1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin blunder - The story of Bitcoin2Cash on: June 27, 2013, 03:24:54 PM
In early 2011 there was a site called Bitcoin2Cash. It offered to exchange Bitcoins for physical US Dollars delivered in the mail. The exchange rate was staggeringly low but at the time it was the only game in town for getting cash for Bitcoin.

For 1 Bitcoin you would get 0.006 cents.

And people sold to this guy! He raked in over 75,000 BTC (currently worth over 7.5 million USD) during the sites short time of operation.

I personally sold him 5000 BTC in what I consider to be my biggest Bitcoin blunder.

4  Economy / Lending / 1 BTC loan to help win an Auction. on: April 11, 2013, 10:24:53 AM
I am currently seeking a 1 BTC loan on BTCjam.com ( https://btcjam.com/listings/3371 ) and would like to extend my search to these forums.

Quote
I am currently bidding on an auction on Bitmit and seeing the current market fluctuations I would like a little bit of wiggle room as the auction is in USD instead of BTC. I will pay this loan back ASAP, most likely within the month.

The auction ends today and any bit of coin will help me win.

So, whatcha say? A little help?

I have some good reputation on BTCjam (and have ID verified), I pay back all of my loans early and plan on keeping it that way.

If anyone would like to fund my loan either on BTCjam or through an arrangement here I would greatly appreciate the help.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN][BTE][POOL] New Bytecoin pool, Limitedloot.org! on: April 06, 2013, 10:41:53 PM
This is 'Yet Another Bytecoin p2pool Node', so the same problems apply; as in "No, GuiMiner will not mine correctly on LimitedLoot.org."
Please use CGminer, DiabloMiner or whatever other miner works to mine at the pool.

Mining Pool Info:

***POOL IS CURRENTLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH GUIMINER/POCLBM***

1% fee on pool.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Need help testing pool. on: March 30, 2013, 02:44:04 PM
Hello, I am starting a new Bitcoin mining pool and I need some help in determining if the pool is running correctly. The backend seems to be working flawlessly . The frontend is having some issues but I am hoping that the payouts and everything is working.

Here's where you come in. I'm going to need some miners hashing on the pool to solve the first block and test payouts. If you'd like to help testing my pool I can guarantee that you will be paid once a block is solved even if I end up having to count the shares manually.

Until I get the domain set up you can find the pool at http://76.105.190.218:8081 and make sure to point your miner to the ip not the domain it tells you.

Thanks.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Selling bitcoin wallet worth over 5 BTC on: February 15, 2013, 04:08:47 PM
It's very cheap, only 0.25 BTC.

There's a catch though, it's encrypted with a strong passphrase that not even I know.
It's not written down anywhere and the event of encrypting the wallet is but a faint outline in my memory now. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing this valuable wallet.dat file.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / [Resolved] BAMT monitor stops getting signal on: February 14, 2013, 01:29:36 AM
Okay so I finally got BAMT 0.5c configured and it started hashing then the display cuts out... "No Signal".

The computer is still on and is reachable via SSH but it does not mine in this state.

What could be the problem here? I've tried two different power supplies and that doesn't seem to be the problem. Could it be my config? I didn't get a chance to touch the overclocking settings, and the display goes out before I can reach it anyway when I tried to underclock.

The rig is an IBM ThinkCentre A55 with a Radeon 6790 installed.
