I remember someone in the last couple weeks was looking to buy btc-e codes - someone who lurks alt-crypto subforum. Search didn't yield much.

I've currently got a pair of XFX6870s that I'm finding can only hash at about 500khs (Litecoin obvi) now that the ambient temps are rising due to the season change.
I'm pretty confident I can sell the pair for about $275 and am considering doing so in favor of a single 7950 - which would cost me another $40 or so on top of the $275 I get from the pair of XFX cards. Does this seem like a good idea?
Anyone got stats on heat and wattage for a maxed out 7950 doing scrypt? Anyone got advice for which particular 7950 to get thats in stock at newegg.com right now?
Thanks!

Hello, CampBX doesn't post their fees (if any) for transferring out BTC via a bitcoin address from their exchange. Has anyone done this recently and are able to tell me what fees I could expect?
This isn't in their FAQ which only mentions that CampBX-to-CampBX transfers are free.
Thanks!

It seems like ATI could design, fab, and deliver easily and in a short timeframe, given their existing infrastructure.

OK so this may be a foolish question since I'm completely new to multi-GPU.
I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 with (2x) 16x and (2x) x4 slots.
I have (2x) XFX 6870 and (1x) XFX 6670.
Ideally I'd like to use the 6670 for desktop GFX and the two 6870s for LTC processing.
Is this possible, or would I need (3x) x16 slots? The only reason I ask is because it appears that people are stringing additional GPUs from 1x slots, so maybe all lanes aren't needed for processing somehow?
Thanks!

Right now I'm running a single 6870 at stock speeds (900/1050) @ intensity 17 and getting about 290 kH/s sustained at 69C in Xubuntu 12.04 LTS with the 2.4SDK and 2.6 driver.
I've got a 2nd 6870 waiting to go in - have to wait on a bigger PSU. 2 questions about this upcoming upgrade: 1. Are the gains of a 2nd adapter usually 2x or some smaller percentage, like +75% so far as hash rate goes? 2. Do I need the crossfire adapter or do I run these independently? I've never had more than one GPU before...
Anyone got any advice for optimizations or gotchas I should be aware of for this configuration?
Thanks!

I'm posting this in newbies so as not to trash up the mining forum with stupid questions -
My worker stats in notroll.in's worker page show 360+ kH/s which is higher than I've ever gotten to with my single 6870, which seems to max out around 290kH/s.
Does anyone know if this is common to be off in pool reporting by a factor of like 70kH/s?

I've just set up cgminer for a single 6870, and am getting about 270K at intensity level 15. After reading the below statement, I'm a bit confused. The rate at intensity 9 is a piddly 38K. Is heeding the advice below actually optimal? Right now these are my stats running at an average of 15: E: 343% U: 6.9/m WU: 221.1 A:297 DW: 172
NOTE: Running intensities above 9 with current hardware is likely to only diminish return performance even if the hash rate might appear better. A good starting baseline intensity to try on dedicated miners is 9. Higher values are there to cope with future improvements in hardware. If running at intensity 9 is actually more profitable I'm all for it since my desktop responsiveness and wattage would be much better at anything 13 or below. Thanks!

Hello Folks, I'm a decent Linux Sysadmin with a couple years of typical RHEL experience and am pretty comfortable with RHEL 6. I spent a while trying to get the OpenCL components of your basic CGMiner setup running in RHEL and threw in the towel.
I moved to the mess that Fedora 18 is, because I wanted to stick with something at least partially familiar, and it looks like nobody can even get the darn ATI proprietary drivers running on the Fedora 3.8 kernel - I made a couple runs at it and bombed out each time.
Since the mining efforts for LiteCoin are a bit less popular than Bitcoin right now, the documentation for getting RHEL and Fedora running are thin.
This post is to see if anyone is doing this successfully yet.
I'm about ready to throw in the towel and spin up a Ubuntu partition though it pains me to do so - I hate running RHEL during the workday and using something else at night.

Folks, I've just posted to FedoraForum with the same offer: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1641206#post1641206I'll start providing more details about the various areas I'm getting tripped up as I hit them, and if anyone shows any interest. (I hit a major one in the form of my ATI drivers totally destroying themselves and needing to re-install to ensure a fresh starting point)

So the info page for LiteCoin says: Litecoin uses scrypt as a proof-of-work scheme. Scrypt adds memory-intensive algorithms to reduce the efficiency of the kind of parallelization that GPUs offered in early Bitcoin mining. This led to Litecoin primarily being mined with CPUs at the beginning. Later CPU-based mining was largely replaced by more energy-efficient GPU-based mining, currently the dominant Litecoin mining technology.
Does this mean that system memory (size? speed?) used to be a large factor but has now been minimized, or is it still a factor in mining? I've got 2 decent GPUs coming, but currently only run 16GB of RAM. Do I need to think about this as a bottleneck? I can go out to 32GB for another $100

Am I correct that in bitcoin this is baked into normal mining activities? This isn't something I can just point my bitcoind at and start processing transactions for others?

So back in the glory days (2011/04), I spent $14 to buy 20 BTC. I then promptly forgot about BTC for two years and just now realized I'm sitting on almost $900.
This has my speculatory interests piqued to say the least.
I'd like to dump perhaps $100 USD into LiteCoin, but I don't want to give up any of my BTC. Does the following seem like the least-BS way to get LiteCoin?
* Send $100 check to CampBX [$0.40 for a stamp] * Do a "Spend-X Trade" for $100 of bitcoin [fees unknown] * Transfer out (withdraw) my newly purchased bitcoins to my local bitcoin wallet [fees unknown] * Transfer new bitcoins out from my local wallet into Vircurex [free] * Buy LiteCoins at market price from Vircurex [1 LTC fee] * Transfer newly traded-for LTC into local wallet [1 LTC fee]
Is this the simplest safe method or are there better paths to LTC (other than mining a minuscule amount at a time)
Thanks Ya'll!

From what I've seen about the pre-order stats (tens of thousands of units) and when people are speculating that an order placed now would actually arrive (late summer or fall?), does anyone think a 60GH/s unit that arrived in August or September has any hope of paying itself off, let alone making a profit?
It seems ASICs look like a double edged sword, everyone said typical GPU ROI was 200%, but with the skyrocket of ASICs I don't know if any ROI is going to be possible.
Opinions?
