1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] MAD Network - A Decentralized Network for the Advertising Industry on: November 08, 2017, 05:07:21 AM

MAD Network is a decentralized ecosystem designed to minimize the role of intermediaries and return lost value to advertisers and publishers

The MAD Network is a toolkit of decentralized applications aimed at facilitating peer-to-peer exchange of ad campaigns, ad inventory and data via a distributed network of exchanges, servers and data management platforms. The MAD Network will be comprised of multiple blockchain layers including a payment rail and a proof-of-real-work blockchain.

The MAD Network is a direct response to the “disappearing ad dollar,” a pervasive industry problem that leaves publishers with less than 40 cents of every advertising dollar spent. The remaining value is absorbed by intermediaries who collect rent by entrenching themselves as the only bridge between advertisers and publishers.

Blockchain technology removes the need for trusted intermediaries by enabling distributed databases that ensure the integrity of their content. By removing trusted intermediaries from the equation, the MAD Network will push more value to the advertisers and publishers — the beginning and end points of the ad tech supply chain.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Po.et - digital creative assets timestamped onto the blockchain on: July 17, 2017, 05:47:22 PM

Po.et is a shared, open, universal ledger designed to record metadata and ownership information for digital creative assets. Po.et is a continuation of Proof of Existence, the first non-financial application of the blockchain. By creating an open platform on the Bitcoin blockchain, Po.et aims to create the most institutional, globally-verifiable record of digital media assets. This record will be a framework for building smart, interoperable media applications using a shared, standard and extensible metadata format.

In the same way that blockchain technologies have revolutionized the financial industry by creating immutable and distributed accounting ledgers serving as a platform for financial applications, Po.et will transform the publishing industry by creating an immutable and distributed ledger for creative works that may serve as a platform for both centralized and decentralized media applications.

You can browse the Po.et Block Explorer in our Alpha Release.

General Token Sale Overview

Po.et will be holding it's POE token sale on August 8th at 8AM EST. 50% of the total number of tokens will be distributed to the community during the sale. Of the remaining Po.et tokens, 10% will be distributed to the early investors who funded Po.et development prior to the token sale. An additional 10% will be distributed over time to publishers, journalists, alpha partners and others who contribute to growing the Po.et network. The Po.et Foundation will retain 22% of all tokens for long-term development, with the remaining 8% going to the early team and founders.

The Po.et Foundation will use all funding to support ongoing development and growth of the Po.et network. The majority of funding will be used for developer salaries and bounties for open-source contributions to Po.et.

6  Bitcoin / Meetups / Oldschool Bitcoiners coming to Berlin for conf, want to meet local btc community on: February 08, 2014, 01:56:18 AM
Hi! I'm flying to Berlin tomorrow from the States (Alabama to be exact) for the Inside Bitcoin conference next week. My company yBitcoin is one of the sponsors. I'll be in Berlin untill next Saturday, and while there would like to take the opportunity to meet the local community. I will be traveling with my girlfriend, a group of friends that are old school Bitcoiners, and a couple others that are well known in the BTC space. If you're a native of Berlin, are working there in the BTC space, or are also attending the conference, please pm so we can coordinate and meetup. I have a few commitments, but my schedule is still somewhat flexible- so please contact me! I've been to every Bitcoin conference over the past year, and by far my favorite part is getting to meet the local community and hear what is happening on the ground...

you can also email me at david@ybitcoin.net

Prost!

7  Economy / Service Discussion / Did Mt. Gox let go of a lot of staff today? on: January 28, 2014, 02:12:02 AM
Post on reddit that is claiming Mt. Gox let go of a bunch of staff today- especially on the support side. Timing seems interesting if true. Can anyone confirm this?

8  Economy / Speculation / Time Bitstamp clears wires... on: November 18, 2013, 07:26:38 AM
If any of you ever use Bitfinex, you know that often you can only trade on the Bitfinex books as all of their fiat in their Bitstamp account is emptied.. leaving you with an orderbook that can sometimes get very disconnected from Bitstamp prices until the next deposit from Bitfinex is cleared (normally within 24 hours) does anyone know exactly what time of day BitStamp clears those wires?

10  Economy / Securities / Quick question about listing on Havelock... on: November 05, 2013, 12:14:10 AM
I'm sure this is already written somewhere but wasn't able to find it... What is the process like and where do you begin if you wanted to get a security listed on Havelock? For example, if I owned a non Bitcoin business that generated several million in revenue, would it be feasible to an IPO through Havelock to help raise some additional capital? Seems like there are tons of mom and pop business out there that could offer stellar dividend... would also create a market for a legit BTC accounting firm.

Thanks!
11  Bitcoin / Meetups / Unofficial night events for Bitcoin Europe on: September 23, 2013, 02:10:16 PM
So I've had a handful of people PM me that they will be attending but a rollcall/pm would be useful just so I have a sense of scale when requesting seating etc.. I highly recommend coming to this type of stuff, as it really is a lot of fun and the best way to network... I've attended all the BTC conferences this year, and I can tell you the lasting connections I've made, and best insider input I've heard, has always come from these types of events...

As of now, the unofficial night events for the Bitcoin Europe conference in Amsterdam are as follows (all of these except Bo Cinq are in the vicinity of where the conference is taking place [Jordaan]):

Wednesday the 25th: Nothing official, but for those that like to unwind after travel and still get the chance to meet Bitcoiners Paradox Coffee Shop in Jordaan starting at 9:00PM (has great reviews!) Site: http://www.paradoxcoffeeshop.com/ Map: http://goo.gl/bwQbVX

Thursday the 26th: Meet up for drinks and cigars at the sleek Bo Cinq Bar starting at 8:00 PM Site: http://www.bocinq.nl/ Map: http://goo.gl/tvxW79

Friday the 27th: Conference has started, and likely plans will evolve, but if nothing is set into motion come to the famous Cafe Sound Garden (rated top 10 bars) in Jordaan at 7:30 PM for networking and chitchat (only a few minutes walk from conference) Site: http://www.cafesoundgarden.nl Map: http://goo.gl/YulcMM
12  Economy / Speculation / Did anyone else notice CNY/BTC volume surpassed aggregate USD/BTC volume today? on: September 23, 2013, 02:12:51 AM
According to what I've been tracking, this is a first time event and IMO one of the most significant milestones of the year.  http://btckan.com/price
13  Bitcoin / Meetups / Any speculators going to Amsterdam for conference? on: September 19, 2013, 03:07:43 AM
Hey everyone! In keeping with tradition, I'm xposting some information about meetups happening in Amsterdam during/before Bitcoin Europe 2013 as an opportunity for us to network and speculate IRL... These meetups at previous conferences have been a lot of fun, a great chance to have more intimate conversations in a laid back environment, and a way to get the inside scoop about what's going on in Bitcoin... Basically it's a great time to get insider info without having to worry about the SEC or seeming uncouth. So please come out and meet some fellow speculators/bitcoiners- I have to admit, from the growing number of you I've met so far, we're a pretty cool bunch! (spoken with bias)

As it stands now:

Wednesday the 25th: Nothing official, but for those that like to unwind after travel and still get the chance to meet Bitcoiners Paradox Coffee Shop in Jordaan starting at 9:00PM (has great reviews!) Site: http://www.paradoxcoffeeshop.com/ Map: http://goo.gl/bwQbVX

Hi Everyone! Should have posted on this board earlier but just had the thought! I wanted to share a project my family's publishing company has been working on for several months in conjunction with some of the top names in the Bitcoin space. Named yBitcoin, it is a quarterly, advertiser-supported, magazine designed to introduce people to Bitcoin and invite them into our community... In support of that goal, we're trying to present the most effective case possible for Bitcoin adoption and are drawing from some of the top Bitcoin experts in the industry (Erik Voorhees, Tony Gallippi, Andreas Antonopoulos, Tuur Demeester, KnC Miner, and several other All-Stars) along with editorial partnerships with Bitcoin Magazine and CoinDesk. I can't reveal too much about our advertisers yet, but suffice to say we have some of the biggest Bitcoin companies joining our premiere issue.. an important feature for a magazine geared to new comers (we want to make sure they have a great user experience before they become truly educated on the ecosystem). Our print date (target) is for magazines to ship from our printer the 1st week of November so this is something you'll definitely be seeing much more of in 2013! Keep an eye out! You can learn more about us at http://yBitcoin.net and can contact me if you have any interest in advertising (david@ybitcoin.net).

And yes, we accept Bitcoin!

All the best,

David Bailey

-FEC decision on whether BTC can be used in political contributions
-Launch of yBitcoin (shameless plug!)
-Conferences including Amsterdam/Atlanta/Manila/Las Vegas

-Launch of BTC Global exchange
-Some type of official relationship with eBay
-Bitcoin ticker publicly available at Bloomberg terminals
-CoinSetter finishes beta
-Aggregate Chinese Bitcoin volume exceeds Aggregate volume of MtGoc/BitStamp/BTCe for first time
-Delivery of first 28nm ASIC
-Installation of first public Bitcoin ATM!

What are your thoughts or suggestions? What should we be looking forward to?
19  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB used ASIC USB block erupter on: August 09, 2013, 04:25:02 PM
Hey everyone! I am wanting to buy a used but working USB block erupter to have around the yBitcoin office.. this is not for profitability but just out of fun and our curiosity. Anybody interested in selling one of theirs for a reasonable price? I didn't want to wait for shipping delays and don't really need a new one either since we're just going to be toying around with it.

Thanks,

/db
20  Bitcoin / Meetups / NYC Inside Bitcoin roll call- who's going and preconference meetup.. on: July 16, 2013, 04:25:09 PM
Hey everyone- just recently returned back to the states since the London conference (had to take a brief business trip afterwards, working on email backlog now!) but am gearing up for the NYC conference. Interested to know who's going to be there and who would be interested in going out for drinks before and having a smaller/more intimate preconference meetup. Anyone interested in doing something Monday evening? Similar meetups we put together in San Jose and London were a great experience and a great place to shoot the shit and get to know the community better.  Ill be staying at the New Yorker and definitely want to check out EVR bar. Let me know, I want to meet as many bitcoiners as possible!
