Actually, I can imagine this being a cool gift for a Bitcoin dev.
Also, thank you very much to mocacinno for providing the needed tBTC*!
*IMPORTANT: Testnet bitcoins are worthless and hold no monetary value, this is what makes them valuable.

At this point we have no plans on taking this idea further and would like to auction off most of the pieces created (there are a few more stamps with slight variations that we don't really know what to with at the moment).
Item Description:
A total of 12 numbered Bitcoin Sunrise stamp displays were created, each containing four Bitcoin Sunrise stamps. #1 is a PoC and was used as a test (this is the item in the pictures).
The Bitcoin Sunrise stamp has a famous Satoshi quote inscribed and a sunny Bitcoin rising over the mountains in the background.
Each stamp comes preloaded with *drums rolling*... 0.01 tBTC*.
Materials: acrylic, wood, paper, brass.
Dimensions: 14.7x10cm (5.78"x3.93").
