1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / How to query the blockchain - advanced search? on: June 01, 2022, 01:04:07 PM
hi there,
I'm wondering if there are any public tools to do an advanced search on the BTC blockchain, for example;

All transactions that match:
Date range e.g. October 20-30th, 2013.
where coin transfer amount = 4
From existing wallet with balance > 0
To new wallet with balance < 0

Reason is to help a friend who lost track of his wallet address, but still has his password. The senders address is unavailable.

Thankyou
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Recovering wallet from 2013 mining on: December 11, 2020, 10:53:14 AM
Hi,

I started this thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5297530.msg55794505

And have managed to follow those instructions as per below.

I've got a 2013 wallet on an old PC. Around that time I joined BTC guild and did a little mining. I cannot remember how long I did it for. I'm also not sure if the satoshi went to the wallet.dat file or into the guild under my username.

The old PC is not working properly, so I copied the wallet.dat to a new PC. Downloaded BitcoinCore, updated the blockchain, and then copied the wallet.dat into the bitcoin wallet folders.

When I try to view the wallet after it says Loading blocks
I get this error, then it shuts down.

What should I do?

Thanks
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Recovering BTC from 2013 mining on: December 06, 2020, 03:11:35 PM
I joined the BTCGuild mining pool back in 2013 and was doing some small scale mining with GUIminer on my GPU. Honestly it was all very new and over my head, and I'd forgotten I'd even done it.

I was able to boot into this old PC (its offline and barely even loads windows now) and ran GUIminer, but it says Balance 0.
The view summary and view console doesn't do anything.
The log file in the directory is empty.

I do have my username/password for BTCguild.

Is there any way I can find out more information?

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Broker with leveraged trading + big list of alt coins on: April 19, 2020, 06:23:09 AM
I was looking to find a Trading broker that has a big list of cryptocurrencies with maximum leverage (ideally 100x)?

So far I've found Bitmex and Cryptorocket. (Etoro's list of alt coins is a bit small and only 2x leverage so not so good)

For anyone else interested..

Bitmex, I can only see a total of 8 cryptos on offer.
With the smallest max leverage being 20x for XRP,etc. (100x for BTC).

Cryptorocket,
Has 35 crypto instruments (including crosses) and told me they have 100x leverage on each of them.
I don't know much about these guys so not sure how solid they are.

Would be good to find somewhere that is offering some sort of leverage on the top 100 crypto's, probably not possible, but what have you found that offers the most diversity and leverage?

thanks.

6  Economy / Speculation / Timing bullish breakouts - back to basics on: February 08, 2020, 03:49:45 AM
I put together this video for my friends who don't have much trading experience. Thought I'd share with others.
I'm using weekly candlesticks (2013-2020) and common trading setups to see when's the best time for entry to catch the upside breakouts.
It's a basic video but highlights some of the bull traps, and my own insights gained from many years of trading and study. It's useful for

I put together a bar by bar analysis on the weekly charts from 2013-Today.

Would be interested in any feedback about my commentary especially from candlestick technical analysts or any feedback in general.
As I will publish it live after that.

8  Economy / Services / Which way to go from Paypal/CC -> Gift cards -> Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2019, 02:02:42 PM
Hi,
I tried to answer this question through search but got really bogged down in the details and finding current info.

I'd like to use paypal or credit card to buy Gift cards (or a VCC), then exchange them for bitcoin.
Wondering which gift cards give the best conversion rate to bitcoin?
And any tips on where I can buy gift cards online?
A good place to exchange gift cards for Bitcoin? e.g. paxful , does this offer the best exchange prices for gift cards?

thanks for any tips.
9  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for video editor/youtube creator partner on: June 19, 2016, 01:12:45 PM
I'd like to create a youtube channel dedicated to bitcoin related video content.
It would cover mostly;
Technical analysis of bitcoin (and possibly Ethereum)
How to fund a bitcoin account
How to transfer funds

The videos would need some basic video editing done, such as adding a watermark, and cleaning anything up.
And then be uploaded to the youtube channel.

I will use a video screen capture tool to record my videos with voice over.
I have many years experience studying candlestick charts and doing technical analysis. And can often see formations that denote a highly likely up or down move based on a lot of common patterns through bitcoins trading history.

Skills looking for in partner;
Video editing experience with a portfolio or past videos to view.
Set up a new youtube account for us (or use an existing one that has a bitcoin related name in it).
Willing to help promote the channel through posting to relevant websites.

Payment;
option a OR b.
a) get paid per video. about $10.
b) we share profits 50/50.
I will explain how we can profit from this channel privately. e.g. paid subscribers, donations and other ways.

If we do the partnership , a big factor is trust. So I'd like to meet and chat on skype, I have some ideas how we can build trust and equally share the profits, and do this work together over the internet. I am in Australia.

Thanks
Pete.
