This is the first beta of the BoffOS bootable offline printing OS. This is an open source complete system for offline printing of paper wallets, securely and away from the stare of keyloggers and webcams (ie, your trojan-riddled online OS) As part of the OpenPaperWallet and SafePaperWallet projects, we have developed a bootable clean OS (ubuntu saucy) with the following features: * Boot from CD or USB while disconnected from networks * OS runs without a network interfaces (offline) and boots directly into RAM * Does not interact with your existing OS or hard drive. It keeps out of the way, and away from the trojans ;-) * Contains many printer drivers for most common printers, like HP, Epson etc.. We can add more as needed. * Contains the safe paper wallet printer software (derived from bitaddress) - One screen, one option, two buttons. Easy. * Can print paper wallets onto the Safe Paper Wallet sheets (textured, thick, luxurious paper with gorgeous designs and perforated around each wallet) * Detailed instructions guide you step by step, from understanding to printing paper wallets, loading them, redeeming and voiding (full lifecycle) The first beta can be downloaded or ordered on a CD/USB as part of a complete Safe Paper Wallet kit. We welcome feedback and comments and will implement suggestions readily. |

I am the founder of the SafePaperWallet.com project. As part of the project, I distribute paper wallet kits with instruction for secure offline printing. I plan on making a "Pro" kit that includes a bootable LiveCD distribution that includes the key generating software and can be used offline. The LiveCD will walk a user through the steps of setting up a printer and printing on paper wallets. I need to find the best LiveCD for the job, it has to fulfill the following needs: 1) It has to be secure 2) It has to have a small distribution on it (see 1) 3) It has to support printing over USB to MANY common inkjet and laser printers I have some ideas about which LiveCDs would achieve the goals above, but I want to hear from the community. We need volunteers to be listed as contacts for interviews in Greek for radio, TV and print.
If you are interested, please register on bitcoinpresscenter.org, click "Add Contact" and add yourself, or someone you think will make a great contact for Greek-language press.
The more qualified people we add, the more great articles and interviews we will see.
