11  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockchain wallet "estimated confirmation time unknown" on: May 15, 2013, 08:49:44 PM
Hi everybody,

A payment was sent to me at 1:30 EST today from a blockchain.info wallet. Blockchain.info confirms that the transaction was sent: https://blockchain.info/tx/25de6b65f77fcd27668c80e4e3ad20c97ed0c0adbea2b22d6d5f3b2122ed7e58

But it says the estimated confirmation time is unknown. Further, the address I received it with is a bitcoin-qt wallet; it hasn't even showed up on my client.

What could be the issue here?

17  Bitcoin / Project Development / Mine for Africa- Change the world now on: May 08, 2013, 05:55:07 AM
Hi everybody,

CURRENT OBJECTIVE: IMPLEMENT A CPU BROWSER MINER (see litecoinpool). Please help find someone willing to do this!

We should all get together and make a website that runs litecoinpool's javascript browser CPU miner to allow people to mine a small amount of coins.

We can then donate/exchange these coins into cash and give it to an organization that you, I, and local African non-profits can set up to promote the purchase of clean water, food, condoms etc in an African country of our choice.

I am a busy person but I have the money and years of NGO experience to throw at this.

Please feel free to use this topic as a brainstorm for how to best develop the project. If you have the minimal level of web dev and design experience necessary to get this going, please post here.

Costs
-Domain: 12.95 per year
-Hosting: 4.00 per month

Plan
-CPU and or GPU mine profitable alt-coins
-Exchange for BTC via BTC-E and etc
-Convert this into cash or physical goods, whichever is easiest
-Get goods on the ground and in the right hands in Africa
-Facilitate free markets and vital health services (food, water, AIDS prevention) to get micro-economic growth going.

Shouldn't be that hard.

Get excited and do something with your spare time to help others who need it....

Notice that the price of 1 Bitcoin is more than many Africans make in a month in Mozambique, Congo, Guinea, Malawi etc...

Thanks!
18  Economy / Computer hardware / Selling 7950s to NON-US customers on: May 07, 2013, 11:48:22 AM
Hi everybody,

I know you guys are getting burned paying for customs in the UK and EU, so I am looking to help you all out.

The average price for a Sapphire/Gigabyte 7950 is around 405 USD (not including shipping), correct?

Here in the US it is about 310 depending on shipping and rebates. Shipping from NY to London via USPS ranges from 25-75 dollars depending on time (4-14 days) and insurance (I can select whatever you like).

By my math that leaves about a 30-50 margin between prices, and that is not factoring in the costs you would incur paying shipping and exchange rate fees yourself.

If you are interested in this deal, I will be as transparent as possible with you. We can share private shipping and contact info as well as have Skype calls. I feel I am a pretty trustworthy person, so I will try to keep risk to a minimum for you.

PM me for offers, more accurate quotes, and more questions. Thanks!
19  Economy / Goods / WTS Thousands of collectors stamps on: May 07, 2013, 11:08:53 AM
Hi everybody,

PS: I will do bulk offers or pay per stamp Cheesy

I have a large (10,000+) collection of international and US stamps, all VFNH. I will index prices to USD at the market value of Bitcoin/Litecoin (or any other currency provided you wait for me to exchange it at BTC-E)!

If you have never invested in stamps before, I am looking to give you a great deal. This collection was the life's work of my grandfather and he is very anxious to see it sold onto someone who would like to get started.

Stamps, like luxury cars and artwork, hold value over time vs. USD and are usually quite liquid and way less volatile than crypto-currencies.

Below are some examples of what stamps we have, I can provide pictures if you like! Otherwise you can look them up in the online catalogs.
