1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Transaction times on: June 01, 2013, 03:13:37 PM
I am sending some bitcoins with a 0.0001 transaction fee, and it's taking 16 hours to deliver. Tongue
I would have increased my transaction fee a bit if I knew it would take that long.
Is there a way to know how long the transaction time will be before sending?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Any coin worth mining now? on: May 26, 2013, 01:02:21 PM
I started with mining bitcoin, but I am not really getting anything out of it. (I want to be able to mine whenever I want. When the payout is round based, my share would be less than 1 Satoshi and I get nothing.)
Now mining Litecoin, but realised the difficulty has increased exponentially since April.
Is there any coin worth mining now?
It should be a coin that is going to last, and is easy to trade.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Beginning Litecoin mining and which pool? on: May 19, 2013, 05:18:43 PM
I've been mining Bitcoins with my GPU, but find it too difficult.
I want to give it a go with Litecoin mining.
So far, I've downloaded Litecoin wallet and GUIMiner scrypt.
I now have to choose a pool.
Does anyone knows which pool work best with GUIMiner scrypt?

Thanks,
Arthur
4  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Undervolting and underclocking a 7870 Tahiti on: May 02, 2013, 08:09:58 AM
Hi all,

I've got a new Powercolor 7870 Tahiti. I got around 425 Mhash/s using GUIMiner, but the temperature went up to 92C.
I am thinking maybe I should undervolt and underclock to keep it below 80C.
I have no prior experience in over/underclocking.
Can someone please give me some advice?

Thanks,
Arthur
5  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Using DiabloMiner on slush's pool stratum on: May 01, 2013, 06:16:30 PM
I have been using GUIMiner for a while. I've heard that DiabloMiner is kernel optimized for GCN.
Can someone tell me how to mine on stratum with DiabloMiner?
I've tried:
DiabloMiner-Windows.exe -l http://worker:password@stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333
and I kept getting ERROR: Cannot connect to stratum.bitcoin.cz: Unexpected end of file from server
I have been doing some Googling and still couldn't find the correct command.
Can somebody please help me out?
6  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 7850 or 7870? Is the extra cost worth it? on: April 12, 2013, 11:34:58 AM
I am thinking of building a new rig for mining, but don't want to spend too much.
I am deciding between a 7850 or 7870. Of course the 7870 is faster, but is the extra cost worth it?
On a side note, it'll be used for gaming as well. Would an i3 3220 CPU be enough? (My other option would be AMD FX 6300, but i3 is slightly cheaper with a cheaper B75 motherboard, with a lower power consumption)

Thanks for your time reading my post. =]
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Namecoin wallet? on: March 27, 2013, 03:59:19 PM
I am mining in Slush's pool, and read that I can get "free" Namecoins if I can provide an address.
After doing some Googling, there are posts recommending registering an account on Crypto X Change, but the site has been closed down long ago.
The default Namecoin client doesn't seem to be very user friendly.
Can anyone advice me on the best way to get started with Namecoin?
8  Other / Beginners & Help / rpcminer-cuda is slower than default OpenCL miner in guiminer on: March 26, 2013, 09:51:34 PM
I've been using the default OpenCL miner in guiminer, and it went up to 26-27 Mhash/s
I've now read about rpcminer-cuda and I am using that instead, but it only gets to 24.6Mhas/s
Though I temperatures are lower using rpcminer-cuda compared to the default OpenCL miner
Is this usual? Should I keep on using rpcminer-cuda? Or switch back to the default miner?
