Here's how this works: - Email that I receive can only possibly come from the sites each address was used on - The address is only use on one site - The address doesn't exist outside of that site's database - Any mail going to that address is spam (unless it originates from the site where it was used, of course) -- The only way the address can be receiving spam is if the site is selling user data -- or more likely, got hacked / is leaking data (data stored in an open directory)
This is an ongoing list of scams. Anyone spamming these addresses has collected them from dumped databases. Anyone using stolen information to spam a service / product isn't going to be legitimate in any way.
I also suggest reporting these scams to their "affiliates", aka sites like CoinPayments, to make it more difficult for them to scam people.
I've finally been annoyed enough by these scams that I am making this thread, therefore I only have today's first spam. I'll update regularly.

Someone linked this in IRC: Open Port 8333 for Bitcoin CoreThe site checks if port 8333 is open and tells the user why it should be open. The site also links to information on how to open it if it's closed. Simple site with a simple message. What do you guys think?

New Litecoin P2Pool mining node! If you've seen one node, you've seen most of them. Website: http://ltc.lurkmore.comNode stats: http://ltc.lurkmore.com:9327Connect to: ltc.lurkmore.com:9327 Location: Las Vegas Fee: 1% Examples: cgminer --scrypt -o ltc.lurkmore.com:9327 -u LcwsBhmSnK86L8Ye6uBnFooemPArJnZP1X -p x cudaminer -o ltc.lurkmore.com:9327 -O LcwsBhmSnK86L8Ye6uBnFooemPArJnZP1X:x cgminer pool config: { "url" : "ltc.lurkmore.com:9327", "user" : "LcwsBhmSnK86L8Ye6uBnFooemPArJnZP1X", "pass" : "x" },
Some notes: - P2Pool payments can take up to 24 hours to ramp up after you start mining (due to the PPLNS payment system), please wait this long before seeking assistance
- Payouts require that you solve at least one share of difficulty greater than the P2Pool share target per day (see website for current target)
- You will notice an increased stale rate in your miner compared to a traditional pool, this is normal and expected behaviour for P2Pool (~10-20%)
- Payment occurs when a block is found; there are bots in #p2pool-ltc on irc.freenode.net announcing when this happens!

It seems there are some fools having arguments over BBQCoin (BBQ, BQC) right now. This thread is to help people to get on the right BBQCoin path. Some backstory will be provided after the useful information. The current official website, downloads and code repository will be listed below. Proof that the following information is the correct path to take is located in this failure of a thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=219651.0Downloads / Source The following links are the official places to get BBQCoin software and information: --- Official BBQcoin Github repository BBQCoin information is also on this page: http://www.lurkmore.com/wiki/Cryptocurrency_information_and_wallet_client_downloads
Syncing the client
When you have installed or compiled BBQCoin, find the bbqcoin.conf (%APPDATA%\BBQCoin in Windows, ~/.bbqcoin in Linux) and add one supernode from below. *need supernodes* P2Pool nodes Note: It's best to use P2Pool!-- LURKMORE BBQCoin P2Pool node-- darkgamex.chOther pools
-- BBQ PoolExchanges
-- Cryptsy BQC/BTC-- Bter BQC/BTCBlock explorer
-- darkgamex.ch block explorer for BBQCoinPayment processors

Here's the current situation, as of October 2013: After the original developer, Cubox, abandoned the coin, a few people got together and started to update the client. This happened about 6 months ago, as you can see from the thread linked above. It seems CaptChadd tried to fork BBQCoin; he didn't get any input from the community, nor from any of the other developers, and so his attempt was rejected. I had CaptChadd on ignore but forgot why until I read the following thread and realized (again) that it's because he's an idiot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198329.340. His thread is a joke: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198329.0. The thread doesn't contain any useful information in the OP post and it helps nobody. Notes:

A friend wrote the basic information that I expanded into this guide: Debian Linux cryptocoin mining rig setupThe guide takes you through the Debian install, the driver and SDK install, the cgminer compile, and so on. This can be used on any coin that cgminer supports--that means Litecoin, Bitcoin, every alt, etc. This guide is tailored to AMD GPU users, but NVIDIA users can just use different drivers and cudaMiner (I can't help you with that part). On that note, if someone who uses Linux and NVIDIA can post that information, it would be appreciated. The donation info on the guide is my friend's address, since without him the extremely minimal and simple guide wouldn't have been possible. The above system setup is the minimum needed to have your rigs running. That means you can run that system on as low as 512MB RAM. We both use 1GB RAM on our rigs since that's the cheapest you can get these days (2x1GB sets and put 1GB in each rig!). You can install Apache and PHP and have the monitoring script running (haven't added that info yet but you can figure it out with Google) with absolutely no extra overhead costs. You can log in with your favourite SSH program and monitor cgminer (by using Screen). I also added the guide to the Litecoin wiki but it might be out of date compared to the original. (crossposted from the Litecoin forums)

A good way to deal with trashcoins, and possibly scammers, is to have a team of people who check this thread out to find out who to put on their ignore list. When enough people have an account on ignore (not sure what the actual number is), that account's Ignore link changes colour. If we can organize a team of people who will put an account on ignore shortly after it's been reported, we can help stop the idiotic shitcoin threads (examples from just today: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=239201.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=239251.0) and possibly give warning to others about scammers. The idea is to visibly show everyone else that those accounts are shit by changing their Ignore links brown! A simple start would be for people to start ignoring the examples I made above (linked again below). If you are interested, it will be helpful if you reply and express your interest. You can also use your replies to make account suggestions of your own and/or discuss why suggested accounts should be ignored, or why they should be removed from the list if they are currently on it. The idea will be to simply look at the list below and add the people with red lines to your ignore list. If we ever want to remove anyone from this block list, their lines will turn green. To ignore someone, click on the link to the post and then click the Ignore link under the account's username.Note: Please don't quote this entire post as the list below will change often and it'll just get spammy. 2013/06/20sacramento, "RichCoin" pump and dump creator: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=239251.0hack_, "6coin" pump and dump creator: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=239201.0TruCoin, released scam coins, performed scam trades: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238620.02013/06/21valuecoin, yet another clone coin with one million coin premine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=239666.0ilovealtcoins, creator of shitcoin NuCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241128.02013/06/24MstCoin, shitcoin with over 100k premine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242406.02013/06/28coinmy, releases another Chinese shitcoin named MyCoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245442.0elambert, released a shitcoin with a 10 million coin premine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245086.0

Do not deal with hdclover. Scammers like him make self-moderated topics (just like this one) so they can delete all posts they do not like. Add him to your ignore list (click "Ignore" under his name). lol, nobody will sell at this price xD And thanks for putting some scammer tags into the topic title...that makes it much easier to find out your real purpose...
Don't worry, he will delete all posts in here that show him for what he is, a scammer who was part of the YAC spam the other day and is trying to scam today. i know ^^ he already did that in his last topic...now he closed it xD
