3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can bitcoin be pumped-and-dumped? on: September 12, 2016, 06:39:24 AM
I often see this in the altcoin world since their market cap is pretty low or nonexistent altogether.

But what about Bitcoin?
4  Other / Meta / Ancient Bitcoin Talk accounts logging in on: September 11, 2016, 03:40:10 PM
Feels spooky. Ancient Bitcointalk accounts are starting to log in. Do you think this is connected to a forum breach?

Here's some samples:

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is running a full Bitcoin client worth it? on: September 11, 2016, 10:00:44 AM
For an average user, is the trouble of running and maintaining a full client worth it?

For me, considering that it requires a ton of storage space and considerable bandwidth (at first), plus electricity, I'd rather use SPV.
What about you?

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do 2-of-2 multisig addresses make escrows irrelevant? on: August 23, 2016, 10:25:40 PM
As far as I understand, a multisig address is derived from two other addresses. Now, if the buyer and seller agrees to make a multisig address and deposit the buyer's funds there, it should be safe since both parties must agree before the funds can move, right?

Or do we still need 3rd party escrows? I've seen some very reputable escrows on this forum that suddenly turned into scams.
8  Economy / Speculation / BTC price pretty much flat for the past few weeks. Permanent? on: August 23, 2016, 04:45:07 AM
Not much has been going on with Bitcoin's price for the past 3 weeks or so now. How stable do you think this price point is?
9  Economy / Speculation / Price hovering around 570-580. Is it a good move to buy? on: August 19, 2016, 01:35:33 AM
People were saying back then that they are going to buy when prices drop below $600. Now that that's happened, is it still a good idea to buy? Did you buy? Are you planning to buy?
10  Economy / Speculation / BITFINEX crashed, bitcoin price falls. Will it recover? on: August 03, 2016, 01:52:05 AM
If you do think it will recover, how long?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Halving event: expectation vs. reality on: July 09, 2016, 11:44:00 AM
I was told a few times that, when halving is super close/already happened, the price would increase significantly.
Now that the halving event is probably 5 hours or so from now, what can you say about the current price? It's still hovering at around $650 despite the imminent event.

Right now, I'm disappointed simply because so many people say that the price would increase, but my mood may change if something significant happens (pissed if going down, happy when going up).
12  Other / Off-topic / What would you do if you suddenly lost all of your bitcoins? on: July 04, 2016, 10:14:10 AM
Topic title says it all. What would you do?
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Effect of halving on cloud mining? on: July 04, 2016, 03:23:47 AM
What would happen to cloud mining prices once halving arrives?

For example, HashNest's S7 price is about 0.00014 BTC per GH/s. What would happen to the price?

I'm curious since I have funds in HashNest and I'm deciding whether to pull out before the halving or just hold my breath.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How do I prove I'm Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 30, 2016, 02:17:09 AM
This thread got me thinking: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1530663.0

If I were Satoshi and I somehow misplaced my credentials (e.g. privkey to the first live bitcoin address, pgp key, etc.) and I wanted to claim the "satoshi" account on the forum, how do I prove that I'm Satoshi?

The forum account claim was only an example. As a general question, how do I prove I'm Satoshi if I lost/misplaced my credentials? For example: I could have burned them a few years ago over fears that I might be apprehended/for plausible deniability.
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Post-halving - Will miners still operate? on: June 25, 2016, 02:59:22 PM
I predict a decline in mining and pools shutting down one-by-one. Possibly, the difficulty will reduce.

What do you think will happen to the miners after halving?
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Has anyone actually seen (even in pics) hashocean's datacenters? on: June 24, 2016, 05:24:56 PM
They say they have seven datacenters spread out. I tried to do some research but couldn't find any evidence.

Has anyone actually seen even one of their datacenters?
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Is HashNest okay for a starter cloud miner? on: June 24, 2016, 06:59:06 AM
I've used HashNest before and I'll say they're not bad, although that was for very small transactions (right now, I have 56 GH/s worth of power).
I'm planning to invest about $100 to different cloud mining services, or all in one service.

Has anyone had any issues with HashNest? Are they legit? Do you recommend them?
I'm also looking at Genesis Mining but their contracts are expensive and there's a minimum of 500 GH/s. Hashnest is about half-price and also does not have a minimum.

Opinions?
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Is investing in mining still worth it? on: June 24, 2016, 06:29:59 AM
Right now, I'm planning to invest more or less $100 in HashNest since I've used their services before, but on a very very small scale.

$100 would get me about 1TH. Would it still be worth it? Based on some calculations, the ROI would be just under 90 days. Their prices are pretty stable.
19  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] 5 EUR G2A gift card code on: June 23, 2016, 08:51:42 AM
Selling G2A gift card code worth 5 EUR.

Reason for selling: Duplicate order, got 2 gift codes.
For those who are asking: Yes, I got charged twice.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What was the first experience/thing you did with Bitcoin? on: June 23, 2016, 05:47:18 AM
I remember trying to sync the blockchain when it was still only more or less 15GB. I remember struggling to make a transaction (and failing).
I remember trying to solo-mine using my CPU and wondering why I didn't have 50BTC the next morning, the blamed it on the blockchain not yet being synced (I was using a 3G dongle back then. I have fiber optic now.)
I remember spending days on faucets and earning 50 satoshi that was sent directly to my address.

What about you guys?
