4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Bitcoin the "one world currency" the elites want us to adopt? on: March 01, 2013, 02:44:21 AM
Obviously some of us here may be familiar with such conspiracy theories as the New world order and such like, and as a n00b I still have questions about this Satoshi guy and why he would be so illusive whilst other early developers are open.

So what do you think about the long term future of Bitcoin, could it be subverted from a utopian currency system into a dystopian one with draconian laws imposed upon it by government?

could hardware wallets become implantable RFIDs? could the mining pools centralise and become the new Bank for International settlements? as all transactions are transparent could the legislators make creating new public key addresses illegal and could they enforce that?

Your thoughts please...
5  Bitcoin / Mining support / 0 hash rate? bfgminer on ubuntu 12.10 on: February 04, 2013, 02:06:18 AM
I'm using bfgminer and it's showing a hash rate of 0 but it is using my CPU to the max, also when I check my pool stats it confirms 0 hash rate, what's going on?
6  Other / Beginners & Help / free bitcoin sites, why so low? on: February 02, 2013, 04:39:12 AM
why do these free bitcoin stes have such low payouts, considering a webmaster will earn at minimum $0.01 per click of an advert, if they are using google adsense and are earning 1cent per click then surely they should payout half a cent per click which would be 0.0005 Btc and that's obviously the low end some adsense advert earn more typically 5-20cents per click, so why are they so tight?

So free bitcoin sites share the wealth and you'll be rewarded with goood traffic!
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Profitability of mining? on: January 31, 2013, 03:20:26 PM

Newbie questions...

So how much can I make with a normal single PC in a day or 2? say a dual core 3.0Ghz machine, Is it more feasible to collect bitcoins through free bitcoin advertising sites or to mine them yourself?

Also where can I buy bitcoins in stupidly small amounts like £1 (GBP), £5 etc? Does a service for this exist yet?

Also when you print bitcoin money it has the private key on it right? does the printing of that private key compromise the whole wallet or just that payment address? and what effect does it have on the blockchain, will people printing bitcoins and taking them out of digital circulation ultimately ruin bitcoin?
