1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Equihash GPU mining on AMD.. when will it happen? on: November 01, 2016, 07:48:03 PM
Im curious if anyone knows of a fully functional general purpose opencl gpu miner for Equihash? If not is there a definitive date at which time the functionality will be available?

Nvidia users are able to mine, as are all CPUs. But those who have AMD cards are unable to utilize them to profit similarly or mine as part of any pool, only one according to the internet, and I don't mine there. Most other AMD users running on Windows are left high and dry playing the waiting game while nvidia users enjoy healthy profits, which to me should not have happened as it boils down to lost profits and therefore lost money. GPU miners should have been held out of public view until they were ready to run on devices from both manufacturers. As it sits right now I don't know if I'll ever be able to mine in Windows using amd, I've been told "they're working on it" which is all fine and good. Except for the lost profits which are very very bad. Professionals wouldn't have released a half-functional product and then left half the user base without any option except to watch everyone else rake it in. Thats very poor execution. I'm primarily referring here to Nicehash and the miners that are included with Nicehash Miner, its my main pool.

Any info or update on this would be much appreciated! :-)

Regards

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / YoBIT.net account blocked after it was hacked, now I'm blocked from my coins on: May 18, 2016, 02:36:15 PM
I hope this is the right spot for this thread, but I'm just looking for community input on a situation I'm facing with YoBIT.net. My account was blocked yesterday without warning to me of any sort (warning would have allowed me to change my password and withdraw my funds, which would be standard procedure at all financial institutions typically) which has resulted in my inability to access my funds. I've asked twice that my account be closed and given a bitcoin address to return my account balance to, but so far there has been no transfer.

While I agree that blocking my account was proper action on the part of YoBIT, I'm having a little trouble answering why I was not informed and why there has been no effort to return the account balance to it's rightful owner. This is NOT an accusation that anyone is trying to keep my money from me, however I would think that returning it would be a top priority for YoBIT lest people start to feel that there is more to the story than a spammer hack. Fortunately I keep the bulk of my crypto in my own wallets, but these unanswered questions bother me somewhat..

Has anyone here had a similar experience? If so please share how it was resolved and/or any ideas you may have to help.
