1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon|DHL tracking emailed to me|Singapore to India|Anyone else get this? on: July 09, 2013, 05:40:28 PM
This morning I received an email with a DHL tracking number.  Initially, I thought that this might be a tracking number for the Batch 3 Avalon (currently not delivered) I ordered in March.

When I checked the link, I noticed that this was the same tracking number that I received for my Batch 2 Avalon (received late June).  I reviewed my account page to find that Avalon had not updated my Batch 3 order with any tracking info (as they did with batch 2).

The tracking info shows a shipment from Singapore to India.  I noticed that another Avalon preorder-user commented with a similar DHL tracking issue and location.

I don't know what this all means, but I wanted to know if anyone else had received this?  I'm wondering if it is unique to Avalon users.

2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon users - merged mining NMC? on: July 02, 2013, 06:47:34 PM
I'm a proud owner of a single Avalon for 2 weeks today.  I've reviewed different mining pools but currently I really love Slush's pool because of the following:

  • Auto Payouts
  • Email Authentication (so if someone hacks my account and tries to change my address, I'll receive an email verification)
  • The live worker data and graphs (so I can keep an eye on it at work)
  • Slush's pool is frequently up and running
  • Stratum

I'm interested in running in a merged mining pool for about a week or two so I can compare the payouts of Slush's BTC mining vs another pool's merged BTC+NMC.  I've had great luck so far with Slush's pool, on average 1.9 BTC/day (70.4 GH/s), but I'm interested to see what payouts I would get with the Avalon.

I am certainly closer to a newb than I am a pro.  From what I understand about mining with an Avalon, it is in my best interest to find a pool that supports Stratum.  Naturally, I also would like to least amount of fees.  Could anyone comment on their experiences with merged mining?

  • What pool(s) are you mining on?
  • What is your average hashrate?
  • What is your daily average BTC payout?
  • What is your daily average NMC payout?
  • What reward type is best for an Avalon miner?
  • Any other advice for merged mining?

I understand that Slush's pool is simply one of the best, a 2% fee is well spent.  Slush also shares the transaction fees (according to the wiki) which adds a little value.  I have no intention on jumping to another pool just because they have merged mining, it has to be worth the move.  If other users comment with their data, it would help me make a better decision.  I appreciate any help.

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Current/future Avalon owners - where will you mine? on: April 16, 2013, 03:32:44 PM
I understand that we should not be mining at BTC Guild.  Where do you currently, or plan to, mine?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [HELP] New to namecoin and I can not send my coins to another address on: March 13, 2013, 05:33:16 PM
Windows 7 x64 - namecoind.exe

I setup a wallet on my PC when I bought my first namecoins a few weeks ago on btc-e and I sent them to this wallet on my PC.  I'll happily admit that I'm 100% newbie to using the command line for wallets (I've used it for other programs, I just don't use cmd that often).

Last week my system crashed and I recovered the wallet.dat file and copied it into the directory after I reinstalled a fresh copy Win7 x64.  The coins are recognized in namecoind wallet (see image below) but it imported them as a different address.

When I try to send the coins I receive an error: {"code":-4, "message":"Insufficient funds"}

I've tried sending the full amount of 498.99 NMC, I've tried sending 497 NMC, and I've tried sending 1 NMC and all attempts have the same result.

I assume that the my wallet is trying to send from the top address (see pic), which is empty.  I would appreciate any help I can get.
