1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Brand new mining venture - electrcity costs at sub 4.5 cents but profit share on: September 05, 2021, 02:03:25 PM
Dear all
I have spent close to 3 years on the basics of this venture, I can now categorically claim 4.5 cent per KW.
Am interested in containerised mining operation
My electricity supplier also has a suitable location in an industrial estate.
Electrical supply up 2MW.

Am looking for technical and financial partners
Realistic prices and suppliers for ASIC's, cooling, cabling and containers.
There is absolutely no legislatory and authority risk......in fact there is support for establishing a 'data centre'

any advice is welcome
free or paid (small lighting fee)
interested parties, words of encouragement, ideas, suggestions, horror stories, cautionary advice,  potential partners....please post replies here in the first instance.

thanks for your interest.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC ATM's installation and business model, any advice? on: February 15, 2020, 11:55:09 AM
I am UK based and looking to setup a BTC ATM, initially just one or maybe two locations, I'd rather not lease or take on a franchise, but run a machine myself. Has anyone any experience in this?, where's a good place to buy the actual machines? - I've seen a range of prices from US to China, how is easy is the software setup? I know the turnover question is difficult to answer but selling small amounts of SATs, can one location sell up to 1 btc per day?, any other things I should be aware of? BTW am pretty much clued on local laws in the UK.
Thanks in advance
3  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New mining venture - consultation sought on: July 31, 2019, 11:41:32 AM
I've been into Bitcoin since 2016, heavily since 2017. Traded largely on LBC and used BTC for remittance and arbitrage. I have zero coding skills. Am an entrepreneurial businessman who believes strongly in 'hard' money and the ethos behind bitcoin in particular and if proven alt coins in general. I am also not adverse to making money with a bit of hard work, honesty and luck.

I have potential VC capital of $300,000 USD and I looking to setup a Bitcoin mining farm. This farm is to be placed in a very inhospitable tropical climate in the middle of the forest but with access to cheap electricity. Will need to set our own internet access and obviously independent power source.

Am looking on setting up such an operation, from construction of bricks and mortar in the most efficient way to disperse heat, the deployment and installation of between 50 to 100 machines.....Antimer S17 or T17 seems a good bet (MicroBT Whatsminer M205 seems a good alternative) - whats with this Innosilison 200= T/h's? - (this a pointer how naïve I am Wink, advice on cabling and connections, advice on software and running the nodes, and all the other things I obviously don't know, I need advice on all these areas.

Free advice on this forum is very welcome but PM me if you can offer professional/semi professional advice for a fee (small fee Wink)
4  Economy / Scam Accusations / bitcoin-a-trade.com nice looking scam on: March 17, 2017, 06:02:27 PM
I used www.bitcoin-a-trade.com to turn 0.1 BTC last week to fiat in the UK last week. The transaction went very smoothly and within 30 mins I had the cash in my PayPal account. I heard about them as a reliable way of changing bitcoins to fiat in the UK.

However, in the last 48 hours I have sent them 0.5BTC, had no response from them, eventually they emailed to say due to high demand their systems can only take a minimum of 2BTC. They asked in me in a series of emails to add another 1.5BTC to make 2BTC and they would credit my PayPal account with a rate above preev.

As you can imagine I totally uncomfortable with this level of exposure, I emailed them pointing out the obvious concerns, they emailed several times over a 12-hour period reassuring me that they would credit my PayPal account immediately.

Me with my ‘greed’ and the ‘mug’ I am I sent the additional 1.5BTC. You guessed it………..

Surprise, surprise I get an email from them, saying their systems could not process the 2BTC, I need to add another 2BTC making it 4 BTC and they would pay out immediately, at above preev and charges to me.

By now the greed had cleared from my eyes, I asked for my initial coins back.

Long story short, am being told it will take up to a week to get my 2 BTC sent back to me.

I know I have been conned.
I’ll be lucky to get my 2 BTC back.

I’ll be keen to hear from anyone who has dealt with bitcoin-a-trade.com good or bad experiences.

My two satoshi advice……….stay well clear.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / OKpay how good is OKpay for UK based buyer? on: July 01, 2016, 07:17:23 AM
Hello guys

Another newbie question, how good, easy and cost effective is OKpay for UK based individual to buy BTC.
It seems you need to register and get verified before you can find out how much they charge and how long it takes for them to credit your account.
Does anyone know the answer?
Are they reliable?
Can UK banks transfer easily to OKpay?

Thanks in advance.

6  Economy / Exchanges / CampBX: is it worth buying BTC from them? on: June 19, 2016, 11:32:15 PM
I read so many negative reviews and reports about CampBX, such as frozen wallets, non deposit of fiat, not to talk about inability to withdraw fiat and none existent customer service.

But they have been around forever, have consistently the lowest price BTC and still seem to be in business.

has anyone had recent dealings with them? is it worth taking a punt?

thank you
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Remittance trading with BTC on: May 24, 2016, 06:38:25 PM
Am a small scale money transfer business, move money between the African diaspora and Africa, eg from cleaners sending a few £'s to their relatives in Ghana or from US to Nigeria.

Am thinking of using BTC's to smooth over the transfer (knocks out transfer fees and banks prying eyes) and possibility improve ultimately profitability by trading in BTC's as well as capitalising on differences and movements in fait currency exchange rates.

Am planning on settling in Hong Kong or Singapore for my daily banking transactions (I believe banks here and regulations are more accommodating).

I am targeting a turnover of hopefully $100,000 daily, BUT my initial trades will only be a fraction of this, like the $300-$1000 to test the market and see if I can upscale.

I am seeking a profit margin of 1percent of thereabouts.

Does anyone have any experience in this area?
What are the best exchanges (or other sources) to use to buy and  sell BTC?
Is it feasible to trade up $100,000 worth of BTC daily?
Is HK and/or Singapore a good place to get good banking?
Is this an idea that can fly?

Any other comments, ideas, suggestions, arguments please please let me hear them?

Am a newbie here, please be gentle.......☺
