41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you have Lucky Casino? on: November 17, 2022, 11:51:55 AM
I’m playing same set of games on different casino not just to get the bonuses of each casino but also to have a different mood of my mind set. It really helps me to calm down and focus whenever I’m losing big time on one casino. It also helps me to not chase my previous losses because I think about it as fresh start.

With this regular routine, I notice that I have a specific casino that I’m always winning despite I’m playing same game that I lose huge amount on the other casino. I do randomly change the sequence of my game on casino and keeps giving me same good result on my personal lucky casino. I highly believe that this luck of mine related on how I feel when playing on that casino. I’m expecting that I will be lucky so my mind is always optimistic whenever I’m playing on it.

Do you have this kind of casino?

42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Binance CZ decided to dump all there FTT tokens on: November 06, 2022, 04:48:51 PM
Recently, CZ released a series of tweets stated that Binance will start to liquidate there FTT token from there orderbook as part of there parting ways to FTX exchange since there announcement last year. They are doing it in batch since the liquidity on the orderbook is not sufficient to absorbed all there tokens on a decent price.

I’m sensing a price dump on FTT here like what happened on Luna and I’m sure this will create a ripple effect on crypto in general since this are the battle of 2 largest crypto exchange.

Quote from: cz
As part of Binance’s exit from FTX equity last year, Binance received roughly $2.1 billion USD equivalent in cash (BUSD and FTT). Due to recent revelations that have came to light, we have decided to liquidate any remaining FTT on our books.

Will crypto market will be affected again like what happened during Luna sell off?

Cheesy

44  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 15, 2022, 11:15:52 AM
If you are playing gambling for example slots and you double money with just a couple of bets on very early part of your game. Will you stop already or continue playing to earn more?

I’ve been on this situation many times before and I keep playing until I get the entertainment that I want and to have more profit. But the result is always ended up losing everything because it’s very easy to increase bet if you knew that your money that you use is a profit.  Cheesy
45  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / [Discussion] Post Bursting sa Forum on: October 14, 2022, 03:47:33 AM

47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Best time to play Slot on: August 12, 2022, 03:26:37 AM

Games that depend on an RNG-like slots are designed in a way where there should be a balance between a winning and a losing bet just to keep the business profitable. With that said, when many people play the same slot, there is a higher chance of landing on a jackpot since the minimum requirement set by the casino or software developer will be met very fast.[1]

Holidays

Holidays are also a great time to play online casino games and there are several reasons for that. Firstly, most people are at home and they have time to play online games. Additionally, big holidays like Christmas and New Year are full of special events, bonuses, and reward programs that can boost your budget.

Additionally, there is a high probability of a jackpot drop during the busy hours of the holiday.[1]

End of the Month

Most people believe that the 1st day of the month is probably the worst day to play online casino games. Most casinos reset the prize pool of online games on the first day of a new month, which usually means that somebody lost a lot on the same day.

Playing at the end of the month will give you a better winning chance according to statistics. This is why most professional players play online casino games 2 or 3 days before the end of the month.[1]

The Perfect Time of the Day to Play Online Casino Games

When it comes to choosing the perfect time during your day to play casino games, it all comes down to picking the busiest hours possible. Depending on which casino you are accessing and the time zone, online casinos usually reach the peak of the audience from 8 PM to 2 AM.

However, this shouldn’t mean much to you since it all depends on many factors. It all depends on what phase of the cycle is the slot you are playing. If it collects money in the evening, there is a higher chance of winning more money in the morning.

Either way, choosing a time when the site has the most visitors should give you the best chance of walking away with some profits. [1]

Online casino nowadays has a lot of promotion and tournament which attract more user to play in regular basis but all the mention above dates gives huge factor on the increase of players because that’s the perfect time for gamblers that have jobs to have a leisure time. I’m considering those casual gamblers here and not those problematic.

48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Your epic fail experience in gambling on: May 15, 2022, 04:49:38 AM
I have many epic fail moments in my gambling experience that I want to share. Some of them is the reason why I keep playing while some are the experience that makes me quit on gambling for more than a year. Let me start with my first epic fail experience when I was addicted on dice way back 2016.

I'm a regular player on Primedice that time and I manage to grow my balance from 0.1BTC to 4BTC within a week of non-stop manual playing using common martingale strategy. I was very happy at that time until I watch some random video on youtube showing tutorial to do automated betting with his setup. I was interested to follow his setup since he shows how much he won. I try it by myself using small bets until I forgot my auto bet running overnight, I was in shocked that balance got zero after hitting more than 30's red streak and all my BTC that I earned for a week is already gone overnight just because I follow some random guy trick while my strategy is working at that time.

After that, I conclude that personally I was so easy to convinced and I didn't care about the risk of what I'm entering when I was happy in my profit. I was not contented on my profit and tiring way that's why I seek some alternative way that make my gambling experience more hassle free. There's no easy formula on gambling to become successful.

Whats' your epic fail experience in gambling?
Let's see your conclusion and re-evaluate your decision making after the epic fail experience.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Poly Network Hack Clarification on: August 11, 2021, 04:57:04 AM
WHO DID THE HACK TARGET?

This is a big question to ask. I've seen a couple of comments like "Not your keys, not your Crypto" and likening it to BitConnect or Mt. Gox. It's similar but with a big caveat, these types of attacks don't typically target users crypto in their wallet. Custodial exchange and centralized lending will often target users crypto just sitting in a spot wallet.

When you supply liquidity to a protocol on DeFi it is not your crypto. You're keys should still be able to authorize the withdrawal of that crypto or your wallet will have a receipt of supplying like cETH or LP tokens. You are still ultimately the custodian of your own crypto in DeFi

If you've been interacting with DeFi protocols, it is highly unlikely you will wake up to a drained Metamask after one of these hacks. You are too small of a fish for those types of attacks to target. You are more likely to have to fall for a phishing scam if that is the case.

Typically hacks like this target liquidity pools. Liquidity pools often have immense value in them. You may lose crypto you have deposited in a hacked pool or farm, but often times protocols come up with solutions to reimburse any lost crypto like PancakeBunny earlier this year that suffered a flash loan attack.

Poly Network holds large liquidity pools to facilitate cross chain transfers. Holding a lot of exit liquidity on each chain. The money that was hacked from this event is likely to have been stolen from those who have large amounts of liquidity staked. This is not likely to be you farming CAKE on PCS!

Cross Chain protocols are incredibly hard to code, and they should be treated with caution when supplying liquidity to them.

HOW DID THE ATTACK TAKE PLACE?

I want to keep this part simple for those not technically minded but there are currently two working theories as to how the hack took place. They both involve the private keys for the ownership of the liquidity pools.

🔑Theory 1: Leaked Key

Poly Network has a big security problem from the outset. They had a single sig key to the pools which means that only one signer would need to authorise any changes to the liquidity pool, including withdrawal of funds. This is like leaving a vault of gold with only one key. If you wanted to access this, there wouldn't be any other parties involved.

Current theories suggest that this key was leaked or hacked via another method off-chain. This is the story from early official post mortem from Poly Network

EDIT: This theory has been disproved by Poly Network, but I wrote it so I thought I'd leave it here as an example of an early working theory

🖋 Theory 2: Hacked Contracts

There are two important contracts. A "manager" contract and a "data" contract. The data contract specifies the address which can submit transactions which can withdraw funds from the pool. If someone was to replace this address in the contract to theirs, they could withdraw as much from the pools as possible.

In solidity there is a concept called ownership. A smart contract can set certain functions to only execute if the owner executed them. Typically, when constructed the owner is the wallet who deployed the contract, which is typically the developer. However, in this case the owner of the "Data" contract was the "Manager" contract.

So now, if you were to call a function which could replace the address in the data contract with theirs from the manager, it would be allowed.

But here's another flaw in the design of Poly Network. The "manager" contract exists to run transactions on different chains. It has a function called verifyHeaderAndExecuteTx which verifies that a transaction exists on one chain, and if it does, runs it on another. This is needed for cross chain interoperability.

But wait... we've now got a way to run arbitrary functions from the "manager". If the attacker devises a specific input they can now freely set the most important address, the one which says who can withdraw from the pools, to theirs.

53  Economy / Economics / Is Germany the NEW World’s Crypto Superpower on: August 17, 2020, 09:23:19 AM

"Germany’s Finance Ministry has drafted a bill that will update its legal framework regarding securities.
The bill specifically targets tokenized securities and will bring digital assets closer to traditional financial instruments"

Before this bill, Germany was known for being supportive on cryptocurrency when BAFIN release guideline during ICO madness. This only show how Germany accept and embrace the blockchain technology. They are also currently developing there own stable coin using Stellar, If this become successful and approved, They will be the first country that create there own stable coin and used on there own banking system which will be the game changer on financial world. Maybe many major country will follow this lead especially the US which is very slow on processing any crypto bill.
