1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Blocktrail (btc.com) wallet recovery P2PKH/P2SH issue on: September 07, 2023, 07:41:35 AM
Hi everyone

I found an old blocktrail.com wallet recovery PDF sheet.
(As example, here is a public version on google https://www.scribd.com/document/433450775/bitcoin-recovery-key)

Now i have a couple of questions:

First off, i have 2 QR codes with an XPUB and derivation path. (m/0 and m/9999)
When i scan the second QR, the XPUB shows a balance of roughly 2BTC on a P2PKH address
By using the recovery tool at https://recovery.blocktrail.com/, i noticed the addresses are generated in P2SH and no balance is recovered.

So my main questions are:

- What do those 2 QR code represent actually? Are those real public keys, meaning i still have those BTC in my wallet?
- How can i recover the wallet as P2PKH to actually access those coins?

I've been through the entire blocktrail SDK, there is only the option to extract scrypt based xpub/xpriv.

Thank you all

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / NFT of Dash wallet with 26830 unconfirmed coins [2014 - DarkCoin] on: March 30, 2021, 06:38:03 PM
Back in 2014, when Dash was called DarkCoin, i've swapped out my mining wallet to a new wallet.
The coins all arrived, but never got confirmed. At the time, i didn't look back on it, as it was pretty worthless.

Today, it would be worth about 5.5 Million USD.

Enjoy my #cryptoblunder

This is worth an NFT  Cool

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / What's the purpose of all these pre-ico's and ICO's nowadays? [Opinion] [POLL] on: August 04, 2017, 04:00:24 PM
Guys,

Looking for opinions here, and a list of valuable projects on the ANN thread

My idea: 99% of coins/tokens launched every day (up to 30 a day!) are asking for pre-ico or ico even before they have anything coded.
The crowdsale or token contract they use to collect these funds, are 90% cloned, messy contract, not even written or formatted like it should.
This does not make me confident about their capabilities! Yet many users keep sending funds to nothing more than empty promises.

Between all the mess, we find some hidden gems. Coins that are actually working, deployed, and running smoothly with well written codes that required not a single dollar from this community.
Ironically, many of these coins are called scams or simply not worth to watch because mainly they don't have fancy graphics or big accounts backing them up.

I want you guys to sum the most undervalued and most overvalued project you've seen appearing here lately.

Value, in terms of how the team pulled it off. Did they manage to have everything ready without a single fund collection?
Or did they ask hundreds of Ethers just to fill an empty promise?

What's your opinion?

My top 2 of successfull coins, where the team got their code ready, deployed, working, and actively monitoring for this moment are

- MoonCoin. It's an old coin, but the dev who took over the project is performing miracles with it! worth checking out
- ClusterToken. New account, new team, but they're the only token released lately that didn't ask for a cent and deployed their token.

My personal opinion about coins that look promising right now is 0.
I haven't seen any coin/token launch that doens't require funds before they even release a line of code.

Can we get an overview from the active users in the ANN thread?
Hopefully we'll discover more hidden gems, and bust fake coins faster.

Keep on chasing them gems  Cool

* I will self moderate this thread to prevent spamming. Only true opinions are valued.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Don't fall for the Snappy shit on: August 02, 2017, 04:14:33 PM
Ok guys,

After 6 different ANN posts regarding snappy, i highly recommend anyone not to fall for it.
It consists of 3 users, Stronic, jamestyler , and ninjagod

All three of them already posted the ANN, and all three of them keep pretending to be intrested in the project.
Their token is shit, it send Minereum instead of anything else.
They keep deleting posts regarding this being a fake project.

Now compare to their 'latest' post:

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / TheBillionCoin Token [TBCT] Exchange your ponzi TBC against true value TBCT! on: March 05, 2017, 12:49:12 PM
TheBillionCoin TOKEN

What is TBCT?

TBCT is a real token deployed on the Waves blockchain. Unlike TBC, this token is open source and exchangeable by anyone.

Any exchange is free to add it, any person or merchant can start working with it. Unlike TBC, there are no limits to TBCT.

Why TBCT?

I've talked with lots of people hoarding up TBC. Most of them are people who live in poor countries, blinding them with huge winning potentials, while really, TBC is just a plain and simple ponzi scam.

These people have the community spirit that can make real coins great. These are the people that any developer wants to have as a community.

Let's stop blinding those people with a fake coin that can never be traded, and give them a real token, on a real blockchain, than can be traded for real money!

What's the exchange rate?

The total token supply is limited to 1.000.000 TBCT. This means, anyone is free to buy or sell TBC against TBCT tokens.

Since we are still holding a huge amount of TBC coins ourselves, users can also buy TBC against TBCT at realistic prices.

If you want to buy TBC against TBCT, you'll pay 850 TBCT for 1 TBC.

If you want to sell your TBC against TBCT, You'll receive 1000 TBCT against 1 TBC.

How to buy these tokens?

Since TBCT is based on the Waves platform, all you need to do is send the amount of TBCT you need in equal WAVES value to address .

You'll receive the TBCT in your wallet under the 'portfolio' tab without further action needed on your side.

Example:

You want to buy 2000 TBCT. Buy some WAVES on the exchange of your choice, and send 2000 WAVES to Open the portfolio tab page in your WAVES wallet, and the TBCT tokens will show up shortly after your transaction has been processed.

How can I exchange my TBC against TBCT?

Until an automated system has been developed (difficult because TBC is closed source), these exchanges need to be done by hand.

Please send Us a private message with the amount you like to exchange, and we'll send your further details on how to finish the transaction.

Will there be any exchanges?

Over time, there will. Since TBCT is a real token with a real code base and blockchain attached to it, if enough users request TBCT to be added, someone will.

Where does this token exists?

You can see the TBCT tokes on the WAVES block explorer:

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / ★★ Coinbuilder ★★ | BUILD | Your altcoin generator | Stage 2 OPEN on: December 29, 2015, 11:44:33 AM

Introcucing the first in-wallet altcoin generator

Generate any altcoin with any algorithm from inside your wallet
Get your altcoin ready from scratch to operational in a couple of hours

In-wallet altcoin generator

Based on a combination of open source scripts, mixed with our own input we managed to create a working altcoin generator.
To use the generator, all you need to do is fund your wallet with a minimum of 15.000 BUILD and stake for minimum 7 days.

A new tabpage will be accessible to start generating your own altcoin in a few clicks!

Enter the desired specifications, like algortithm, supply, block time, premine amount, logo, ... and let your wallet generate you a shiny new altcoin in minutes!

All your coin variables will have unique generated values, so it will be impossible to tell if the coin has been generated by coinbuilder or got made by hand.

By default, you can select 4 different QT wallet styles, based on your own custom themes.

The output will be a fully functional source code, ready to deploy to your GitHub from inside the wallet.

Windows and MAC executable compilation needs to be done by the user. Having a hard time to compile the wallets?
Alternatively, select the 1-click upload option to send your source to our server, and we compile your wallet within 12 hours.

For each coin you build, 7500 BUILD will be deducted from your balance and get destroyed by sending them to a non existing,  provably unspendable address, decreasing total supply of BUILD.

Coin distribution

The chosen distribution model is 100% presale.
This means all excessive coins remaining after the presale rounds will be destroyed.

Our presale will be held in 3 different stages for maximum exposure and attention.

Step 1: First round public presale closed
25% of the supply will be put on sale during 1 week at a fixed rate of 0.00001BTC per BUILD.

Step 2: Second round public presale OPEN NOW
50% of the supply will be sold during 3 weeks.
Signature campaign running, see below for details
The rate at this stage is 0.000016BTC per BUILD.

Step 3: Final round public presale
The remaning 25% of the supply will be sold during 1 week. Unsold coins from Stage 2 and Stage 3 are getting destroyed.
The rate as this stage is 0.000022BTC per BUILD.

To subscribe to the presale, please go to the escrowing exchange website:

Project timeline

January 2016: Wallet release, fully working generator*
March - April 2016: Compiler to generate Win/Mac wallets
March - April 2016: Full external library module (.NET, Python, Ruby)

*During the first releases, the generator will be a separate module running outside the wallet.
Code:
After several hours of brainstorming on how to launch the wallet, but still being able easily to apply changes for the 'final' version:

During initial staging, the coinbuilder will be released as an additional tool.
This means, a seperate module that communicates with your wallet, just like it will in the 'final' version where everything is in one QT.
You will need to configure your Build.conf and input the data for the module to communicate with your wallet.

This gives us following advantages:

- Scalable in case of bugs, upgrades or updates without 50 (as a way of speaking) wallet updates.
- Cloning proof until the final version has been released fully opensourced on Github.
- Flexibilty. If the separate coinbuilder does the job, there are considerations to sell the separate plugin module afterwards for those who missed out on BUILD stages.
This might also lead to release a compiled library so others can take advantage of the coinbuilder API in other projects without the need for the QT wallet.

This release plan leads to the fastest way of development right now, so we can show and proof a working coinbuilder one stage faster as planned.

This also allows us to open the markets in between stage 2 and stage 3.

The chosen distribution model is 100% presale.
This means all excessive coins remaining after the presale rounds will be destroyed.

Our presale will be held in 3 different stages for maximum exposure and attention.

We have been contacted by the cryptocurrency exchange platform c-cex.com to escrow our presale.
After negotiating for some time, we came to terms that benefit the developers, the exchange, and most importantly, the end users.

The presale will still be staged in 3 different settings.

Step 1: First round public presale OPEN NOW

25% of the supply will be put on sale during 1 week at a fixed rate of 0.00001BTC per BUILD.

Step 2: Second round public presale
50% of the supply will be sold during 3 weeks.
During this time, the unsold coins from Stage 1 are getting divided amongst our Signature campaign holder

Special conditions arise on the escrowing exchange side; The funds from Stage 1 will be available after the holding period in order to fund Stage 2 (Contests, signature campaigns, ...)
The escrowing exchange acknowledges that the wallets will be only publicly released after Stage 3, and general ICO rules apply to both Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the escrow.

So, what changes?

Nothing, except there are no longer limitations on the distribution rounds, and the unsold coins from Stage 1 are getting distributed amongst signature campaigners.
For those who already reserved, your coins are still reserved and you will receive them the second the wallet gets released for public.

What made you do this?

This option gives us the most flexibility, while offering more security to potential investors. It's also simpler than keeping up with Google spreadsheets  Wink

do not preorder

there are several reasons for that. the first one is obvious: you might not get your miner in time or if you are really unlucky, you might not get it at all.

the second reason is that money of your preorder is used for the development of big data centers that will compete with you. we have already seen this happening with Bitfury, KnC, BFL, aaaand Spondooliies tech...did I forget someone? Cheesy

how about you? what is the first rule for ya?
15  Bitcoin / Project Development / Crowdfunding the first public btc library in a region hit by devastating floods on: June 13, 2014, 04:35:07 PM
The idea is to rebuild new public library in a region that two weeks ago was hit by devastating floods and raise awareness about bitcoin in this region, especially among the young. The library is located in Bosnia, Doboj. Doboj is a city in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina, country which was devastated by a civil war in the nineties.

The floods that happened two weeks ago have destroyed local economy, cultural and educational institutions and city infrastructure, not to mention residential areas.

http://vimeo.com/96696699

The library lost all of its book collection, furniture, computers. Most of the users of the library were children of the age from 14 to 18 years. There are more than 300 members of the library and they don’t pay any membership. Library is open 5 days a week and have one employee who is financed by the local public gymnasium.

Picture of the library after the floods.

http://www.dodaj.rs/f/1y/9C/1UFrB4BY/bibpopo3.jpg

Needless to say that there are not enough funds in the local budget. Reasons are many, one of them incompetent and corrupted local government. Because of that we will bypass government agencies and do everything by ourselves.

I will leave if needed contact of the person in charge of the library. She is desperate in finding some funds and persons that are willing to help. She is editor in chief of a local newspaper for high school students, and she is willing to promote bitcoin with a series of articles.

I will control the funding address. I already did some similar projects in this region with success, but this time I need help from international community.

Thank you for your attention.

No need to wait for more BS from YiFu. Who cares if he is sending 40k, or 50k of chips every day.

Chips are 2 months late, and that is unacceptable, because the profit margin on chips is much, much smaller than it ever was with first ASIC miners.

The chip sale was advertised as "NO BS" with 9-10 weeks lead time.
