1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Anyone recommend a place to sell a few coins? Safely. on: April 08, 2013, 05:42:58 PM

 Hiya fellow bitcoin fanatics,

I have been using the same place to sell a few coins when i need to grab new hardware to increase my hashrate more to keep up rather then to gain. Problem is now they never have funds anymore, difficulty is rising ,Pool speed is increasing and my % of a block is diminishing as i can sell a few coins to add more gpus.

Really like to safely sell 4 coins now but prefer Paypal as  payment method but i know its not safe unless im dealing with someone legit like i was until they ran out of funds. Best would be someone i can continue to sell to.

Any ideas please? I really need to get some more GPU's added badly hopefully tonight.

Highly appreciate the help and i figure the community would know people to trust of not as i only been here maby 2 months.

Hope to get some helpful replies and Thanks again guys.

By the way I am in the USA if that matters.

2  Economy / Service Discussion / Thank you to those that helped me make my first sale of Bitcoins. on: March 07, 2013, 09:54:50 PM

Hiya Guys.

I felt it was only proper to come back and thank you guys for the help with hooking me up with FastCash4Bitcoins. I was recommended a few to try and being new at this which im not afraid to admit ,i figured the smart move was to ask in the forum for real feedback from people that been through the steps already.

Anyway i am here to say Thank you for all the suggestion and i couldnt be happier with the one i went with. Yes i gain a little less then MTGOX but that account is still just sitting waiting verification still for at least 10 more days.I went to FastCash4Bitcoins and of course made a mistake right away on selling. I meant to sell 5 coins and somehow entered like 5.005 or something which screwed the whole transaction up. I wrote to support and i would say a few minutes later and they contacted me right back and fixed the problem. I contacted them like 5 times as i really like to know exactly what im doing before sending funds and every time the support there immediately replied to even ask some of the stupid questions i had.

Well that being said i made my account and completed the transaction at a pretty good price with really no effort at all.

I know i am knew but i signed up for many exchanges so far and in my opinion if your based in the USA then  FastCash4Bitcoins is the way to go. From only what i have seen so far.

This is not any sort of an AD or endorsement for any company. Just a Thank you to those that helped me in my other thread and some info of my experience for other newcomers to bitcoin.

Again Thank You Bitcointalk & Members and i hope to be around along time.

3  Economy / Service Discussion / Help with Currency exchange please. on: March 05, 2013, 08:02:29 AM

  Hiya guys,

I have been mining for a while but never considered selling any coins or rather converting them to USD currency. At this time i would really like to start looking into how to actually get USD from my BTC so i can upgrade some badly needed hardware.

I read a bunch of threads on this post regarding all the exchange places but i was hoping i could get some recommendations from those of you that have cashed out before.

What i am looking for is a safe secure place to convert the BTC to USD.

Also i am confused on how to get the USD to either Paypal after which would be easiest for me or to my bank account.

Any help would be highly appreciated as it took allot of work earning these coins and i really need a new GPU badly.

Thanks Guys

4  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / GUIminer troubles still - Please Help. on: February 17, 2013, 09:07:58 AM

Hiya Fellow Miners/Bitcoiners or whatever you prefer:

I wanted to give GUIminer a shot to try out some new pools. But everytime i run it my Mhps on each card starts at about 660mhps and then they both drop in minutes all the way to 120Mhps per card?

When i run Bitminter Client v1.3.1 or even the beta i get 1300 total Mhps for the 2 7970's and everything works flawlessly.

But i tried many times to get GUIminer going am i am totally stuck.

Can someone please let me know what i am doing wrong?

For instance i want to try deepbit out and possibly BTGuild also but i cant without a mining software that works.

 My setups:

Setup# 1: 2x 6970's @1000/1500mhz  1.2v  (EVGA FTW Z77 Motherboard & 1600w PSU (1700w Peak)

Setup# 2: 2x 7970's @ 1125/1500mhz 1.2v (AsRock Fatal1ty Z68 Gen3 MB & 1000w PSU)

Setup#1: is running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Setup#2: is running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit

If more specs are needed please let me know. Today i did add New 12guage wire and a 20 amp breaker to handle one of my rooms where i run 1 of the miners .Reason is i plan if things work out on selling my brand new GTX680's for a Pair of 7970's and running 4 cards on the EVGA Board or maby even my Rampage Xtreme board with the 3960x. Whatever works best.

BUT before i can experiment and really have fun and enjoy mining i need to learn how to use the client. It seemed pretty simple for the setup i just dont get why it drops to no Mhps even when i am pushing the cards?

Hopefully this is an easy fix and any info i can provide that might help fix this situation please let me know.

One last thing. Damn am i hooked already bad! The financial part is the least thrilling part of this all and i really think id have allot more fun being able to try other pools etc.

Thanks In Advance;

5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Am i wrong thinking Butterflylabs is the end of Bitcoins ? on: February 17, 2013, 05:27:21 AM

Hiya guys I know I am new to Bitcoins/mining and there is allot I don't understand. But there is allot I do understand also. I knew about Butterflylabs when i recently decided to get into mining Bitcoin's and Investing etc.But don't get me wrong i think are amazing at what they created and i highly respect their intelligence.

But the last few days i cant get it out of my head how this isn't going to really do a number on the whole Bitcoin system. Miners like me who thought they had half decent mining setups now will become totally pointless seeing you can buy the BitForce Jalapeno 4.5 GH/s for $150.00 Thats 1/3 the cost of just 1 7970. My first thought of course was wow im dumping my cards and grabbing a few of those. The i woke up and came back to reallity and realized just about every Miner out there is doing the same.

So ok im going to lose by staying with my GPU's but i dont see how everyone is not going to lose as wont the coins all be held by few people extremely soon? We are talking machines faster then complete pools at the moment. I cant see any future every way i look at it for Bitcoins once a few thousand of these are running.

Problems i see is 1) the majority of the coins will be held and not in circulation. 2) Mining will become kinda pointless or let me re phrase that it will become less attractive. 3) I think the value of the coin will be like pennies really fast.

That is just a few of my concerns. Can someone please prove me wrong and tell me there is a future and why?

As i said i am rather new so take it easy on me as i think i have some valid points even if they are a little off.

Take Care

6  Other / Off-topic / Woot just got my first Bitcoin ever in my Life :) on: February 14, 2013, 11:17:26 PM

Just a bit excited and i wanted to share that thanks to you guys on this forum i know own my very first Bitcoin ever. I still cant get any other GUI client to work right so it appears i will only be using 1 Pool forever which is Bitminter because there GUI client works flawless. In time and help on the forums i am sure someday it will be resolved but i everytime i shut my miners down to play with clients i lose allot. well for me its allot.

Anyway this is more of a celebration as i am super excited to finally own one more then anything and want to thank everyone that helped me get started. I have no idea what to do with the coins i earn yet but i would like to pay for new hardware with them eventually.

Take Care guys and thanks again.

Here it is .My very first ever Coin !!

7  Other / Beginners & Help / Having Troubles with GUIminer... on: February 14, 2013, 12:26:09 AM

 Hiya Guys ,

I was i am just starting out mining with 4 GPU on 2 Rigs  2 6970's and 2 7970's well i started out on Bitminer using there Client. I was getting a very good khash/s now i switched 1 machine to try out other Pools and GUIminer is what i tried. I cant get it to do hardly anything for speed and i can tell because my cards are running 20C colder and are overlclocked and overvolted.

Anyone have any idea what i am doing wrong? I figured out i needed 2 windows 1 for default for 1 card and another made for the second card so now i have both at least working. But not even close to what 2 7970's are capable of.

I also read somewhere to try -w 256 -f1 as extra flags it improved it but not much. It goes from 500 khash/s which is very slow for 1 card overclocked but it drops for some reason all the way to 250Khash.
I wasted a full days mining trying to try out other pools but it looks like Bitminter is my home for life which i dont mind  but i would really like to try other things since i have 2 machines.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hiya Fellow Miners

As i mentioned in the Introduce yourself and the Newbie thread i am very new to mining but loving it so far. But i am a little confused.

I have had 2 PC's Mining for 4 Days.

PC1-
I7-2700k CPU @ 4.5Ghz (8 Threads)
AsRock Fatal1ty Pro Z68 Gen3 Motherboard
8 gigs 2133mhz Ram
2 120 Gig SSD's in Raid0
2 AMD HD7970 GPU's (In Crossfire)
NZXT Hale90 1000watt PSU
Fully Water cooled Dual Loop.

Bitminter Mining Client Says:
0,1656 per day or .02001 per day Overclocked
1082mhps Speed

PC2-
i5-2500k CPU @ 4.5Ghz
EVGA Z77 FTW Motherboard
8 Gigs 2400mhz Ram
1 120 Gig SSD
2 AMD HD6970 GPU's (In Crossfire)
LEPA 1600watt PSU
Fully Water cooled Single Loop.

Bitminter Mining Client Say:
0.1197 per day 0.1683 per day Overclocked
778.4mhps Speed

I have Been Running 4 days Both Machines in Bitminter Pool i believe its called. But to me the 2 Machines i have running 24/7 are earning very little. Also stuck with the issue of blowing the breaker in my house when Overclocking both rigs. (Old house ) but the scores above are stock speeds. Both builds were running Overclocked for 3 1/2 days until the power went out 2 times.

4 days Earnings both Rigs Total: (To me this doesn't seem right?)

Also can some people recommend a really good Pool to join with a Friendly Community and how i go about joining it. Also if i should be running a different Client (Prefer GUI and i am in Windows 7 and Windows Cool

Highly appreciate the help as i would love to get these miners finally  going good today rather then wasting time and electricity.

Take Care Guys,

MybadOmen

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Hiya Guys Newbie here in need of some help. on: February 12, 2013, 06:45:01 PM

Hiya guys i am not sure if i am Mining 100% correctly. I tried talking on the bitminter IRC but only 1 other person responded and couldn't help as he was also new.

First thing i did was went to BitMinter and downloaded the newest Client and then followed the instructions to download the Wallet also the Bitcoin-qt file. I installed the Client on 2 machines we can call PC1 and PC2 to make it easier to explain. Thee wallet is only on PC1 which is also the strongest miner.

The settings i am having a problem with. I am not sure if PC1 which should be doing the most work is doing anything. I see it on the screen but my account shows only name coins.

Sorry for the bunch of Photos but its the best way i can show you what i have running.

Please if you see a problem let me know as i am very new to this.

Also the 2 machines are PC1 is running 2 Overclocked/overvolted 7970's on water
PC 2 is running 1 6970 at the moment overclocked/overvolted on water also. I am deciding on adding the 2nd 6970 but not sure if it makes a difference with 2 PC's Mining on the same internet?

Please if you have time look for problems real quick:

My client running.on PC1 (main PC)

My account settings and earnings for 3 days both Mining Machines running GPU's only.

Wallet Transactions. This is where i am not sure if my Machines are setup right as the payout is so random. It says just on the main client not counting the PC2 client between 0.18 and .20 for payout per day. Its been 3 days running both machines overclocked. Is this even close to right. I have a feeling i am missing something or have something set up wrong and it cost allot of electricity to run these 2 miners so i would like to have it right if i could please get some help. (Erased my Wallet key from the photos as im not sure if its safe to show but it is the correct key.

Highly appreciate any Help from anyone with a few minutes to spare to a complete newbie at this like me.

Thank You

MybadOmen
