1  Economy / Speculation / And now - the sucker's rally on: April 19, 2013, 07:26:05 AM
Guys,

Everything is by the book....

Here's the book

And here's where we are

It could stop here or at 150, 160, 185, 220...

But then it shall drop and shall become under-valued for a while - let's say 10$ ??

This is a simple question - and a very naive one so please just provide me with a good solid answer and only if you know what you are talking about.

If I pay using bitcoins - what gurantees me that I will get whatever I paid for?

With paypal and with credit-cards things are reversible but with bitcoin I need to trust the seller...

Please advice,

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Can the government shut down BitCoin? on: March 29, 2013, 05:04:58 PM
Yes...

I know the standard answer... - the government can't do nothing about BitCoin, it's a peer-2-peer thing, and it shall survive just like bit-torrent survived no matter what, and they will have to shut the internet in order to shut down bitcoin....

Yea right....

80% of BitCoins are located in one site MtGox - if they put their hands on this site, block the exits, confiscate, or whatever - then it's the end of BitCoin. The truth is that we need the banks or MtGox to keep our $s and coins respectively. We don't have the guts to put all our coins in our computer, our paper wallet or our brain. Just think of it - you forget the password, you lose that paper, your safe is broken - we need that entity that has our ID to give us our coins back after we prove who we are.

4  Other / Beginners & Help / About BitCoin Anonymity on: March 29, 2013, 09:54:58 AM
Hi,

I am reading that BitCoin allows anonymity...

If I pay someone 2$ then he gets my 2$ and he doesnt' know how much I have.
If I pay someone 2 BTC then he can go into blockchain.info and trace the transaction back to my wallet from there he can see how much money I have in that wallet and if it's not my main wallet then he can trace back to my big 'saving' wallet.

Where's the anonymity exactly?

Folks,

Here's the silver chart, beginning of 1980. For months it was traded for 10 $ a coin. And then around december 79  and around the beginning of December 79 @ around 20$ - it went balistic. At first it would climb 1.4% a day and then it went up at 6.7% a day til it got to 40$ where it had a mini correction and then resumed its climb till the all time high at around 50$ per coin!!!

And here we are again 33 years after - the people that are trading bitcoin today weren't even born in 1980 but nothing has changed - Are we at SOME top here - or should we experience a mini correction on our way for the final blow-out @100$ Huh

I am not saying that this would be the end of bitcoin as we know it... - it could go one day way beyond 100$ but for the time being this paraboloa is accelerating at ~11% per day - twice as fast as the rate silver was rising during the huge once in a life time super spike of the 80s....
