2  Economy / Service Discussion / New Service "snapCard" - purchase anything online with BTC? on: November 15, 2013, 03:02:33 AM
Just found this new service that I was referred to via Reddit (/r/Bitcoin) -- I was curious if anyone else has had a chance to check out/try out this service.

Apparently you can purchase from any online site using snapCard. I'd like to see how it works, and if it works with ANY site. I have a few in mind that do not accept BTC, and this would be perfect if it works.

If anyone wants to try it, I need to get 3 referrals to get into the Beta. Bit of a pyramid/referral scheme to get in... but I'd like to give it a shot and see how it works. I would be glad to report back my findings.

Use this link to sign up if you try it out.

Thanks - and let me know if you have any success with trying it!

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin/PHP: Can you pull an address balance via API? on: April 13, 2013, 04:19:29 AM
Hi all

I've been tinkering with a few PHP pages for my Litecoin mining (I'm a PHP newb)... just pulling down my miner data via the API keys provided by popular pools. Fun stuff.

My question is this: I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to pull down the "balance" of a specific address. I'm want to pull my own Litecoin Wallet balance down into my PHP page via API, but I can't seem to figure it out. I've visited the Litecoin ABE Explorer, and the Litecoin Scout - but it's not clear to me how to pull the balance down. It seems they have API calls for other things, but nothing specifically for the balance - unless you have to pull down multiple pieces of data...

If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to tap into the API properly to pull an address balance - that would be great!

Just need a little help, I'm stumped!

Thanks!

We were scheduled to launch a new cryptocurrency this week, but recent events have taken precedent. We're looking at 1~2 weeks now, but it will happen.

I don't have a bias one way or another, just wanted to share it here with everyone who missed it.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LTC: GPU Usage Spiking 100% <-> 64% - Any ideas? on: April 04, 2013, 07:20:26 PM
Hello,

Just configured up two 7950's on CGMiner in Win7 x64 - running good at 546 KH/s on each card mining LTC.

Using MSI Afterburner to OC because CGMiner OC wasn't reliable
1000 Core Engine & 1450 Memory Clock

Settings on CGMiner:
--intensity 20,20 --worksize 256,256 -g 1 -v 1 --lookup-gap 2,2 --thread-concurrency 21712,21712

For the first 5-10 seconds, the GPU runs at 100% utilization - and I see the hashing at around 560 KH/s - 600 KH/s. I'd like to see it stay there. But for some reason, after those first 10 seconds, the GPU usage jumps between 100% and 64% every second (image below) - and then the hashing locks in at 546 KH/s. The core & clock also jump as you can see in the image.

Any ideas why it might be happening?

9  Economy / Digital goods / WTS: World of Warcraft 30-day Gametime Prepaid - $10 on: March 26, 2013, 06:52:47 PM
[ SOLD OUT (for now) ]

Hey all,

I've just recently dove into Crypto-coin Mining, and I love it. So I have a whole bunch of WoW 30-day gametime cards available. I've made a mirror post of this on the Litecoin forums, and as well as on "BitMit".

-------------
World of Warcraft 30-Day Gametime Card
BTC
or
3.5 LTC
8x 0x Months Available
-------------

Please PM me if you're interested in purchasing some game time!
Common questions and concerns below.

Already Sold:
2x WoW Month via BitMit
2x Months on Litecoin Forums
2x Months on BitMit
6x Months of BitMit

-------------------------------------------

FAQ:

You can't buy 30-day time cards, this is a scam.
You might be curious how it's possible to acquire 30-day time cards, since they are not for sale anywhere else. Simple. I use the "World of Warcraft Visa" which is available only in the US, and accumulate the gametime every month. Everytime I spend $1500 on the CC, I receive a free month of WoW. And I tend to do a few thousand dollars worth of transactions on the card each month, so I tend to get a bunch of these months over time. I've personally sold about 100 of these to friends and family since I've owned the card (about 4 years now).

But what about the backcharge scam?
This also means, there is no "credit card backcharge" scam involved. These are NOT purchased with a Credit Card, but with "reward points" from the Credit Card company. So there is no fear of backcharging occuring. Once I use my reward points, I have the code and can't return it (see my image below of the codes I receive)

So How do I get my code?
After I've received confirmation of payment via LTC or BTC, I will send the 30-day time code via private message.

What happens if the code doesn't work?
The code is guaranteed to work if you are within the US/Americas region. Sorry no refunds if it doesn't work for some 1 in a million reason. I've never had a gametime code fail, and I've sold about 100 of these for USD (in person to friends/family or via email). And since this IS a digital item, I absolute can't do a refund. Sorry Sad

Proof (if you need it)
- Here is the WoW Visa Site for proof of this promotion: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/shop/rewards-visa/
- Here is a picture of the WoW 30-day Gametime emails I receive from Blizzard when I redeem the reward each month: https://i.imgur.com/6Z1OMWp.jpg
- Here is a picture of a PayPal transaction I completed a few weeks ago for some gametime that I sold to a friend: https://i.imgur.com/Bz85YUV.jpg
- Need more proof? I can provide more upon request.

NOTE: This gametime code is only valid in the US/Americas region (the email from Blizz above states this specifically)! Sorry EU folks Sad

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Merged Mining Question: BTC & NMC on: March 26, 2013, 02:44:20 PM
Cryptocoin newb here.

I'm setup on "BTC Guild" mining for BTC, and I was curious about the "merged mining" pool.

Do you lose any hashes for the BTC pool when doing Merged Mining? Or does it put all the hashes against both pools at the same time (how does that work?)

Just wanted to know if I would be more cost effective in doing Merged Mining since I would also generate NMC alongside BTC?

Thanks for any advice. Very new to this.
