1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why do you call BCC/BCH a fork ? on: August 01, 2017, 05:30:39 AM
I understand BCC/BCH is similar to lumen (but 1:1 ratio based airdrop).
BCC/BCH is just an altcoin is being created with air drop plans based on snap shot of blockchain as of August 1st 2017 12:20 UTC.

Yes, it will be a new altcoin with exact specifications similar to bitcoin but with 8MB block size and with other segwit proposals and finally it will start its life with pre-mined blocks. (pre-mined blocks are being copied from bitcoin's blockchain).

Why big hype on BCC/BCH and how they will survive 51% attack ?
2  Economy / Services / [Free] Twitter Exchange Services<->Follow and Get Followed<->Community Powered on: July 16, 2017, 07:40:32 AM
Yes, this is not a new thing here as there have been many similar topics. But this time I like to add few new things which may result in long sustaining twitter follower exchanging.

1. Post your twitter handle url here. (in this format : https://twitter.com/YOUR_TWITTER_ID)
2. I will consolidate them here in first posts of first page of this topic along with your BCT username and rank (people may prefer to follow you if you are an established here).
3. You must come back and follow new people (if they are interested to you) time to time.
4. Inactive twitter accounts may get removed from listing

Here is the suggested format for faster compilation by @julerz12 (big thanks to you !)
Code:
Bitcointalk Username:
Bitcointalk Profile link:
Bitcointalk Rank:
Twitter Account:

I wish to reach 2000 listing here. Happy exchanging : Build your twitter. Build your business stronger.

Your ideas are most welcome to improve this further !

How you may contribute here :
1. Report inactive / fake accounts.
2. You may go for summarizing like done here

Make sure you are following all of your followers. That alone will ensure the real success of this initiative.

3  Economy / Speculation / Hedge funds will include bitcoins ? Alternate to ETF ? on: June 14, 2017, 05:55:34 PM
By 2013 end, I read an article in Yahoo news covering big corporate employees demand their salary in bitcoins. But after that I never got any update on that.

Just today I come across this amazing news, this is what I was expecting for years....
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/goldman-sachs-hedge-fund-bitcoin

If this will be happening in real time, I guess we may forget about worrying on ETF disapproval. When asset management companies will be covering bitcoin as part of their portfolio, unofficially people may start trading bitcoins how they suppose to do with bitcoin ETFs !?
4  Economy / Web Wallets / Blockchain diabled "multisend" ? What is the solution ? on: June 09, 2017, 07:31:49 AM
Yahoo mentioned about recent changes in blockchain.info wallet services:

Recently(june6th) blockchain disabled the multisend function from their wallet. I'm currently downloading bitcoin core but gotta wait for the wallet to sync. Everyone can start posting for next weeks pay but i cant send this weeks pay til wallet syncs. Trying to avoid 900$ in fees

Is it like unable to payout multiple persons with one single transactions or anything different from my understanding ?
(I am sorry, I am not using blockchain.info wallets)

I guess indirectly blockchain.info trying to feed greedy miners by blocking us not to use one tx for paying multiple addys. Yahoo mentioned about $900 tx fees, oh Jesus !

Simply exporting privatekey and importing into electrum wallet could be a quick solution here ?
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Your gambling experiences : before and after bitcoins. on: June 07, 2017, 12:56:08 PM
Are you happy with your bitcoin gambling ?
I feel I am into gambling so intensively only after bitcoin introductions. Before that I bet on few sport betting sites, but not with the frequency how I am currently doing. When ever I see some profits, I do see bitcoin gambling as a blessing but losses makes me to think about quitting using bitcoins too.

Even I restrict myself only for free of cost gambling, after sometimes of gambling, I go for adding bitcoins from my wallet totally out of control. I was not like this when I was gambling with fiats. How about you ?
6  Economy / Speculation / Speculating the benefits of swicthing over to base unit as satoshi on: June 04, 2017, 06:26:10 PM
I read the first price for bitcoin was determined by the electricity cost required to mine a block and from that people would have calculated how many bitcoins for $1 and so on now we are into one bitcoin for $2500+

Similarly why not we switch over to calculating how many satoshi for one dollar. I believe there will be exchanges to be ready to adopt and provide trading facility based on this. As per preev, right now $1= ~4000 satoshi.

Why this :
Stocks trading has a tradition of spiting. Read more on split here :
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stocksplit.asp
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_split

This is not exact split, but I believe this will serve the purpose of splitting.

Let us discuss,
What are pitfalls we may face if we switch over to new unit.
What will happen suddenly an exchange will provide trading based on unit satoshi.
More importantly how it will influence bitcoin price levels.
7  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will not settle current rally until tocuching $10,000 on: May 24, 2017, 07:20:09 AM
If you are looking for corrections/big crash to get into bitcoin in more volume, probably you may face only disappointment and regrets. Because scalability issue just found a solution but implementation might need another six months, giving enough room for traders to push bitcoin skyrocketing.

If moon is $10,000 in your definition, we are going to land there within 2017  Wink
8  Economy / Service Discussion / [Alert] Diversify your service needs on: May 20, 2017, 07:38:07 AM
I believe it will not be safer to depend on one single service provider for all our needs.

First of all, I am not here against any one particular entity. (I just want to alert this community as I feel it is time).

Jumping into next level of business may be good for providers but we need to slow down before going for availing them.
Carefully choose providers for your service needs. It is always good to stick with specialized provider for one specific services.

The past built reputation may not help you all the times:
By 2008-2009, there was one famous HYIP provider among PTC users and they were running their interest paying business successfully for more than 4 years and finally they run away with approx half billion dollars.

Hence a scam may be planned for years or a well running business may go bankrupt even after decades.

Simply : do not blindly trust your service providers. Stay always with precautions.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Gambling : Your new strategy will work. But every day you need a new one. on: January 20, 2017, 03:07:58 PM
I am not searching for a shortcut, but trying to figure out where I am lagging.
But I am afraid I may end up wasting half of my life in finding out a perfect strategy.

Probably no or random strategy is the right approach ? or just searching for a new strategy is the real fun in gambling ?

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How much and why do you admire Satoshi's work? on: April 20, 2015, 04:18:37 PM
I admire because of the great invention of him, the Bitcoins. He had a clear vision of future and made into reality whatever he has said, and many more are yet to come true, which will happen over the course of time. If Satoshi you are reading this, I just want to say thank you for the great work that you have done  Smiley

14  Other / Politics & Society / What are some movies you watched that changed the way you view the society? on: April 20, 2015, 02:32:28 PM
Yesterday I watched a animation movie called " The grave of the fireflies" that changed the way I looked at the society and myself. It was nonetheless a great eye opener to me. It is a story about how humanity is supposed to be and shows how humanity can fail instead of always seeing how humanity truimphs in many other movies. Truly an astounding movie from a semi autobiography by Akiyuki Nosaka . I will suggest everyone to watch this movie that will change the way you think. This movie after seeing will resonate through you and touch the society in a a more humane way than we did before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr_5M46JJvQ

An interview with the author whose semi auto biography was made into an animation.

Interview originally from the June 1987 issue of Animage. Excerpt taken from the English translation published in Animerica Vol. 2, No. 11, 1994.
My sister's death is an exact match with the novel. It was one week after the end of the war. At the countryside of Fukui prefecture where I was, it was the day the restrictions on lighting were removed. It must have been the 22nd. It was evening, and I was picking up my sister's bones. I was coming home in a daze when I saw the village lit up. There was nothing like my surprise then. My sister died in my side of the world, and the light was coming back in the other.
Honestly speaking, there was also relief that she died and my burden was gone. No one would wake me up in the night like she did with her crying, and I wouldn't have to wander around with a child on my back any more. I'm very sorry to say this about my sister, but I did have those feelings too. That's why I haven't gone back to my novel (Grave of the Fireflies, published in 1967) to re-read it, since I hate that. It's so hypocritical. It must be absolutely true that Seita must have thought of his sister as a burden too. He must have thought that he could have escaped better if it weren't for her.
There are many things that I just couldn't get myself to write into the story. During composition, the older brother got increasingly transformed into a better human being. I was trying to compensate for everything I couldn't do myself. I always thought I wanted to perform these generous acts in my head, but I couldn't do so. I always thought I wouldn't eat and would give the food to my little sister, but when I actually had the piece of food in my hand, I was hungry after all, so I'd eat it. And there was nothing like the deliciousness of eating in a situation like that. And the pain that followed was just as big. I'd think there is no one more hopeless in the world than me. I didn't put anything about this in the novel.

Any other movie that you think will change the way we look at the society?

17  Economy / Speculation / What is your price speculation for BTC at the end of 2015? on: April 08, 2015, 01:20:24 PM
I think the price might increase to 700 USD  Cheesy by the end of 2015, which I think is a fair value for the Bitcoins when the market fluctuations stabilize with the spread of news of Bitcoins. What are your price thoughts for Bitcoins by the end of the year 2015?
