Just started mining monero on some RX470s with 8gb samsung, and while with a proper timing I can reach 990h/s in sgminer 5.5.5 on windows, on linux (specifically ethOS with same sgminer) I cannot reach the same result, speed-wise (only 730h/s) nor power-wise. Used same settings in sgminer: rawintensity 896, workload 8, gpu threads 2. Also same bios, and same core/mem freq and voltage.

What am I doing wrong?

Tried higher intensity on linux, and I do get higher speed (880h/s), but the power goes through the roof, rivaling ethereum mining.

Looking for someone to provide services like adding voltage offsets and truly custom ram timings that properly improve mining speed compared to simple strap copy. Even if you know how to do only one out of two, I am interested.

Can anyone come with a feedback regarding this card? Build quality, temperatures and especially hashing speeds obtained? I see it has 2 revisions, 1.0 and 1.1, anyone know the difference?

I somehow managed to semi-break one of my cards and I want to RMA it, but I didn't save the original bios, can someone help me please with it?
It's an XFX RX470 TripleX dual-fan 1226mhz core card with Elpida RAM. On techpowerup I can only find for the Hynix variant

I am trying to do a mod in the bios of my RX card and I have reached a dead end.
What I wanna do is to modify the 1900mhz memory strap to work from 1975, as highlighted below.
I have discovered the timings in the bios with a HEX editor, and also some HEX code between the timings that makes no sense, I have converted it to DEC, and it's gibberish.



If anyone can help, I would really appreciate.

The bios is completely custom made with custom timings, didn't use the common trick with the straps which only get you up to 10-15% more speed.

Confirmed cards that have 4gb Samsung memory: Sapphire Nitro+ RX470 and RX480. These also come sometimes with Hynix (especially 470s), so make sure to check before contacting me. Latest batch as far as I know comes only with Samsung.

Mining speed: +25-30% more than stock on monero (up to 835h/s on RX470, up to 850h/s on RX480).

Didn't test on 8gb Samsung memory, but it should be compatible (timings are similarly made between 4 and 8gb on stock bios). Still, I don't guarantee the same speeds.

PM me only if properly interested, and only if you have 40 rigs or more, or the price might be a bit steep for you (fixed, one-time price for the bios file set at 0.9 BTC). This investment can be recovered in ~2 months with ~40 rigs, ~1 month with ~80 rigs, ~15 days with ~160 rigs, so on and so forth). As a bonus, any update I make to improve the bios will be given to the clients who purchased, free of charge.

I will only send the bioses if at least 2 clients are in the final stage of acquisition (sent payment). Also the sale will be limited to 5 clients max to not affect the difficulty and make the ROI of this investment harder.

I just recently built my first miner, only put 2 RX 470 ref sapphire cards on a H81 Pro BTC, and installed win10 64bit + amd drivers 16.9.1 (the first driver made by amd that don't require driver verification, because I plan to mod the cards). The thing is, the cards show in device manager, it says they are working properly, NO errors (error 43 for example, which is common), they show in GPU-Z, but when I check the clocks, it shows 0 Mhz on core/memory for both. I am using the integrated gfx to display image, and I haven't made any modifications in BIOS.
I don't think mining would work if they show 0 mhz.
