As far as I understand, if I don't want to pay any fees, I have that option. 1. Am I right assumming this? 2. I cant seems to force blockchaif.info to make a transactions without fees. Why?

I am wondering, are fees mandatory? 1. Does the official client enforces them? 2. Does blockchaing.info wallets enforce them? I always put 0.00000000 BTC as the fee in My blackchain.info wallet but sometime is still insists on including a fee. Why is that? 3. I understand the current fee is 500 uBTC. At the current BTC price it is a noticeable fee. When and if it will go down?

I currently use an blockchain.info as My wallet. I am very paranoidal person by nature, but I am also a creature of comfort.
Blockchain.info seems to the best of two worlds.
But what I want a more secure wallet? I would go with all the hassle of booting up a Linux livecd and etc... But this is not very convenient, I will have to do it EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE MY BITCOINS!!!
I was wandering, what does the community thinks, what can be a great solution of both easy and secure wallet?

In general, I cant find anywhere the answer to the question why the concept of transactions fees even exists. The closest thing to an answer was "to support the miners". Can somebody please elaborate on the subject?

I hope it is the right forum for this question. It started approximately a week ago. My wallet is on blockchain.info. Once per day approximately, I would receive 0.00000005 BTC. I don't know who is sending, I don't know why. It started happening all of a sudden. Any ideas what can it be?
