1  Economy / Scam Accusations / AlternativeCypt IS A SCAMMER - confirmed by Elacoin developer on: May 14, 2013, 09:18:39 AM
I am the developer for Elacoin.

AlternativeCypt is a scammer. He tried to sell more ELC than there was in existence at the time of posting. In addition, I am fairly certain he did not mine that much.

Scammer tag please.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ELACOIN OFFICIAL WARNING: AlternativeCypt IS A SCAMMER] on: May 14, 2013, 08:46:50 AM
AlternativeCypt is a scammer. It is impossible for him to have got 3000 coins. He has stole thousands of dollars, check scammer accusations.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Official] So what happened to Elacoin? on: May 14, 2013, 06:49:11 AM
1. I give the source with everything ready to Hazard and dentldir
2. Hazard or dentldir mines 1.3k blocks, and distributes the source
3. I try to mine a new genesis block, but because I'm on a netbook I won't make the launch
4. I use a genesis block not matching the PoW, advice given by someone in the thread.
5. Future blocks cannot build upon this. Can't mine.

To those saying, "get everything ready before launch".. I have!

The problem is, someone leaked the source code so I had to redo it.

6  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Building Bitcoin-qt for Windows on Ubuntu on: May 13, 2013, 08:31:52 AM
How do I build bitcoin-qt for Windows on Ubuntu? Is there a step by step guide?

I've installed mingw32, https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/readme-qt.rst includes no instructions for Windows.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Elacoin | Released | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 13, 2013, 05:59:27 AM
Most alt coins have a very short life, because they're not announced in advance, and the only users of it are the early adapters or the preminers. Elacoin is an open cryptocurrency based on the Scrypt hashing algorithm, with a few innovative modifications:

OFFICIAL WARNING: AlternativeCypt IS A SCAMMER. DO NOT TRADE WITH HIM, HE CLAIMED TO HAVE MORE ELACOINS THAN WHICH WERE MINED

Elastic block reward algorithm based on the difficulty and Moore's Law
The more computational power you throw at it, the more each block will give.
The reward is halved every nine months to preserve the coin's value.

Stable Currency that Regulates Itself Through Supply and Demand
Less demand? Less hashpower, less block reward, less supply. Same value.
High demand? More hashpower, more block reward, more supply. Same value.

Fast Payments and Confirmations
The block target is one every 2 minutes, which is the perfect amount.
Fast enough without running into network IO limits, or bloating your hard drive.

Open to everyone. No premining, no shenanigans, announced release
Elacoin will be released after 24 hours of this message. Elacoin is not premined,
with the genesis block timestamping "Traffic from Syria Disappears from Internet".

The genesis block for Elacoin will be released after 24 hours of OP. Get your scrypt
miners ready (a miner is included in the client), and have fun  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

100% foolproof method: Don't give loans.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

If you still want to give loans, don't loan to people who can't get a credit card, after the CC company has judged that they will lose money giving them credit even with legal repercussions.
9  Other / Off-topic / OMG! Free milkshake and smoothie giveaway! on: February 19, 2013, 10:00:56 AM
While stumbling around the interwebz, I've discovered a ship that sells just milkshakes AND smoothies! To thank them for creating a business in honor of the two best bitcointalk users, I've decided to give away free smoothie and milkshake packages. It seems like they only ship in UK and nearby countries, but I've emailed them to be sure.

Not just one, but a whole box of "35 x 100g pouches." !!!  Grin Grin Grin
