1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / AMD Radeon 6990M! on: July 12, 2011, 04:44:38 AM
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/12/amd-announces-the-radeon-hd-6990m-has-some-pointed-words-for-nv/

Basically, the specs of a desktop Radeon 5830 in a notebook GPU. Good for notebook mining, it you are into that sort of thing, as well as frying eggs, if you know what I mean... Shocked Wink Oh, and it can probably game pretty well too.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / I can no longer control my 5850's fan? on: June 16, 2011, 01:36:15 AM
I bought an XFX 5850 a couple days ago, the model with the center-mounted fan. I installed it, along with a fresh installation of Windows 7, did some tweaking, and left it to run overnight. When I woke up, I found that the computer had frozen, so I did a hard reboot and everything looked fine, except that I can no longer control the fan speed more than +/- 200-300 rpm, from about 1000-1300 rpm. I have tried many things in order to fix it today, including reinstalling Windows, reinstalling different versions of Catalyst/drivers, and reinstalling MSI Afterburner, all to no avail. Is there anything else I missed, or should I try to RMA it? Also, might this problem be fixable via BIOS flashing, such as RBE?
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Does the Intel D975XBXLKR support 3 video cards? on: May 25, 2011, 05:00:49 AM
I recently bought a Radeon 5770 to add to my rig, which contains a 5870 and a 5850. However, when I added it to the motherboard and booted it up, Windows gave me a "uncorrectable hardware error" BSOD.  Sad  My motherboard, the Intel D975XBXLKR, has 3 PCIe slots, so it should support 3 video cards...right? I do not have any of them connected in CrossFireX. Might the video card be malfunctioning, even though I just bought it? Or is this a limitation/problem of the motherboard (or Windows)?
