1  Economy / Marketplace / Private key for address with 5 BTC. on: July 19, 2011, 09:17:30 AM
For each 0.025 BTC that shows up at 1NFXQfoqGJBNuEXMSYJwUYGt5bJF6jbFrg past the date of this post, I will reveal a random digit (as shown by Python's random.randint(), seeded with the post number.) of the key.

It's in PEM format.

-----BEGIN EC PRIVATE KEY-----
****************************************************************
****************/***********************************************
******************************==
-----END EC PRIVATE KEY-----

As an extra wrinkle, I'll give you the sha256 hash of the private key, for your bruteforcing pleasure.

>>> hashlib.sha256(data).hexdigest()
'0d2c8b5e5aa8ed0b2c10ad8d0940ee24e5df5e48160fe09b31efeaa8e72f6083'

This is the hash of ONLY the inner part (not ---BEGIN EC PRIVATE KEY--- or ---END EC PRIVATE KEY---)
There are no newlines at the ends, only between lines.

It is a GLBSE asset. Once a week, on Saturdays, I will pay a dividend of 90% of profit from selling the asset to all shareholders.

Get in now for maximum profit!
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Raising money to buy MtGox a book on: July 02, 2011, 03:27:17 AM
In light of recent events, I have decided that it would be best for the Bitcoin community at large if we pool our money and buy Tibanne Co a copy of http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596101039

If I recieve 1 BTC at address 19bYu16L9wwtonUwAD4GfxrdrnB7qFJmDj, I will purchase and ship this book to Tibanne Co in Japan.

7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Alternative coinbase reward formula on: June 28, 2011, 07:03:54 PM
Suppose we replace the coinbase reward formula with:

R = 50 - F

R is the reward for a block (NEW COINS ONLY, NOT TRANSACTION FEES, THEY STILL GET THOSE NORMALLY)
F is the sum of all transaction fees in the previous block.

If Bitcoins deflate, (as it recently has) the amount people will pay to miners for their transactions decreases. Thus, the block reward will go up, causing inflation and counteracting this.

OTOH if they inflate, miners will demand higher fees. Thus the block reward will go down, causing deflation.

This system allows Bitcoin to survive theoretically forever.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BitcoinBoom.org STEALING WITCOINS on: June 17, 2011, 12:01:41 AM
http://bitcoin.witcoin.com/p/1811/
They are using a XSRF exploit to forcibly upvote their post... giving themselves 0.01 (20 cents!!!) with each click of a link.

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK IN THAT POST.

A lot of sites I've seen (Bitcoin7, Witcoin) are very vulnerable to CSRF attacks.

12  Economy / Marketplace / The New Ubitex on: June 16, 2011, 05:26:22 AM
    Today, Ubitex finished a major overhaul that's been ongoing for quite a while.

    The old Ubitex was clunky, buggy, and easy to exploit (Just click Fill on all the orders, now they're gone!) The new Ubitex fixes major complaints and issues.

    Before, Ubitex had barely any support interface. Now, Ubitex has a UserVoice widget on every page; just click to report a bug, get help, or suggest an idea.

    Until now, Ubitex had no SSL. Anyone could change Bitcoin addresses going out over the wire. After today, Ubitex is exclusively SSL.

    You can also change your email address now, a feature which I understand many users wanted.

    Previously, when the filler clicked fill, the order was sealed, with no changes. Going forward, the seller can choose from a list of interested fillers.

    With the new Ubitex, each order has a unique URL; you can see one in my signature on this forum. There, you can see details of the order, comment on it, or request to fill it. The seller can also tweet the URL with one click, and choose which filler he wants to use based on rating and distance.

    As we have only just begun to attract new clients, it will probably be hard to find users near you unless you live in a dense urban area. For this reason, we recommend putting your order URL in your forum signature, along with your rough location. For bigger orders, you may want to post on the forum about your order. For smaller orders, you might want to tweet your URL, since many people's followers are geographically close.

    Thank you for being patient.
    I've put a lot of work into this update. I hope you like it.

    Sincerely,
    Nate Theis (cuddlefish), CEO/COO, Ubitex.
13  Bitcoin / Project Development / Yo dawgs, I heard you liked security. on: June 16, 2011, 12:24:20 AM
So I put some SSL in your Ubitex, so you can be secure while you browse the site.

18  Bitcoin / Project Development / Ubitex just got the overhaul of a lifetime. on: June 15, 2011, 09:49:59 AM
It's been a long time. But finally, the next Ubitex update is unveiled!

Features. New features. Filler choice. it's 3 am here, yay frantic coding. LBE. ORDER URLs. editable email address.

Oh, that bitcoin address field isn't in there for fun.

I'm a bit tired, thus the brevity.. but ask me anything, I'll be glad to answer.
19  Economy / Marketplace / Ubitex new feature: Order URLs! on: June 15, 2011, 04:27:34 AM
