1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Litecoin/Scrypt mining rig - 3x Sapphire 7950s - Sydney, Australia on: September 01, 2013, 07:33:01 AM
Up for sale is a bitcoin/litecoin mining rig. This is a custom build that I have put together and is a lot more sturdy and solid than those milk crate miners you see everywhere.
Have been running this miner for about a month now with solid performance.

Comes with HDD, DVD Drive, Kill-a-watt power consumption meter, wifi, all power cables, extra pci-e extender cables, also includes a 17" monitor.

The mining rig is currently set up and mining, and is ready to mine litecoin, bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency. All you need to do is turn it on, and enter in your mining pool details.

This miner runs at an average of 65 degrees, and gets 1800Mh/s mining bitcoin, and 1800Kh/s mining litecoin. This is very cool for a mining rig, typically mining rigs run at 80 degrees and above, which I think is running a risk of failure. This rig keeps cool and will run non-stop.

The unit has top shelf components, and has been a solid performer with no issues. If you want you could also add on another GPU (7950) to increase mining performance up to 2400Kh/s. The power supply is more than adequate to handle 4 GPUs if that's what you want, I have extra powered risers that would be included.

No time wasters. Send me an email/pm to inquire.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ▄▀ [PSA]: Guide to (solo) mining bitbar ▀▄ on: May 10, 2013, 06:26:25 AM
Guide to solo mining bitbar:

All you have to do is follow the steps for other solo mining:

First, download the bitbar qt client:

Set up a username and pass in bitbar.conf

Code:
    server=1
    rpcuser=USERNAME
    rpcpassword=PASSWORD
    rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
    rpcport=9344

Download cgminer (http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/2.11/cgminer-2.11.4-windows.7z) (http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/) {Don't forget the Catalyst drivers and SDK}, then in cgminer input your username and pass, then set the URL in cgminer to http://127.0.0.1:9344

Code:
    cgminer --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:9344 -u USERNAME-p PASSWORD

Or create up a custom .bat file (ie minebitbar.bat) and input the above code into the bat file in a text editor. Set your own custom settings for maximum hashrate.

Is solomining viable at this point? Hard to say, if your hashrate is high >2000kh/s, then yes, perhaps. Current difficulty has risen due to the addition of bitbar to coinchoose and to the exchange bter. I would expect difficulty to lower in the coming days, when it does, it would be a great time to solomine if you can spare the hashpower.

Alternatively, join one of the pools! Use similar settings to the above, but with the url and port changed to the pools, and the username and password changed to your workers

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Network hashrates of Alternate Cryptocurrencies on: May 08, 2013, 05:42:25 AM
Can anyone provide a list or a graph of the estimated network hash rates of all alternative cryptocurrencies? Either the current network hash rate or the hash rate over say, the last 3 months?

Does anyone else have these cards?
They're eating 400W per card under load!

Here are my settings:

cgminer --device 0 --device 1 --remove-disabled --scrypt -I 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1400 --thread-concurrency 21712

Getting about 610kh/s each, screenshot:

cgminer reports VDDC as 1.125V, gpu-z confirms this

Anyone know what could be going on?
