1  Other / Beginners & Help / How do I read the blockchain? on: August 26, 2016, 05:53:41 AM
So I did a nice trade today and received my first decently sized chunk of BTC (compared to the faucets I've usually been doing) for around $200 BTC and when I clicked the link to verify the transaction on the blockchain, it seems to be showing another transaction apart from mine:

https://blockchain.info/tx/f1478eda31c08d76b4f6daf0d7bdda64eba09556d0f4ca096ea09c3c6f1283e2

Can you tell me... is this from the perspective of the sender and are both transactions from the same sender? What does the /tx/ in the URL stand for? Transaction? I usually see the /address/ URL and I'm not used to this one. Also, when it reads "unspent" I'm assuming that the blockchain has tracked that I have not spent the BTC yet. Is there a way to further track which address the money was sent to once I spend it? What if I spend small portions of it... how does that get tracked?
2  Other / MultiBit / Anyone use Multibit HD? - Can't send on: August 15, 2016, 06:50:47 AM
I saw Multibit recommended a lot so I decided to use it. I've been trying all day to send a payment but each time I get this error:

Also, I received another payment today. When it became confirmed, my balance changed to the new confirmed amount and my old balance then became unconfirmed... but this payment was confirmed 5 days ago so I have no idea what is going on with this wallet. Is this just a crap wallet and I have I lost Bitcoin?
3  Economy / Exchanges / Which of these exchange sites is most trusted/preferred on: August 12, 2016, 12:46:36 AM
Short version:

Longer Version:
I'm new to Cryptocurrency. I spent a week doing low paying BTC faucets just to receive and send so that I can see how it works (it was a lot of work for 38 cents lol). Now I'm learning to mine. I'm getting terrible hashes because I'm using minergate CPU power from a couple of old computers I don't use anymore but it's just to learn some basics. I have about 1000 Bytecoins which sadly is just a few cents but it seemed better to mine altcoins then exchange them for Bitcoins. (If anyone uses Minergate, feel free to recommend a better altcoin to mine for conversion to BTC).

I was planning to use https://bittrex.com/ because I've seen it mentioned so many times but they don't seem to accept Bytecoins, two other sites do: https://poloniex.com/ and https://changelly.com/

Of the three which is generally trusted and preferred the most? Or are they all good? Or am I missing something better that I'm unaware of? I really don't want to have to use multiple exchange services unless I have to. And yes I know that the amounts I'm discussing are pointless, at this stage I'm just using pennies to learn the basics because I would hate to make a technical mistake with my own money. Thanks for reading.
