64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New alt idea, way more stable and widely used. Ideas welcome. on: April 10, 2013, 06:08:01 PM
Hey folks,

Over the course of last few days I looked and looked at how cryptos work. It seems miners simply look for higher reward per gpu, fpga, asic hour. Its rational. Also new coins diff is very low low aka 1 and rises fast, so it does not diffuse alot amongst many users.

I am thinking if new coin used scrypt and had 10% set for foundation which would give free coins to randon facebook users say or femal gamers to popularise it. And make own exchange into usd that via consesus could hold price stable at least initially. How is done? I say 10% of coins goes to foundation and after say first months where coins are given for free, they are sold at say 1 coin 0.10 usd or whatever rate it seems to be ok to start with. This way a) folks who simply want to buy it will know they can get some at fixed  rate from foundation b) price is more stable. USD received from sale of foundation stake can be partly used for bounties to improve coin and party redestributed to miners Smiley

What you think?
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New currency that can cater for longer period of initial adoption. Ideas welcome on: April 10, 2013, 04:18:57 AM
Hey folks,

I noticed many alts start with very easy difficulty and then fast go to some really high levels of difficulty.  What if in order to distribute coins to maximum amount of miners say in 1 months time the difficulty rises slower than double so in effect more blocks are issued to large number of adopters. Later on difficulty rise also dont have to be mega steep. Perhaps using scrypt with tough parameters to mainly facilitate gpu mining. A rewards per block can be set to reduce itself.   What you think? Smiley

P.S To keep miners interested new currency can aim to become transactional and generate income for miners in transactional fees.

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / True CPU e currency. Ways to do it? on: January 26, 2013, 06:45:58 PM
Hey foolks,

I read this http://www.gat3way.eu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=68

It seems it possible to make e currency that is based on CPU mining. I think now that BTC moves into asics alot of GPU miners might simply mine alt currencies, since for them GPU is already sunk cost and also in hope to catch new btc like rise.

I am looking at user friendly even dumb blonde friendly gui and cpu oriented algo. Also maybe difficulty does not rise alot and coins are not divisible. When all coins mined new e currency started, this way people constanly have change to get in at the start Cheesy  What are you suggestions? Smiley

I think the more people got coin the  more fun it gets, as they tell their friends.  Look at Tensent QQ coins  - at some stage they were so popular gov banned them. Huge user base and stable exchange rate. Stable exchange rate comes from many independent parties buying and selling goods and services as opposed to hoarding Cheesy Also stable exchange rate makes hoarding unprofitable.  There are many ways to make rate more less stable. Intoduction of GPUs, asics and so on makes rate fluctuate alot. If its CPU only ok cpu also advance yet its simpler.

71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Idea - BTC trading platform with possibility to go short. on: January 25, 2013, 11:03:38 PM
Hey folks.

The idea in brief. Lenders lend btc to platform for %. Platform then provide then to traders for % aka spread. Person wants to go short on btc aka bet btc value will fall against usd. He deposits 10 btc equivalent to the platform and gets 100 btc. If trade goes against him aka btc value rises to an extent that losses are 9 btc the position of liquidated.

The margins can be desided based on the intra day and weekly volatility.
