1  Other / Meta / Current stance towards automatic service bumping bots? on: February 07, 2019, 10:30:29 AM
I am currently planning on developing an automatic bump bot for some of the services I have listed in the Services section and was wondering if this does not interfere with any rules or regulations on this forum.

Some information about requirements I have set myself for the bot:

 - It will delete the previously posted bump message before posting a new bump message.
 - If it fails to delete the previous bump message, it will stop running immediately and stops posting any more bump messages to avoid cluttering.
 - Bumps will be posted every 24 hours (or slightly above that because of the no-delete rule for posts younger than 24 hours).
 - The scraping of posts is done using the wap2 version of the post.
 - The bump message remains the same message during all times (and includes a line of text explaining that it is an automatically posted message).

Is this allowed? Should I use a new newbie account or is using my own account for this okay?

Thanks in advance,

Adriandmen
2  Other / Meta / Sudden increase of spam activity on this forum on: September 08, 2018, 10:55:46 AM
I've noticed recently that the number of newbie accounts posting messages with almost no added value whatsoever. Examples of these newbie accounts are (links redirect to the list of messages posted by the account):

    - trafficburg
    - liquider
    - dotmango
    - clickcrawl
    - dotlytics
    - dotvolt

Most of these messages are either service related questions (with very poor grammar). Examples of these kind of messages (taken from the list above):

    - What you charge?
    - Price
    - Package charges
    - What your packages
    - Price very high
    - Extremely expensive
    - What is your budget?
    - Facebook followers cost
    - Very good service
    - Cost
    - Portfolio

Other messages that make even less sense are 'bump'-messages on topics that they do not own. Examples linking to their corresponding post:

    - Bump
    - Up
    - Up
    - Bump
    - Bump
    - Up
    - Bump
    - Bump

None of these bumps are on topics that they own and make therefore no sense at all. I am not sure if this has already been discovered by anyone else and I am also not sure how much of a problem this is going to be, but this activity seems very suspicious (and perhaps simulated by some kind of bot?). Anyone have an idea what the reasoning behind this would be?

5  Economy / Service Discussion / Stealing code from other signatures on: October 08, 2016, 08:58:12 AM
In the beginning, this wasn't such a problem, since people didn't do this kind of stuff.

Nowadays, I occasionally see signatures with BBCode art that are stolen from other signatures. Let's not call any names here.

Is this allowed? Do we have to put copyright licenses under each signature in order for this not to happen?

7  Economy / Economics / The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: July 16, 2016, 08:22:41 PM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's the deal with the sudden ETH drop? on: June 28, 2016, 01:53:36 PM
Looking at the graphs, it seems that ETH is dropping rapidly.

Why is that?
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / How to make a gambling site? on: June 26, 2016, 10:09:15 PM
Hi guys,

I've always wanted to make a gambling site, but what are the things I really have to keep in mind? I wanted to do something like a simple blockchain game, so people don't have to register etc.

Any thoughts?
10  Economy / Economics / Soo, I'm planning on buying €1000 in bitcoins. Yes or no? on: June 22, 2016, 11:45:54 PM
For me, this is kind of a huge investment, but should I actually do it?

What are the risks of doing this?
11  Economy / Services / [For Hire] ★ Experienced webpage designer (HTML/CSS/JS) and Python programmer ★ on: June 20, 2016, 09:35:36 PM
I need some money, so I'll do all kinds of programming tasks. This varies from web design to solving bugs etc.

I know the following programming/styling languages:

 - HTML, for several years now.
 - CSS, also for several years now.
 - Javascript/jQuery, for about 2 years.
 - Python, for about a year now.

Not very good at, but a fairly good understanding of:

 - PHP, completed the Codecadamy course :p.
 - C#, not using this a lot at the moment, used it a lot in the past.

I have the most experience in making simple and clean designs and making Python scripts for small tasks (like extracting data from a website). Name the task and the price and I will be working on it!

Check this site: https://adriandmen.github.io/ for more information.

Will always use an escrow.
