Economy / Economics / Warren Buffet has some very wise words. Crypto applicable.
on: February 03, 2019, 03:13:15 PM
I have been asked a lot recently by members in here, what my position is on the current Bear market for Cryptos. I think that this man is brilliant, and he gives the sentiment of myself and many members in here. So, this is your reminder..... Warren Buffett suggests you read this 19th century poem when the market is tanking.
Published Mon, Dec 17 2018 • 3:48 PM EST • Updated Mon, Dec 17 2018 • 4:04 PM EST Kathleen Elkins @KATHLEEN_ELK Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.Adam Jeffery | CNBC The stock market has had a volatile year, and it’s not over yet: The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost more than 520 points on Monday and the S&P 500 fell 2.1 percent. Both are in correction and on pace for their worst December performance since the Great Depression in 1931. But for the average person, shifts in the market, even ones as dramatic as the ones we’ve seen this year, shouldn’t be cause for panic. During times of volatility, seasoned investor Warren Buffett says it’s best to stay calm and stick to the basics, meaning, buy-and-hold for the long term. So, during downturns, “heed these lines” from the classic 19th century Rudyard Kipling poem “If—” which help illustrate this lesson, Buffett wrote in his 2017 Berkshire Hathaway shareholder letter: If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs ... If you can wait and not be tired by waiting ... If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim ... If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you ... Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it. Market downturns are inevitable, Buffett pointed out, using his own company as an example: “Berkshire, itself, provides some vivid examples of how price randomness in the short term can obscure long-term growth in value. For the last 53 years, the company has built value by reinvesting its earnings and letting compound interest work its magic. Year by year, we have moved forward. Yet Berkshire shares have suffered four truly major dips.” He went on to cite each of the steep share-price drops, including the most recent one from September 2008 to March 2009, when Berkshire shares plummeted 50.7 percent. Major declines have happened before and are going to happen again, he says: “No one can tell you when these will happen. The light can at any time go from green to red without pausing at yellow.” Rather than watch the market closely and panic, keep a level head. Market downturns “offer extraordinary opportunities to those who are not handicapped by debt,” he says, which brings up another important investing lesson: Never borrow money to buy stocks. “There is simply no telling how far stocks can fall in a short period,” writes Buffett. “Even if your borrowings are small and your positions aren’t immediately threatened by the plunging market, your mind may well become rattled by scary headlines and breathless commentary. And an unsettled mind will not make good decisions.” HODL

Economy / Collectibles / LYNX'S ART SHOULD IT BE CHRONOLOGICALLY CATALOGUED ON FRANKS SITE
on: January 25, 2019, 04:45:14 PM
I for one have some of LYNX's early art, and think it would be a good idea for Frank tochronologically catalogue ALL of his Crypto related art from the beginning of him producing it. If you go to his site, you can only see a select amounts of art that he has produced in the past, leaving large gaps.. I think that LYNX should have standards. Coin makers do. LYNX should list EVERYTHING produced thats Crypto related. From the very beginning. In order, number made, price's, date offered. Also that the #1's are Private Issue-and were meant to be held for their Private Collection, but some were sold at a much higher asking price, making them VERY RARE to have at all. Transparency.
I know at one time, he had a short list in here, way back when...but I'm talking now. From the First Editions, Second, Third, and so on. I would like to have the validation on the things that I own, for in the future, where anyone can go and get the validation. There's no better time than now to start.
An ongoing chronologic catalogue of pieces that LYNX has produced, included on the LYNX site. Anything that can be done to maintain value and validation of ownership of the Art, should be done for the owners.
1st Edition:To the Moon with the bitcoin guy was the first, if I'm not mistaken. 100 made (Date of First Offering) Second Edition:On the Moon 100 made (Date Offered) Third Edition:Mars 50 made (Date Offered) (Etc...)Bitcoin Astronaute 50 made (Date Offered) Blast off 100 made (Date Offered) End the FED 21 made (Date Offered) Ignore the Fud 100 made (Date Offered)
*some of this information could be off a little, but the fact that LYNX is beginning to get recognition now, only emphasises the fact that this needs to be done. And the sooner the better.

Economy / Collectibles / POLL: Should "PROXY" Bidding be allowed in Forum Auctions?
on: January 11, 2019, 08:20:18 PM
A simple question. Do you think that someone, who cannot be present for the final hours of, or for some other unforeseen reason, be allowed to allocate someone else to bid in their stead? YES or NO ? Will this lead to ppl dialing and calling in their bids? Will anonymousminer Proxy Services start a successful Proxy auction service? Could it grow to into a circus? We want to hear from you. 1 - Neutral 12 - YES 1 - No

Economy / Service Discussion / IF PAYPAL BANNED YOU
on: August 24, 2018, 12:33:31 AM
I was just talking to Ebay customer service. Seems that ALL BANNED PAYPAL users who sold crypto are now allowed to make purchases IN EBAY using our credit cards. REFUNDS will also be returned to the original source of payment. Effective this FALL, by invitation ONLY a small group of members will be using their banking accounts directly, and will be reporting back to ebay any problems for improvements. Paypig used to share the same building...ebay kicked them out, they now have their own building (so I'm told). There is no need to change your listed email on your account in ebay. Within a year or two, Ebay will be handling all their own business. Minus our enemy the pig. If you know someone who was given the BOOT by paypig...TELL THEM to call Ebay and get the 411, then crack a beer to the Crypto Gods
