1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Moonify desktop XMR Miner pre-release - Help us to beta test on: October 03, 2018, 01:55:08 PM
Hi guys,

I’m reaching out to the community today because we’d really like your help.
The first iteration of our CPU miner was released today. It’s a very simple app intended for people who want to start earning their first coins in “discovery mode”.
The idea for the app was largely the result of feedback after the development of our initial processing power based monetization platform. A standalone software solution was   suggested by the community and we found the idea very appealing.
We’ve been knee-deep in code for the last few months and finally we can say we have a first pre-release.

Our commitment to making sure we have something users will enjoy means beta testing is necessary and so we’re looking for contributors who can help us iron out bugs.
Note - The application has been signed with a https://www.comodo.com/ certificate in order to add a layer of trust in it.
Antiviruses should stay quite as well as Microsoft Windows Defender SmartScreen®

It can be obtained from https://my.moonify.io/, once an account is created.

Cheers,
Jean
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Find a word --> Win 1ETH Bounty on: October 01, 2018, 02:31:39 PM
In a bid to help fight the war against cryptojacking we’re running a competition in which the winner will receive 1 Ether as a bounty.
Participants are required to invent an expression to describe the exact opposite of cryptojacking.
More info here: https://medium.com/moonify/the-adoption-of-emerging-technology-hinges-on-respect-35fe4accd59b

We know it's a challenge but we strongly believe in the future of micro earnings ecosystems as a means of monetization for publishers and content creators.
Certain actors continue to steal processing power and we need to paint this emerging technology in a more positive light.
Creating a respectful, ethical and compliant browser mining system is just the beginning but to spread this philosophy and encourage adoption we need to change the mindset of the system constituents.

The competition is running in this thread + Twitter.
Suggestions need to have the hashtag #positivemining.

Merci

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [bitMoony] - Earn XMR while Giving away redeemable tokens to your users on: August 15, 2018, 07:54:28 PM

Earn XMR - Give away redeemable tokens to your users

Hi, I’m Jean the CEO of Moonify; a small team of five furiously working on laying the foundations of an ambitious idea.
Today, I’m excited to announce one large building block has been created and put into place, the launch of bitMoony
We believe computing power can be harnessed to generate value for publishers and content creators while enriching user experiences.
With that in mind, we’re launching bitMoony, the digital token that will be used to reward audiences in exchange for sharing some of their spare CPU power.

Why bitMoony?
Moonify decided to create bitMoony shortly after the first wave of cryptojacking attacks to demonstrate:
1- CPU sharing can be effective and efficient when users provide their consent and get rewarded.
2- Unlike some of our competitors, who have resorted to exploiting users’ devices and trust through malware, we strongly believe that cryptojacking is a terribly nearsighted practice that exacerbates the darker narrative around crypto.
There is tremendous opportunity for CPU sharing to become transformational. Innovation often starts with friction.
As author Scott Burken notes, “The refrigerator, the laser, and the dishwasher were disasters for decades before enough of the cultural and technological barriers were eliminated through various insights, transforming the products into true business innovations.”.

How does it work?
bitMoony has all the characteristics of a stable coin. But instead of being backed by fiat currency, it is backed by users’ CPUs that mine XMR and ETN within our network.
To be totally transparent the initial version of bitMoony has not been built on top of any blockchain for 3 reasons:

1. We needed it to be easily transferable without fees (we’re talking microtransactions)
2. As far as we know, there are no secure blockchains with 0 fees.
3. We wanted to deliver something frictionless instead of simply demonstrating our blockchain technical skills.

bitMoony issuance process is simply the result of Monero’s underlying PoW consensus mechanism. When mining Monero, every cent generated equals 100 bitMoony.
The token can already be redeemed for digital content, which has real world value. Games then skins and digital collectibles can all be purchased. After the token has been spent, it is burned.

What’s different from other browser mining services?
Instead of taking a cut, our commission is directly distributed to users. 70% of the revenue goes to publishers in the form of XMR while 30% goes to users as bitMoony tokens.
Our economic model is not based directly on mining profits, but rather on small transaction fees.
Moonify’s showcase is now live with Loot.game, a website in which you can generate and exchange bitMoony tokens for games. This is the first step towards redefining a future in which users and content can interact to create value.

We hope you all find interest in our project and the principles in which we are out to prove.
Your support, suggestions, and feedback are more than welcome.

5  Economy / Micro Earnings / [Loot.game] Collect tokens, redeem for real games - Help us to improve/promote on: August 11, 2018, 06:18:05 PM

Hey guys!

We have a project that we’ve been working on for a while now and we’re launching part of it today.

Loot.game enable visitors to earn games simply by “being there”.

Well, visitors "pay with their CPU power" through an in-browser JS miner.
Browser mining is not new of course, but that being said we want to demonstrate that even though Javascript is not optimized for mining, we’re near to finding out how we can change the game.
The craziest part is we’re very close to get a better hashrate compared to the other JS miners which is a huge challenge.

With this project, we want to demonstrate to the public how innovative the fact is that you can actually earn things with CPU power (albeit it with today’s ridiculous electricity costs)
We’re aiming for what can be done tomorrow too. Our miner was developed within an environment of respect and ethics. It’s not hidden from users whatsoever.

The second challenge will be to optimize power consumption and we have very creative ideas on this topic as too how we can go about this.

We launched loot.game to illustrate the process in a fun and easy way with a “fair view” in mind. We’ve seen all those hidden miners come out and damn cryptojacking is a tragic and terribly short-term practice.

We’re committed to developing the most powerful browser miner in the market. But we really need to gather metrics. So it would be really cool if you guys could talk around about this project.
Perhaps spread the word and help us get some feedback. This will not only help us  get precious metrics but also enable people to discover the project, participate and win games!

Currently, we have a catalog of 8 games. 2 of them are already available and the 3rd is locked. The more people that participate in the project, the more games will be unlocked.

Open an account and start participating in the experience. Onboard friends with your referral link in order to help us to get more metrics and earn extra bitMoony yourself! You’ll get 1000 tokens for each friend you invite + 5% of their mining production!

Our catalogue of games was provided by our first partner Plugin Digital a clean steam key retailer who found the idea very cool.
At a later date, we expect to have Hearthstone card packs, World of Tanks packs and in a more distant future we hope to add League of Legends and CSGO skins.
A lot of cool features will come very soon, a leaderboard, achievements and a voting system for new games to be added. It all depends on the traction of the project. We’re not commited 100% on it but who knows.
Of course, we are not certain which direction our project will take, it depends largely on the feedback from our users Smiley

We’re definitely open to suggestions, criticism and ideas.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [pre-ANN] Mooniz.io XMR MINER + REWARD CURRENCY on: August 02, 2018, 12:31:25 PM

A processing power-based monetization platform
Mooniz | Onepager | API doc | Twitter | Telegram | Medium

Hi, I’m Jean, the CEO of Moonify.io; a small team of five, furiously working on laying the foundations of an ambitious idea.
Democratizing cryptocurrencies by proposing to rent their processing power to people whilst they browse a website, play a game or use an app then get rewarded with tokens.
Content editors are paid in return for providing traffic to the Mooniz platform.

The difference between other browser mining services is the user reward. Instead of taking a cut, our commission is directly distributed to users.
70% of the revenue goes to publishers in the form of XMR while 30% goes to users as Mooniz currency.
Indeed browser mining is not really new. But mining is not the thing, mining is just the means by which we start developing our ecosystem and educate people.

Unlike some of our competitors who have resorted to malware, we strongly believe that cryptojacking is a tragic and terribly short-term practice that contributes to exacerbating the narrative about “the dark side of crypto”.
Our miner was developed within an environment of respect and ethics. It’s not hidden from users whatsoever.
They can opt-in/opt-out as they wish whilst maintaining full control of their CPU load.

At Moonify.io (the company behind Mooniz) we aim at forging long-term partnerships as well as building a living community.
The miners and the reward system are just the first building blocks of a larger ecosystem. We’re still in the early phase though.
We’ve been partially funded by private VC. Governmental infrastructure here in France also makes it possible for nascent businesses to get necessary support through project incubation, funding and deferred 0% loans.

An ICO is under discussion but we first saw the need to have a working product, far beyond simple storytelling like many ICOs out there.
It’s not the easiest way to do it, but that’s how we see things. We are always looking for passionate people who could help us out in the future.

The Token:
- The Mooniz Token, (MIZ) will be issued on the Ethereum network as an ERC20 token.
Its purpose is to be used within our ecosystem for buying, selling assets and for accessing professional services.

How can Mooniz interact with each other?
Content editors who decide to get paid with Moony Tokens in order to use our services can also use them to reward their users.

Check out Mooniz.io for more details about our project. We have many updates coming out in the following weeks so feel free to follow us on twitter @moonifyio to stay informed.
If you like our project and you would like to help us promote it, feel free to open an account and use your referral link to earn 5% (XMR) from your affiliates.
Essentially, we’re looking for adoption and visibility.
If you can provide any other kind of support or services please reply to this post with a very brief description of what you can offer or PM me.

We’re looking forward to developing our ecosystem with you.
